Everything about this place is top notch: the food, the vibe, and the people. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about vegan food and made fantastic recommendations. The hot pot was hands down the best curry I've ever tasted. The sauce had this gorgeous brightness and depth that made every bite unforgettable. The yam fries with miso gravy were exceptional, and the peanut sauce with the tofu satay was absolute perfection. The dinner ambiance was lovely and cozy and you can tell the servers genuinely enjoy their jobs. That kind of positive energy makes the whole experience even better. If you're in Calgary, vegan or not, The Coup is a must visit. Phenomenal food, phenomenal service, phenomenal atmosphere.

My partner and I went for happy hour, and we were the only ones in the restaurant when we walked in just after 4pm. I really liked having a bit of a quieter atmosphere. Our server was quite personable and recommended a variety of dishes. We got the Brussels sprouts, satay broccoli, eggplant nigiri, and the soup of the day (Indian style tomato chickpea). The Brussels sprouts were punchy in flavor, and the broccoli was nicely fried with an earthy peanuty sauce. I would highly recommend both. I also got the Sunny cider, which wasn't too sweet. To finish off, we got the ube cake to go. Unfortunately it wasn't our favorite, and it was too small a portion to be priced at $12 in my opinion. With happy hour discounts, our bill came out to about $60 including tax and tip. Not cheap, but it works nicely for a little "treat yourself here and there" outing. Hoping to go back sometime in the new year!

The restaurant was pretty spacious and not very busy on a Saturday late afternoon. The place however was a little warm inside, maybe the AC wasn't working as they had some fans on. We ordered the vermicelli dish and pad Thai as the staff told us it was their most popular dish. The pad Thai was indeed one of our favorite. It had a unique smoky flavor to it. We also ordered the pho and eggplant dish. The pho had a surprisingly rich flavor. I would definitely recommend the pho. Overall we were very pleased with our meal and left full with hardly any left overs.

Being a vegetarian, I have had a hard time getting pho that's flavorful but the chefs here have magic in their hands, they have put so much heart and effort in packing so much flavor in their broths! I had the Sate Tofu Noodle Soup, ah can't get the taste out of my head!! Such richness, the freshness of the house made tofu paired with soft rice noodles was just beyond perfection!! The Pad Thai was also delicious: it missed one thing: crushed peanuts which we usually get at Thai restaurants. The restaurant has a very calm and peaceful auto to it!!! Full of large plants and a meditation area, it's a nice getaway from the corporate hustle outside. The place closes at 8, so reach early.

We've done take out a couple of times and dined in for breakfast this morning. Haven't had anything bad at all. My recs are the Korean curry and rice, the "tuna" poke bowl, and the breakfast burrito. My utmost favorite was the sweet chili tofu wrap and the bulgogi burrito (probably one of the best burritos I personally have ever bit into--and being from Texas I've eaten a lot of burritos). As a final note, the service was incredibly nice and we had the chance to meet the owner, Rose (be sure to follow her on her channel, Cheap Lazy Vegan).

There is a pretty good amount of seats given that it's a small space, it's just not a huge place. I got the Japchae and it was perfect. Also the pan fried dumplings were also amazing. The people at my table ordered extra dumplings because we were all obsessed. I also got the lentil pancakes and they were soooo good too. I was sitting with 4 other friends and everyone was so happy with their food so it seems like no matter what you get, it's going to be amazing.

I trekked to your 8th Ave Place (Calgary) location daily for my Oaxaca Bowl and it never disappointed - I enjoyed the same happy, delicious, bountiful bowl day after day after day. But lately, something has changed. The service is still great and the location is clean, but the quality of my beloved Oaxaca Bowl has gone seriously downhill. The bowl used to be so full of goodies that the lid could barely stay on; now, there is room for at least two more generous handfuls of food. The beans and rice now make up more than half of my bowl, with just enough "fresh" stuff to satisfy the menu description. I used to get a nice big fluffy pile of kale; I now get a couple of spoonfuls of the shredded variety. The rice is cold, the avocado is brown (and if I'm lucky, fully peeled), and the dressing is thrown in as an afterthought. The first few times this happened, I thought, "Perhaps the staff is new. Perhaps there is a kale shortage. Give it some time." But I have now received the same sad, pathetic, non-fresh bowl the last dozen times I have gone to this location, and so regrettably the time has come for me to move on to another lunch spot. (I will miss that divine spicy yogurt dressing though. Thank you for that.)

I'm always scared it's going to be overcooked, because at many restaurants the fish usually is, but this was perfectly grilled and well seasoned. The bed of veggies underneath had a really nice, subtle flavor that complemented the fish without overpowering it. I also ordered their banana cocktail, which honestly surprised me. I didn't think I would ever like banana in a cocktail, but it was absolute heaven. Smooth, balanced, and not overly sweet. One of those drinks you think about ordering again halfway through. For food, I also had the braised short ribs, and they were excellent. Super tender, rich, and full of flavor. Definitely one of those comforting dishes that still feels elevated and well executed. The decor deserves its own mention. The space is warm, stylish, and thoughtfully designed, and there's an actual live tree inside the restaurant, which is such a cool touch. You can already tell this place must be incredible in the summer when everything is open and lively. Overall, Porch delivers on food, drinks, and atmosphere.
