Okay, if I could give a 0 star, I would. I don't even know where to start. I am very close to this restaurant in terms of where I live, just wanted to put that out there. Today is 7/3/2016-- the day before 4th of july. Which I'd understand might be a busy day, but still doesn't excuse this poor excuse of service. 1st strike: I call up, they answer quick-- which is great. I ask if they deliver, they said yes. Then I proceed to ask two more questions, the first one was if he could do a 4 cheese pizza with wheat dough-- they said yes so I ordered it. That's great, now I asked about the garlic knots, because in some places garlic knots can contain different ingredients-- all I asked was if it had cheese in it or not- not even mid sentence the guy cuts me off and tells me how he can't be on the phone all day answering questions and that they're really busy and proceeds to say are you going to order or not? Which I respond by saying yes, as I wanted to still give them a chance. To see if these positive reviews were correct-- which in my opinion they are a bunch of lies because that sort of attitude is not and should not be allowed in a place of business... The guy sounded like he was middle aged so I would think he'd know by now how to treat customers. Funny thing is, I gave him my order and he calls back asking what the soda I wanted was again- even though he was rushing me to begin with. I did answer but wasn't amused. 2nd strike: The food arrived after like 45 to an hour after the order was placed. The delivery guy first changed the price to a higher price-- I was going to give him a tip anyways, and I ended up doing so anyways... but when I looked at the ticket it clearly stated the price and he tried to overcharge me before I even looked at the ticket, the ticket was infront of him and he had read it before even handing it to me.. I also had the total from the guy on the phone, so I did not appreciate that stunt... 3rd strike: The food was extremely gross, and greasier than any other place I've been to(I've been to many local restaurants, and even chains-- and this one by far was the greasiest). The garlic knots were overcooked, stale, and extremely hard. I tried eating one and couldn't even stomach it. It was so bland, stale, and hard. I gave my brother his cheese steak roll, and he said it was gross, extremely salty(saltier than any cheese steak he's ever had), grease was flowing out of it like crazy, and the meat was just appalling... I personally tried a small bit of it-- from the center to give my own opinion, and he was right, but gross is an understatement. We each tried a slice of the pizza, I snapped a photo of it because the 4 cheese pizza itself looked like it was overcooked, stale, and just bland... To no surprise, after I took a bite, I found it wasn't just bland, stale, and overcooked... It also tasted worse than one of those cheap frozen pizzas from the supermarket... You know? Like worse than totino's frozen pizza, or worse than the shoprite boxed one. Funny, because the guy said it was going to have a lot of cheese, and that if I put any other ingredient, or more cheese it would taste not that great... Turns out the cheese was just a regular amount-- which is fine, but I don't understand why he couldn't add toppings or extra if I was willing to pay for it. I am glad he stopped me though, because the pizza itself was disgusting. My mother and brother tried it, both said it was extremely salty, greasy, overcooked, hard and felt like it had been there for a while. -- So in conclusion for those of you who "tl;dr" (too long; didn't read), here's the run down: 1st: Guy on the phone was rude, and rushing us. Even though we weren't being slow or anything, and just asked a total of 3 questions.. 2nd: Food arrived pretty late, about 20-30 minutes late. Usually pizzerias have a thing where pizza is delivered within 30-40 minutes if you're in the town over, and less if you're closer. The delivery guy, read the paper receipt and he clearly tried to overcharge for the pizza, whether he meant that it was towards the tip or not, I don't know. But he didn't even mention that-- even then delivery people aren't allowed to suggest or ask for tips. But to those of you who might wonder if I did leave a tip- yes. I left a good tip for what I paid for. Still wasn't amused by the stunt. 3rd: The food was gross, greasy, salty, overcooked, and stale. The garlic knots were hard, stale, and just gross. The cheesesteak roll was extremely greasy, salty, the meat tasted weird, and it was overall gross to have greasy pouring out of the thing like crazy. The pizza was the worst of all though, not only was it extra greasy, and extra salty, but it was also very bland, felt like it didn't have enough ingredients, the crust felt hard to the touch, and it was way overcooked. Overpriced, overcooked, rude workers, gross food, late, etc. IMO I don't recommend it, rather go for dominos than this garbage. read more

I'm from the west coast originally so I'm learning all about different styles and types of pizzas. When we first moved to the area we wanted to find a good pizza place (not those chain places) where we could count on a good pie. My husband picked out two pies - a chicken ranch and a meat lovers. The meat lovers was a bit too much for me and I like meat. The chicken was a bit better. The pie was humongous and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The crust wasn't too thick or too thin. We have this on our list of places to try again. read more

