I had a rather large crack going across and vertically on my older sprinter van. I called Frank, and he was very courteous and professional in regards to what I needed, as well as suggestions for making the replacement last. Made the appointment, he came by the next week and did the replacement with the van in the driveway. Cleaned up everything, and all looks like it was just installed at the factory. Had a crack in my windshield that was getting longer by the day. My insurance company pushed me towards Safelite, but in a time where small businesses are struggling I wanted to use someone local. I found Frank and with-in a week he got my windshield and was able to instal. Cool dude, let me watch and ask questions (never seen it done before) and had the job done in less than 40 min, which probably took a little longer because I was was there talking to him. The good thing about using local guys is that I feel they want to do right by their customers. They are part of our community. I called Frank's Auto Glass on a Thursday evening when i needed my back windshield replaced. He gave me a price over the phone and was able to install for me the next morning. And since my back windshield wiper was also cracked, he told me to order the parts from Cadillac and he would install them when they came in. He came right out as soon as i had the parts and installed the wiper for free - Cadillac was going to charge me @ $200 for that install! THE WORST !! I have a 911 Porsche and Franks Auto Glass was recommended to me from a friend and I am so sorry I contracted this guy to do work for me. I needed a windshield replaced and I told Frank I would supply the OEM part. The price was high for installation about $400-500. But Frank assured me the "other" guys do not use the same materials and quality, etc. I said to myself, okay this car is my baby and I will get what I paid for. Boy was I wrong ! My 911 is perfect in every way (in and out). Frank is nearly completed with the job and he comes to me and says, "hey I just want to let you know I found a big tear hole in the front seat of your 911". I was like WHAT?. I looked at it and I was shocked !! A huge tear hole right in the middle of the seat. Frank swears it wasn't him. But not one sits in my front seat, nor do I place any objects ever on my seats. Besides, I am so fanatical about my car, I am always looking at it (in and out). I always place my cell phone on my seat everyday when I drive to work. I would have noticed a gaping hole immediately. IMPOSSIBLE !! Frank is working with sharp pointed tools which I viewed in his hands. He must have thought I was stupid. I didn't say anything to him because I don't like confrontation. It cost me $375 to repair the seat and it still doesn't look good. I am furious ! Wait it gets better. The rubber seals on the windshield were not matched up and even after the job was done. When I called Frank, he said he will be right back to fix it. Hours later he calls me to say he had another job and needed to get do. (What was that about customer service and quality work?). He comes back and fixes the rubber seals. The next day I used my windshield washer and it was spraying 60% off of the windshield. Mind you it was perfect before !! When I explained this to Frank, he said he didn't touch the nozzles and I had defective nozzles. SERIOUSLY? Talk about adding insult to injury. Wait it gets even better. I have explained my entire discourse to Frank about the installation and he respectfully says on a voice mail to me that if I wasn't happy with the job, he would offer me a full refund. I thought about this and said, yes to myself. This was the worst experience and my car is permanently damaged as well. I will accept his offer for a refund. This is the topper, when I called Frank to accept his offer for a refund, he turns around and says, "I thought about it and I am not giving you a refund". I was like WHAT?. How do you offer a refund as a professional business owner and rescind that same offer. I should have realized this snake oil approach. Lastly, I told the story to my friend Bruno who is in a similar business and he said he was surprised at Franks account for the nozzle spray. He said he needed to remove the cowl covering with the attached nozzles in order to replace the windshield. He just didn't want to come here to reset it properly. In short, Bruno took it a part and reset it for me. It works perfectly now. Oh, and the leather repair specialist made a point to comment about the big tear hole in the seat. He said this is extremely tough leather and only a sharp tool could have made this hole in the seat. I thought so !! Bottom line, If you see a truck that says Franks Auto Glass, Run in the opposite direction !!!! No repeat business here. He's a churn and burn dealer. read more
