Knowing how particular and discerning she is, I was confident that the company had to be excellent--and I was absolutely right! They replaced the ductwork in my upstairs after rodents had chewed through it. The two technicians spent approximately five hours at my home, and they did an outstanding job. Once the work was completed, they thoroughly cleaned up after themselves, leaving virtually no evidence that they had even been there. Before hiring South Florida Ducts, I obtained an estimate from another A/C contractor. I found that quote to be excessively high, so I decided to get a second opinion. South Florida Ducts provided an estimate that I considered reasonable and fair. Even better, the final cost did not increase as the work progressed! In my experience, with contract work, it is not unusual for unexpected issues to arise and the cost to increase along the way. I was therefore particularly impressed that South Florida Ducts honored its original estimate without adding unexpected charges. Based on the quality of their workmanship, their professionalism, their attention to cleanliness, and their fair pricing, I would highly recommend South Florida Ducts to anyone needing ductwork services. We used SFD over the course of 3 years to maintain our two air handlers and condensers. The…read moretechnicians were always on time and courteous and our air conditioners generally ran and performed well. Then the compressor in one of our 9-year-old condensers failed. Two technicians from other companies noticed the condensation bulb in the air handler was removed and said that was a big no-no that could have contributed to the unit failing. (I'm not saying it did since there's no way to know but it was certainly disturbing to hear that). When I asked SFD about this, they they either never noticed it or just missed it and that it wasn't that big of a deal. That was a little disappointing to hear because we paid hundreds of dollars for their bi-annual maintenance plan and they had just inspected the units although this time they sent a less experienced tech. They also gave us conflicting information about whether the other (working) air handler needed to be cleaned or not. I liked these guys a lot and trusted them but ultimately there were too many red flags and so they lost our business.

They're super professional and actually honor their warranty. I called them again today because of this Miami cold snap, and Daniel was a total lifesaver. He was at my place within hours and figured out the issue right away. I was given the choice of three estimates which were way out of my price range and told the guy would need to call somebody else to get another estimate. The estimates were anywhere from the cheapest of $1500. Approx to over $3000. I was totally shocked as my unit is not that old and was told that the motherboard was not sending signals to the compressor to turn on and if they replace the motherboard, it still may not send the signal and then I would have to replace my compressor also. I called another company that was also recommended to me and a technician within 10 minutes found the problem to be a $240 capacitor, which was changed in less than a half an hour and I had air again!! I can't imagine a company trying to rip off somebody buy so much money and completely miss diagnosing, a simple problem and trying and turning it into a huge disaster! SoFlow came on time and the installer was the same guy that initially inspected her old unit. Both gentlemen were very nice and they did a great job taking away the old unit and putting the new unit on a new pad and plumbing in the ducting and drain pipe. Their price was reasonable and the Daikin unit comes with a pretty good parts warranty.
