Our Son & Nephew took us to Frascone Winery while we were heading to the Anahuac Wildlife Park, and we were pleasantly surprised. The family that owns the winery were very friendly and they had a nice variety of wines & meads which my son is a big fan of. They had alligator egg rolls on the menu that we just had to try, which were very tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, bought a couple of bottles of wine and mead, then drove over to the Anahuac Wildlife park and saw many alligators especially young ones while driving through the park. Sorry I didn't take any of the winery but took many alligator pics. I highly recommend that you stop by for a visit and a tasting.

If you want to get away from everything, come here. We are staying at the winery now and I can't even express through words how awesome it is. Jim is incredible and has so many amazing life stories to tell. We felt super welcomed when we arrived. The wine tasting is a great way to try the delicious wines and the homemade alligator egg rolls are amazing!!! If you like spicy, try the Devils Breath. Soooo good. The Cranberry, Grapefruit and Elderberry wines are great too. The chocolate wine paired with ice cream is pretty incredible. So many great fruit wines and a lot of flavors of Meade wine. They also have dry whites and reds. Bubbly wines when available. The neighbors are all incredibly gracious and welcoming, all with their own stories to tell about the history of this small community. There are 2 restaurants within walking distance. We ate at Channel Marker 17 last night. It's a dimly lit friendly little local fishing village bar inside. The outdoor seating on the water is great for families. Good burgers and seafood in a very laid back atmosphere. Think Key West. A little playground within walking distance for kids and a couple of fishing piers and boat launces. If you want to reset, relax, slow down and be around some pretty amazing people, good wine and a real local vibe, don't miss this spot!! We don't want to leave!!!

Owner was very welcoming. Although winery hours were until 6pm, he and his wife served us until almost midnight.

January 16, 2021 Came from Galveston with a friend for their…read morea wild game dinner by chef chuck harris from hucks catering. He was personable and hands on. (Menu is attached) I loved the the chef's personality...he worked his butt off in their make shift kitchen, so kudo's for that! It was a fun time...we sat with a local couple from Winnie and had a blast experiencing the food...wine and conversation...they were already familiar with the wine because they live down the street as did most of the people that were there. The tasting was basically a "sip" of individual wines they had paired with alligator, quail, venison and duck. They literally poured a sip of each wine, I'm like, hey man we paid $70 and drove over an hour to get here! Pfft! A sip? This is a pairing not a taste! Because of the wine tasting being just sips...we bought TWO bottles of their Black Spanish rose'...yum! Clay and Stacy Rollins own the vineyard and we had the pleasure of meeting them during our dinner; Mr Rollins said it's been tough keeping abreast of things during this pandemic. He started growing the grapes in 2011 (which is a task because that area floods during heavy rains) he finally opened since 2014. He said, they had to close during the start of the pandemic last year ( 2020) for 4 months and that he's glad they can open for "event" type activities. Mr Rollins told me their grapes are bought from all over Texas...but, mostly from the panhandle area (Lubbock) and processed in a plant in Nacogdoches, TX . We had alligator from Alabama, (wait what?) Quail from Texas Quail farms in Lockhart, TX (cool) duck from Maple Leaf farms in California and deer meat (venison) from New Zealand of all places!! (I was kinda surprised the proteins weren't locally sourced.) All in all, it was a fun time. The wine sips served were really good, mostly reds with 1 white. If you're within the Chambers County area stop by but, buy your own bottle cuz they stingy!!! LOL! FYI: HEB's in Mont Belvieu, Baytown, and Winnie TX sell their wine. I'm glad I got to experience this winery having come from 85 miles away...great job on y'all's wine accomplishments and awards. SUPPORT LOCAL BUY LOCAL

Part of it is the fact that it is in the middle of nowhere. Even going up the driveway there is some apprehension at what awaits. Once you get there, though, it's a beautiful spot. A tasting room set in the middle of a vineyard on a hill surrounded by trees. A great surprise. There is a fairly large selection of wines to fit all kinds of tastes. Even people who have a hard time finding something they like will probably find something to their taste. The flights are well worth it. Staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. As for food, they make their own homemade pizza which was excellent. Except for the fact that it's on the smaller side, I would actually put this up against any place in Fredericksburg.

However, I've lived in this area a long time and had no idea about the place until I visited Galveston Brewery recently and the server there mentioned Celtic Cross mead. Honestly it is not all that difficult to locate and once you see it, you see it and think "Oh! There it is!" It's cozy, homey, and welcoming. I'm glad I read Yelp reviews and such to learn this place was a little difficult to find but totally worth the effort. They were correct. But find it we did. Brandi and a couple at the bar welcomed us in. Brandi guided us through the various flavors of mead so we could decide what we liked. What a fantastic range of flavors and I feel I now know a lot more about mead. I tried their 4 serving flight of my favs. My son tried a class of each of his favorites. Their non-alcoholic mead was so refreshing that I would like an entire glass of that next time. I feel there is a flavor for everyone's taste and would be surprised if one could not find their favorite. The only way not to find your fav is the inability to chose from their selections. The only other mead I have ever tasted was at Bunratty castle in Ireland back in the day. Celtic Cross' mead is so much better. This place was fun and we cannot wait to come back.

This has some seating indoors and some outdoors, so going during the fall is probably ideal. Not a huge space, but when I arrived on a 100-degree day, there were plenty of seats to choose from. I did two different flights- the sparkling and the tasting. I'm more of a red lover, but the Blanc Du Bois semi-sweet is one of the only whites I've REALLY enjoyed (I received a tasting of this at the rodeo and wanted to check out more options here since I loved it so much). There are only two sparkling options at the moment, so I tried both. The real star was the Belle for me. I can definitely see myself taking this to brunch or enjoying while cooking a meal. It is light and refreshing and you can totally taste the fruity guava notes in it. The Blanc Du Bois regular is not sweet enough for me which is probably why I enjoy the Semi Sweet so much. Of course, I left with a bottle of this as well. I'd like to come back and try their Reds- but definitely something I'll have to do in the future. If you're already out this way, you can taste some wine and then book a Bee-Keeping class which I really enjoyed.