Customer service here is garbage. Called at 6:30 to order a plain large pie and mozz sticks. Told about an hour wait. Called 90 min later because no pizza yet. Told "it must be on its way because it's not here." Waited another 20 min. Called again and was told "we're putting it in the oven now, it'll be right over." Finally got our pie another 30 min later (2.5 hours after original call). Ice cold pizza and mozz sticks. Oh, and they threw in a brownie for our trouble. The pizza was below average in addition to being cold. I would give this place zero stars if I could. read more

Order from here all the time and occasionally go in person. Never had a problem until tonight. Called and got the RUDEST person on the phone. Was just ordering 2 sandwiches and a side of onions (order the same thing all the time). Guy on the phone said he wasn't sure if they could do the onions (?) so I had to ask him if he could please find out. He talks to someone else in the background and says "what else?" to me. After I tell him that is my order, he says "well that's barely enough for delivery". Last time i checked, as long as it meets the minimum delivery amount, thats fine. Doesnt matter if its exactly the amount, $1 over or $20 over! There's enough good pizzerias in this area that I can just order from somewhere else. Their grandma pizza is great. I have to say that this and Mario's pizza in Morris Plains are some of the best pizza I've tasted in the New York/New Jersey area. As an added bonus, their cheese steak was excellent as well. read more

Ordered delivery from here tonight...never again. Food was fine, but I'm not quite sure what type of fees they throw onto the order for delivery where a large pizza and one order of garlic knots comes out to $20.70. I went to the door with $22, thinking that would be more than enough for tip for the driver. The driver rudely let me know that I only gave him a buck and informed me that "we work for the tip, just so you know." I feel bad that I didn't have more for the tip, but did not expect the initial cost to be so high, or else I would have had more for him. Still, it's not right to beg for a bigger tip. I recently moved to Chester from Union county and I've tried 4 different pizza places before finding Frank's. I absolutely love this place! Not only is the food excellent but the staff at Frank's are just as great. I'd recommend this place to anyone who's looking for huge portions, reasonable prices, and great Italian food. I grew up in Long Valley and now live 1,300 miles away in Louisiana, but every time I come home, Frank's is on the list to visit (as many times as possible). The crap that passes for pizza in the south can't hold a candle to the way it's made here, with that mouthwatering, roof-of-the-mouth-burning alchemy of dough, sauce and cheese that would be my last meal, bar none, should I ever commit a capital offense. The staff is super friendly and the owner always remembers me, even though it might be a year between visits. Best Pizza in Mt. Olive! Hands down! Went for the first time with the family on Labor Day. Eating area is really nice. They even have a party room in the back. We had a large pie (half plain / half meatball) and it was so delicious. We also had an order of their meat lasagna and it was great as well. The dinner comes with soup or salad and we had both and they were nicely sized portions that we could share with the kids. We have 3 kids (9, 7 & 3). We also saw a recommendation on yelp for their Homemade Vodka Sauce and we were so glad we ordered it. It was so delicious and we dipped everything in it including the pizza and the Lasagna. Next time I go I'm going to ask for the lasagna to be done in the vodka sauce. So good!!! As far as price, I thought the price was right at $42 for the amount of food that we received. Comes out to less than $9/person. Good luck finding quality food anywhere else at this price. I will definitely be paying Franks Pizza another visit soon!!! read more

My husband and I had a sleep over for our daughter and her friends and ordered from Frank's with high hopes. We called at 9:30 and their menu says on Saturdays they close at 11. Getting off the phone the man said it would take 30 minutes tops. No big deal. After an hour of waiting, with 3 hungry pre teenagers, my husband decided to call and find out what was going on. The man said the delivery guy had 2 stops in Chester then us (we were in Ledgewood) and would be there any minute. Concerned that the food would be cold, the owner told us to call when the delivery man got here and if it was cold, he would eat the bill. At 11:15, we were sick of waiting and figured we'd cut our loss and try to figure out a different option for the hungry kids. After another few minutes, close to an hour and a half of waiting, the pizza guy finally shows up as my husband is calling the owner to say forget it. Everything was cold so while the driver was here, my husband called the owner like he was instructed to do. The owner began to FREAK OUT, insulting my husband, cursing, and threatening to come to our house and "ring his neck". My husband,being a man and a NJ state trooper, was dumbfounded that a business owner would treat a customer in this manner. We offered to pay half of the bill since we felt bad for the driver, which he agreed to. In the aftermath of this mess, our food was ice cold and not even what we ordered. Even if the food was good or not I would never order from this crazy person again. read more
