Julius was the representative I dealt with. Explained to him type of mortgage(refi), I wanted. Impounded, buy down rate if need be and take out cash. We spoke for approximately 30 minutes. I gave him all my information and he stated he would call me back with an offer. He ran my credit and needless to say he didn't call back. I called him a few times with no response and always left a message on his voice-mail and I even texted him. Finally called the main office and spoke to a supposed manager whom stated he would have him call me back. I received a text from him stating he would call me tomorrow. Matt Hearn, with Franklin Direct, is professional, personable, educational, and most importantly he does NOT come across as a salesman trying to earn his commission!! (my wife & I pride ourselves on being educated, not being sold to). Let's face it, loan officers don't get paid until clients complete their loan process. Matt wasn't pushy, at all, during my entire refinance process. He took his time educating my wife and I every step of the way. He even provided a strategy that would've decreased his commission. Initially we were going to use another reputable broker, but that broker had me focus on getting the lowest rate (with a very hefty cost to me), but getting the lowest rate isn't always the best approach (I learned this as a loan officer myself back in 2003). Sometimes getting a little higher rate actually works out better (kind of counterintuitive, I know). Only experienced and knowledgeable loan officers can offer strategies that work better for the homeowner. Don't just focus on the lowest rate.
