I've been to a few classes thus far and I have to say that Kim is a fun instructor that keeps me entertained and sweating. The dances are fun and there's a wide range of people there. On occasion, Kim seems to lose track of where in the dance we are and give the wrong instruction. But, she is able to correct herself quickly. And I must admit that if I had to memorize that much choreography, I'd probably forget as well. The Zumba schedule is kind of limiting and I really wish they would offer more classes on the weekends, when I actually have time to go.

I signed my toddlers up for a 2-3 year old dance class. The owner Rachael, was their teacher…read more During the third class Baby A would not leave the open bathroom (the bathroom is in the dance studio itself, not the lobby and class had started), and Rachael came to me visibly shaking with anger to tell me That baby A wouldn't "leave the restroom." I go and discover that she needed her diaper changed, I do so and baby a goes back to join her class. I do NOT expect the dance teacher to change her. My other daughter (baby b) was more nervous about leaving me and would participate in about a third of each of their three lessons. On ONE instance Baby B had a meltdown because she wanted me to go in with her, and I would not. This caused Baby A to be concerned about her twin and she came out of the studio to check on her. Rachael was upset by this and physically removed Baby A from class. Rachael did not do this with any of the Other children there who also went in and out frequently because they too, are toddlers. At the end the teacher decided my Girls needed PRIVATE lessons. I felt pressured. I had already paid nearly $400 to this studio for Recital fees, costume fees, and two months worth of class lessons, and we had only taken 3 classes at this point. The set day next week for the private lesson came and Rachael did not show up. I knocked. I called. I emailed. No answer. When someone else opened the studio for a different class- I left a note. In all of these instances of attempted communication I asked Rachael, the owner, to contact me asap and she never did. So next week I show up for our normal class lesson time which was on Thursday. There are many new kids present. I walk into the studio where she is sitting on the floor and say "Hi Rachael, We were supposed to have a private lesson with you last Friday as arranged, and no one was here." She says "Oh, yeah, I know. I thought it was tomorrow." I say "Why didn't you call me?" Rachael says "Well, I got your messages but I am super busy with class schedules during the week and I wanted to talk to you in person." I told her that A phone call would have gone a long way. She stared at me and shrugged. I then asked "So, What is our recourse? I don't think private lessons are appropriate for 2 year olds." She then agreed to let them have that day in class to "See how they do." Since my kids were super excited and we were there- I agreed. Baby A went into class and was much more well behaved then other 2.5 year olds in class who had to have their moms continuously stick their heads in for correction. Baby B wanted to sit by me, and did so with Minimal fuss. Then they switched to doing tumbling and baby b went in when everyone else Did on her own. I followed just to the glass door so I could watch. All of the kids were lined up sitting at the mirror but Because baby B had never done the tumbling part before she did not know to go sit with them. I was watching and listening and Rachael did not once tell baby B to sit down with the others and wait her turn. So Rachael then picks up Baby B and puts her outside the (glass) studio door into the lobby. Baby b has been kicked out of class and is sobbing. Baby B is upset because she hadn't done anything wrong, she did not KNOW what was expected of her by Rachael. Less than a minute later Rachael is removing Baby A and physically putting her outside the studio door as well. Baby A starts melting down, sobbing, telling me "I good, I not trouble, I want dance class." I instantly demand a refund, Rachael's mother starts saying she will give me one. She then tries to tell Me Rachael did NOT tell me that she purposefully didn't contact me. I refuted that and threatened legal action if my money wasn't refunded asap. I had to carry my sobbing, Broken hearted children out to the car. Baby A still wailing about how "me good! I no trouble. Please momma dance class." Over and over. It is not something I will soon forget. I am a professional musician, music teacher, actress, and (while not a professional ballerina) I have actually taken classes myself for nearly 20 years. The treatment my children suffered under this studio is reprehensible and completely unprofessional. I'm sorry I let my kids stay there for as long as I did. Clearly Rachael was overwhelmed and didn't want to teach my children. But Instead of simply saying that she led me on this ridiculous chase and treated my children as second best. Had she simply told me that she didn't think we were a good fit with her studio, I would have respected her decision and taken them elsewhere. I did get my refund for the second month of classes, the recital fees, and costumes via certified mail within days. They did immediately take down any photos of my children on their social media platforms when requested. My children have had zero complaints from their preschool about their behavior.

