I had my first surgery at Franklin Surgery Center today and I had a very pleasant experience. The front desk staff was kind and welcoming. My nurse (I think her name was Marlene) was friendly and explained everything she was doing and encouraged any questions. I'd never had an IV before and she inserted it expertly and mostly pain free. The anesthesiologist was very patient and made sure I understood what medicine he was giving me and why and what I could expect over the next few days pain-wise. After I woke up my new nurse (cannot remember her name) was just as great as the first. She made sure I was comfortable and warm, promptly got me something to drink, and contacted my friend to come sit with me. The only reason I gave four stars is because when we were going over billing timelines what FSC told me was different than what the Care Credit website had said. I spoke to the office manager and he was able to change something in the system to allow me to pay on the timeline Care Credit had promised. I have a four star rating because this situation caused anxiety but wish I could give 4.5 stars because they were able to offer a quick solution. Would recommend this facility to anyone. read more

First and Foremost READ ALL THE REVIEWS before going! With that said, I was scheduled for a colonoscopy today but I felt like this place isn't sufficient to perform these kind of procedures. This review is going to be lengthy so please be patient while you read it. First. The waiting room is very small and very crowded. The elevator is so loud so while you are in the waiting room that's all you can hear. Second. The front desk worker is not discreet when discussing copays. I was not told ahead of time I was expected to pay 1400 when I have already met my deductible. I had only brought my drivers license and insurance card with me because I knew I would be going under anesthesia and I didn't want my son to have to hold all my things. I told the front desk worker no one told me I had to pay my copay upfront she then said (in a snotty voice) yes they did they called and left a voicemail on August 20th. I looked at all my voicemails (because I keep everything from my drs and clinics) and there was no message left. I showed her my phone showing there was no call from them on my call history or any voicemail left. (She acted like I was lying) I told her I didn't not come prepared to pay and could they do the procedure and bill me since I had already went through the preparation process to have the procedure. She said I'll have to ask my manager. She came back and said if you could pay 1/2 we can do it today. I'm sorry what part didn't you understand when I said I didn't come prepared to pay. Again, I said I only brought my license and insurance card with me. She said you'll have to reschedule then. I was so frustrated could she not look at where I live and see that obviously it wasn't a financial situation it was I didn't bring a debit/credit card with me. ‍ All of this happened so anyone in the waiting area could hear. She could have shut the door, closed the glass window to try to respect my privacy but she didn't care. I literally felt 2" tall. I read one review saying the nurses were making fun of patients still under sedation. Another review said she was having trouble breathing and come to find out she had aspirated and that she had tried to tell them but they sent her home anyway. She ended up with pneumonia. I could go on for another 10 minutes but I will spare y'all. I immediately called my gastroenterologist and told her I wanted her to do it and I wanted it down at Williamson Medical Hospital. My Dr had referred me to Dr Sree to do my colonoscopy because my case is more complex and Dr Lindsey felt like he should do it. But no thank you. If he chooses a crappy location to do procedures like this here then I don't want him doing my procedure. Be careful using this facility and do your research before you go there. A medical place here in Franklin should have way more stars than just 3. read more

Dr Caudill and all my other care providers( Ben, Kim, Corrie, Tip and Cheyenne) were are super! They were caring, professional and thorough.

I had cataract surgery in 2022 Was told didn't owe any more money My insurance paid and my daughter paid my surgeon extra for lens Two months later get statement I owe $1400 then month later a different amount. I called phone number on statement and lady said throw statement away I don't owe anything. Later get statement I owe $650. I call Franklin Surgery and ask to speak to business manager and receptionist says she will ask him my question. Now say I owe $ for lens to them. I send $30 a month and will till paid. they send me demand for full payment every month read more

This visit was for a pediatric surgery! I thought it went very well. The center is located right next to the hotel (Hilton Garden Inn). The nurses took very well care of my son! Overall I felt that everyone worked together and efficiently, it felt like a "well oiled machine"! Minimal waiting time for my 5 year old. Very thankful. read more

