Stopped in here at 3 pm on a Thursday afternoon on a whim. I was surprised there were some people in there, simply because of the time. After eating, I understand why! We spilt the gyro egg rolls and an order of Frankz fries (chili cheese fries). Both were amazing! The fries weren't too greasy and had the perfect amount of chili and shredded cheese. The gyro egg rolls reminded me of a mix between a gyro and Philly cheesesteak. The tzatziki made it though. The service was friendly and when I asked about the chili, they offered a sample. Fun sports themed "diner" atmosphere. I think they specialize in hot dogs of different varieties but my wife and I ordered two gyros and a side of onion rings. I was curious about the "Man Dip" they had (which is just about the best cheese dip I've ever tried) and they gave me a free sample cup with a spoon I asked for another side for the Orings and they hooked me up for free. The food was good. But it was the service that had me. One of the managers, I assume, brought me and my wife a complimentary glass of this local Michigan produced vodka and berries mixed drink, on the house. It was delicious. Other than that; twice did someone come to our table to ensure we were taken care of. It's a cool little spot to come in and eat. Great atmosphere, great customer service. We had an amazing take-out dinner last night from Frankz to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday. It made us all so happy. We loved the crispy wings with BBQ sauce, crispy fries and onion rings, and of course our Frankz natural casing dogs with the works!! Friendly atmosphere, decent food, great service. We tried two of the dogs, and both were good. The man dip is excellent, it resembles a white chili with bits of sausage. Only complaint is that the hot dog meat was low-end and small. I'd recommend they upgrade to higher quality beef or sausage franks, something like the Member's Mark quarter pound beef franks. Probably my favorite "bar" in Frankfort now that they have liquor. It's pronounced "Franks" but I'll always call it "Frank Z's" -- the staff is awesome and the food is absolutely amazing. The fries are insanely good -- you'd be hard pressed to find better anywhere else. I've actually never had a hotdog here, but I'm sure they're great. Some places in northern Michigan don't seem to want your business but this place does -- they've won mine and I'll be stopping in whenever I'm in town. read more

This is a good place to stop for a quick bite to eat in downtown Frankfort. They have mostly hot dogs but the veggie gyro is very good also. Good food and atmosphere. But we ordered anyway. And very soon had serious regrets. The hotdogs are horrible. The toppings are average, but the hotdogs are--I'll say it again--horrible. Worse than what you get at a Little League concession stand. Rubbery, lukewarm, and a weird shade of pink, these hotdogs come nowhere near justifying the price. It would be easy to give Frank's just one star. But on the positive side, the place was clean, the workers were nice, and the fries were OK. We ordered the Chicago dogs and they were true to Chicago with natural casing dogs, celery salt, poppy seed buns and "dragged through the garden". I stopped by for a sandwich around 7 pm, going to get some takeout and eat it on the beach. I only purchased a gyro because it was 10 dollars for just the sandwich. Gyros, fries, and a drink would have run me about 17 - OUCH! I stood in the corner social distancing and waited for my order. There were 4 employees there but it still took 10-15 minutes to get on my way. All the employees were in the kitchen and quite frankly the dining room needed some sprucing up. The tables had the look of not being cleaned or sanitized for awhile. I would not have dined in unless I cleaned the tables myself. It's important here because of the volume of out of state visitors we get here. Gyros was in large chunks, they take it out of this liquid and pit it on the sandwich. I've had tastier and better portioned gyros in my day. Sauce was decent. It was average, I might try something else if I return but the very high prices and lack of sanitizing will probably keep me away read more