We tried this dance studio for my daughter, who is 3 years old. She was in the Twinkle Toes…read moresession. Ultimately, I decided to pull her out because I didn't feel that 30-minute classes for $85 a month were worth it, especially considering the commute we have to make to get there. Classes are twice a week Monday and Saturday and I also wasn't very impressed with the program itself. It didn't feel like much of a dance class. It was more like the kids were running around to songs. There was some bubble blowing, and in one class, the instructor even read a book. I was hoping for more structure and actual dance instruction. I also made the mistake of purchasing a dance outfit and shoes from their storefront because I thought my daughter would need a uniform. However, on the first day of class, I was told that her age group didn't require one. A couple of days later, I saw the order status change to "ready for pickup," but when we went to get it, we were told nothing was there. I kept trying to call, but no one ever answered only a text thread for follow-up. I continued checking, but nothing was ever actually ready. When we decided to cancel on 5/2, I had already been billed $85, and we still didn't have her outfit or shoes. I reached out via text that Saturday (since they don't answer the phone) and didn't hear anything back. I followed up again on Sunday (5/3) and still got no response. Finally, on Monday (5/4), I heard back and was asked to fill out a cancellation form. After submitting the form, I was told the outfit had arrived and that I could come pick it up. I responded the same day asking if the outfit could be refunded, but I never received a reply. Keep in mind, the outfit is branded with their dance logo. Since we canceled, there's really no reason for us to keep it especially because the class we were in didn't even require uniforms. Wednesday and Thursday passed with no response. Finally, I reached out again early Friday morning asking for a follow-up. I received this response: "Hello! Sorry about the delay. I have reached out about your refund and am just waiting to hear back. I'll keep you updated!" Then later, I was told, "Unfortunately, we don't issue refunds, but we can apply that amount to your account for future purchases." Future purchases after we just canceled the membership. Overall, if you have a child under 4, I wouldn't recommend this studio. And if you value communication and good customer service, I also wouldn't recommend it. I feel like a lot of this could have been avoided if they had clearly explained what the classes involve, what the kids would actually be doing, the dress code requirements, and their no-refund policy upfront. I was invited to a Country Western Club several months ago, it had been over 25 years since I went…read moreto a club to dance, and really enjoyed myself, but decided that if I was going to continue, I needed to take lessons so that when I did dance, I could do it with a little bit of grace and a lot more confidence. Thus started my journey to find a dance studio and instructor to get the dance lessons I so badly needed. After researching what was available, I found that the well-known franchises were ridiculously overpriced and they pushed hard to sign me up for hundreds of dollars of instruction packages. I then decided I would be able to learn quicker with less people and I would have no chance of being recognized and embarrassed, so I decided to go with private lessons verses group lessons. I then started inquiring about dance instructors who knew what they were doing, and did private lessons that were affordable for the average person. It did not take long before I had a few candidates, after my interviews, I selected Jeannie Tucker, as I felt Ms. Tucker met the criteria I was looking for. I started with County Western lessons with Ms. Tucker (Jeannie) several months ago, and from that first lesson I knew I had made the right choice. Jeannie was warm, friendly, and made me feel comfortable. After a brief discussion to identify what my present goals were, we discussed how she felt we should proceed (with me, It was at the beginning, the very beginning). Entering her private studio I could see pictures on the walls of her performing as a little girl to the professional performer/instructor she is today, numerous trophies, awards, ribbons, etc., that she was and still is a highly gifted performer, dancer and instructor. Jeannie truly believes "If Dancing is YOUR Passion, then Teaching You is MINE" a quote on her business card. After just a few lesions, one of the things I appreciated was Jeannie's methodical process of step-by-step direction and teaching of the basic steps. She told me, and as I learned, the basics, if done properly and practiced, would be the foundation for everything that would follow. In addition, if I became proficient at the basics, that adding new steps and combining them would be much easier, and retention greater. Boy, am I glad we spent that time, evening though I wanted to proceed quicker because I want to move on to the more exciting moves, I am so glad she did not let me, because it truly is making me a better dancer, and when those basic become instinct the rest is easier to learn. During my lessons I found Jeannie to be warm, friendly, supportive, caring, and within just minutes she put me at ease, relieving my anxieties. I felt that she was not just teaching me the steps, but showing me the importance of being a strong leader, emphasizing proper form and technique, and her instructions were clear and easy to understand. She was patient with me, willing to explain things over and over. With her instruction, encouragement and patience, my movement improved to the degree that I started gaining more confidence in myself, and on the dance floor in public.