My experience with customer service and level of care at the center was 5 STAR FANTASTIC!! HOWEVER--Their billing dept HAS NO CLUE WHAT THEY'RE DOING. First, I was told the whole procedure would be covered by my HRA, by two different people. I go to the center, checking in, same story, I owe nothing bc it's covered by my HRA. One month later I get a bill for $726.85!!! I called, infuriated, the billing guy "Chester" (he seems to be the only billing guy bc that's the only person I've ever talked to, and now that's the only person who's voice mail I keep getting). He didn't even know what HRA was. My insurance company explained in detail why the surgery center was way wrong for saying it'd be covered since my deductible hadn't been met yet for HRA to kick in. I paid the full amount online 1/26 when I understood that FSC messed up bigtime in telling me it would be covered. SINCE then, I've now received two more bills saying I still owe the same amount I paid on 1/26. I've literally called SIX TIMES over the past two months to tell them to pull their heads out of their asses and that I have proof of payment. NO HUMAN BEING WILL ANSWER THE DAMN PHONE. I have left message after message after message for Chester Mayfield since apparently he's the only person in the entire company who handles billing--or at least acts as recipient of billing voice mails. I can't get him to call me back no matter what message I leave. I call all different times a day, doesn't matter. I'm one phone call away from taking time OUT of my busy work schedule and driving my angry ass to the building until SOMEBODY takes care of this issue! If you go there....you'll get one, maybe two, maybe three surveys...I recommend to wait until the bill is settled and THEN fill it out! read more

Last Friday I had a surgical procedure at Franklin Surgery Center and could not have been happier in a very anxious moment. The receptionist was warm and inviting and then Kim and Tip both put me at ease prior to the procedure and afterwards. Facility was clean and organized and made this very nervous client happy and I hope not to have another procedure but if I do and possible to complete at Franklin Surgery Center then I will want it to be there! read more

Had my colonoscopy done here this morning and I have to say the entire staff was great. From check in to release, all went smoothly and on time. Friendly, caring staff. Dr Max Caudill was my doctor and I highly recommend him as well. You can not go wrong with this place. Much better than a "cold" hospital. read more

My son had tubes placed in both ears and an adenectomy performed in December of 2017. The surgery went well and he recovered fully from the procedure, better for having had it performed. When the bill for the facility fees arrived, there were a number of line items that did not make sense and that didn't have a standard code associated with them. I called the billing department to have them walk me through the itemized bill, so that I could make sense of it before paying it. The gentleman on the other end of the call was courteous, but also stated that he had no idea what some of the line items were or represented. I explained to him that I am not one to pay a requested amount when there doesn't seem to be clarity or justification for the amount. I then offered to pay the amount that I could make sense of from what he had explained. He declined. I asked him if he could connect me with someone who could explain the mystery line items. He said he could not. I explained that my offer still stood and would continue to until a better explanation was given for the billed amounts. We hung up with no resolution. The only correspondence from USPI's Franklin Surgery Center that followed that conversation was a repeated mailing of the same bill. I have subsequently put the details of my interaction with them into a letter, and restated the condition that without a reasonable explanation for the billed amount, that my offer to settle the amount still stood. The bill has now been referred to collections and based on the Surgery Center's conduct and failure to provide any explanation for the mystery line items, I fully expect that this will have to be resolved in court. A very unfortunate and very unnecessary outcome as I have been willing to pay the bill from the start and have simply requested an explanation. If you have other options, take them. read more

Recently had shoulder surgery here and as a nurse, I could never recommend this facility. I was given pre-op medication that I specifically said I did not want, without informed consent. Then had side effects, with no nurse ever checking on me. Thankfully, my husband was with me. No one in our family will ever go here again. One and done! read more

This place is awesome: The Franklin Surgery Center @ 9160 Caruthers by Cool Springs is a GREAT place ESPECIALLY for children, my 4 yr old had her tonsils & adenoids removed yesterday & they made sure I understood everything before & after & they just called to see how she's doing 24 hrs after she left there...They truely care & it shows!!!
