When we left at about 7:15 all spots were filled and valet was packed as well. I made a last minute reservation through open table and glad I did because most people had to wait 30 min to an hour for a table. The atmosphere is very lively and loud. It's casual. the bars inside and outside were packed. It was a lovely night, not too humid or hot. We sat outside on the deck and had a nice view of the intracoastal. They also decorated for Halloween which added a nice touch. The server was super friendly and attentive. I ordered the fish and chips and loved it. Perfectly fried and not greasy. Not bland at all. Very fresh and not fishy. The tartar sauce it came with was great as well. Lots of French fries too. My dad got the ribs and they were way too smoky. Someone went too heavy with the liquid smoke. But they were cooked right, juicy and fell off the bone. The ribs just came on the plate, should have put a garnish or broccoli or something to make the presentation nicer. My mom loved her mahi fish. The tap water here is not filtered, it's not good at all. We had to get sodas. Also not crazy that they give you a glass with a straw that doesn't have paper on it. Seems not very sanitary. We went on a night of king tide and when we left a bunch of cars parked closer to the water side and front of parking lot were flooded. The restaurant across the way was even partially flooded and people eating at flooded tables, but no one seemed to care.

We ended the night at Banana Boat for a light dinner. Coconut shrimp and a shrimp pasta dish. I started with a cup of clam chowder as I will always get clam chowder whenever I can. It was okay. Not the best. If I knew better, I would skip it next time. The coconut shrimp was excellent. Large and very crispy. We sat outside on the patio with a view of the river. Service was sparce. He disappeared a lot and we had to flag down others for tea and water refills. My dad even had to go find him to get the check so we could go. Fine place. Service could be better. Make a reservation. They weren't packed but they were busy for a Sunday night.

The menu is prix fix, and they have some additional specials that carry an up-charge. Wines by the glass were good, I like that they have Flowers Chardonnay like they do at their beach club. The food was excellent. We enjoyed the Crab & Avocado Salad and the really nice Grilled Chicken Skewers. Then Pan Seared Halibut served with Pea Risotto and Grilled Lamb Chops, 4 double cut chops, with Brussel Sprouts... really good! A tray of assorted desserts was just ok, nothing particularly stood out. Suffered from plating and putting in a fridge to hold... and served too cold. Service was on a high level. Colleagues who had attended meetings the week prior raved about the food and I wasn't disappointed. Our lunch included vegetable soup, Mediterranean salad, hummus and pita, salmon, lemon capered chicken, and really delicious potatoes. For dessert they had bread pudding and baklava. During breaks the staff kept our room clean and refreshed the beverages. Well done!! If you're looking to host a meeting in the area, I highly recommend this location.

This cohort of classmates were awesome- and our Sunflower facilitators were awesome- and my children loved every minute of getting to play in the Sunflower backyard playspace. This unique 8-week parenting class created community and definitely strengthened my relationship with my SO. I highly recommend this program for providing a safe space for parents to be able to empower each other, dig into their issues, and explore possibilities with like-minded souls. I wanted to be BFFs with every parent there, they were all so cool (and reminded me that I am not alone!). Just as my kids feel at home at Sunflower, so did I. How do they create such an exclusive, empowering space? intention, planning, respect, thoughtfulness - thank you for putting this together. Can't wait to see what you come up with next! Whatever it is, count us in! P.S. Also, thank you Sunflower for sharing Feather Berkowitz's incredible and important 'Parenting Safe Children' workshop - which we only took because you recommend it so highly - and it is absolutely an invaluable resource. Important invaluable. Thank you!
