Earlier this summer someone told me about free sewing classes at Franklin Public Library. I signed up and was pleasantly surprised by the vast amount of free activities at this library. There are so many different things to try. And, they have a Creative room where people can use shared craft supplies, legos, STEM toys, etc. For the sewing class, I do have to bring my own machine, but I see the shelves have rubber stamp and crochet materials; I'm sure there is more but I haven't really taken the time to look through them. It makes me jealous that my local town's library doesn't have nearly as many offerings! I'm really grateful for this library, their inclusiveness, and the plethora of recreational activities they provide for the community. read more

The library is one of the few social services that people *seem* to agree on or perhaps the annihilating gaze of the anti-everything crowd just hasn't settled on it yet. For those who are looking for diversion and entertainment, a work of fiction, a newspaper, a magazine, maybe movies or compact discs are available. The have an excellent selection of analog assets. For those interested in being well informed, as of now, this is also a fabulous resource of non-fiction tomes. You can get information on nearly any topic. If you use some common sense and discretion selecting a resource it may be filled with thoughtfully considered and often actual factually backed evidence. The thing might even offer a depth of information to build real understanding and vision of a topic beyond click-bait and trigger memes. They have a hold system so if you know what you want you can just wait for them to pull it and run in for it without browsing. Additionally, there is a drive up drop off making the whole process painless. You can even get the smart phone app and use your card to check out audio and e-books, videos and other materials without even leaving your sofa. We love the Franklin Library! In particular, the children's area is really nice. There's a big, fake tree with comfy chairs inside where kids can read, plus toys, puzzles and, of course, books! They are well organized and helpful. Looking for a book on a particular subject? Ask a friendly librarian! If Franklin doesn't have it, a librarian will help you order it from another library. I highly recommend the Milwaukee County Libraries app - you can put books on hold, search the catalog for all county libraries, renew books, and find out when your books are due. I came to this library kind of by accident. I had purpose for being there, I caught wind of a 90 family kids rummage that they hold in one of the halls here, and when I arrived at 11:30, they decided to go on their hour long lunch break (lunch break for a rummage? C'mon, man!). So I decided to explore the library, and boy I'm glad I did. This library is anything you want out of a library. It's huge and has a ton of materials, but it also has a ton of room so most shelves aren't cluttered. Books, CD's, DVD's, Audiobooks, you name it. Even the children's area is impressive, they have a huge tree you can sit inside of and tons of kids books. Best of all, they're part of the County catalogue, so my Milwaukee Public Library card works here. I will definitely be back. read more

This is a very nice library. Too bad it's a little far away from other stores, there's not much in the area but the library is great. It's huge and have lot's of reading material the layout is nice and I would probably go back. I like that it's spaced out and not very crowded read more

This library is beautiful, and well laid-out. They're apart of the county cat system, so you can request items to be shipped there, and set aside for you to pick up conveniently. The staff is always friendly, but you can completely bypass them with the easy self-checkout computers! read more

I hadn't really thought to give my public library a review, but it's better and more useful than most eateries I've been to. Of course it has books and magazines (some don't) plus computers for public use. The youth area is nice with a "tree" for quiet reading. It's also a hub of community activity with nice meeting rooms for civic organizations. It's close to the public parks and city hall - and a short walk for my family. read more

Super nice library. Not sure when it was built, but it seems really new. The front columns are very regal. They layout is nice and that have comfy chairs in front of a fireplace for you to sit and peruse books. They even have an outside patio. Their new books section seems to have a great selection of new books, even those by popular authors that are typically snatched up quickly. They also, of couse, are part of the larger Milwakee County library system, so you can get books from other libraries sent to you here or return books from other Milwaukee County libraries here. They also seem to have a lot of children, adult, and senior events going on here. The epitome of what a wonderful library should be. read more

Best library in suburban Milwaukee. A building with countless study rooms, and conference rooms for public use. A massive selection of books, and a good staff of librarians. It has a tree for the kids to read and play in. It's an architectural masterpiece inside and out. They also are very involved in the community. Was the best public investment from the city of Franklin. read more

Huge and beautiful modern library. My 4-year-old daughter loves the reading tree. I've been to most of the libraries in the Milwaukee county system, and this one is probably the nicest. read more

This library is bigger in comparison to the other neighborhood libraries and they have a good collection of books but most of the books are damaged. The books have water damage,scribbles,old ,falling apart and not in great shape.You will be surprised that some of us don't want to issue any books from there as they fine you for damaging books which were already damaged in the first place. They also on multiple occasions claim that they can't circulate the book because you damaged it ( which was issued damaged) and you can take picture of damaged books being circulated on their shelves at any visit. Some staff members are also very rude and bossy . Just disappointed that they don't treat you well and young generation can't have great joy of reading like before any more. Can anyone suggest how to file a official complaint against such practice !! read more

A very nice building, but the lack of books makes me wonder why they call it a library. Don't plan on finding any book that is "older"-they seem to get rid of everything once it is a few years old. It's not that they don't have the space, the shelves are always more than half empty. I can go to other suburban libraries and find a wealth of books from all eras with interesting things in them. Yes, they are older, but that is what a library is for- to be able to find information to read or research. We have to laugh and call Franklin the "pop culture library"-it's like urban renewal on a book basis- if it's not new, get rid of it-no matter how interesting or valuable it might be to someone looking for it. read more

The worst library in the Milwaukee County System. Obviously spent too much money on their building and not enough on their paltry collection. I won't even get into the rude, self-righteous staff. And beware their "fees". That's the way, apparently, they are financing the building. With so many libraries to choose from in Milwaukee County, most with far better collections, there is no need to patronize this provincial, back-water rube of a library. read more
