We were referred to Jason by a coworker. Both him and his wife are very knowledgeable and take the…read moretime to explain things. Jason made us feel like a friend and not a client. So we were shocked when after they sold our house, we never heard from them again. We were in the process of trying to find if we could afford a nice neighborhood in California. Leyla told us she would call us back with some options. Last we heard they were heading to our newly sold house to hand it over to the new owners. Not a word since. Not a thank you for your business or congratulations on selling your home. Nothing. It was very bizarre. Like they disappeared. We hope they are doing well and nothing bad happen. However, it was very odd and worth mentioning. Especially after such a positive interaction with them up until that point. The only negative experiences we had is when we were troubled that they let a Realtor bring a lot of traffic through our house when they said they were only bringing their one client. We didn't want unknown people walking through our house without supervision because we have had bad experiences in the past with people stealing things etc and having no way to track who did it. We wanted someone there to obviously oversee the foot traffic or at least know who was walking through our home. Lastly, we were given a lot of paperwork via email or mail and were expected to go through everything ourselves. So when we didn't do things right Jason seemed upset at times but if he would have gone over the paperwork with us in person it would have been easier to determine what he wanted. They lived an hour away from us so I think it was inconvenient. I would recommend always meeting in person based on our experience. Other then those things. Overall, they are rare amongst a sea of corrupt snakes in this business. Also, we got to meet a fantastic inspector recommended by them. His name is Will. Another rare bird :)

In June, based on the Rocket advertisements on Instagram I submitted an on-line inquiry for an…read moreequity loan. Within minutes of my submission I received a text and an email from both Eric and an alleged direct employee of Rocket. Eric and I communicated through text and agreed to speak by telephone the next afternoon. Three hours after the time he agreed to call me I finally had to text him. Ultimately he did call me a few hours LATER and I gave him all of my information, explaining that my DTI was high and income low, but the loan would give me the opportunity to get ahead of all of this and I had a small amount of help from someone but didn't know how to incorporate that into the application. He said based on a "soft pull" he could possibly help me. He told me someone would call me the next day; 3days later I had still not received a phone call and emailed Eric. Ultimately he said my credit check showed a 30 day late 6 months prior and therefore they could not lend if there was a 30 day late in 12 months. I had not had any late payments on my credit report for more than 10 years prior to encountering the financial difficulties I was seeking to resolve. BTW, I also had emailed the direct employee at Rocket and he never responded at all. I write all of this to point out that Rocket is NOT interested in assistance if your income is low and even if you have substantial equity in your home to work with. Rocket Mortgage is not interested in helping someone who has had ANY financial issues. Ultimately those ads about HELOC and equity loans are only useful BEFORE you have financial problems not during. And the design there is to have some broker make a steep profit while you go further into debt rather than use your equity to get out. BEWARE-the promises to help are extremely conditional.

I'll start by saying that I'm typically cynical of real estate agents due to some bad experiences…read morein the past. However, Bob completely changed the way that I view real estate agents (and the value that they can provide). We just moved into our dream house in Aliso Viejo thanks to Bob's experience and strategic thinking. Bob is a highly-skilled and experienced agent who understands the pulse of the market and is able to provide expertise during the search. When we started our search, he showed us a house that was at the upper end of our budget. At that point, we were ready to move forward with an offer and considered canceling the other scheduled viewings later in the day. Bob insists that we see the other homes before making a decision. It was extremely good advice as we ended up falling in love with another house that happened to be priced $200K less. Any other agent would have jumped to close the deal, especially with the potential of high commission on an expensive house. However, I felt like Bob was constantly looking out for our interests. When it came to presenting an offer, Bob worked with us to structure a unique offer that allowed us to compete on a hot property (and ultimately win). Afterwards, we learned that we were not the highest offer either (among the 28 submitted offers). However, due to Bob's networking and strategic thinking, we were able to construct a compelling and persuasive offer that allowed us to stand out. Lastly, Bob is a relationship person who has a strong network and presence in the area. This can be extremely helpful when in a hot market, and can honestly "make or break" the situation. Bob is also extremely responsive and dedicated. There were several times during the process when we were anxiously waiting to hear back from the selling team, and Bob would proactively contact us with updates. He even drove over to speak with the selling agent when he wasn't getting a clear response. That was above and beyond our expectations. Again, Bob broke my perception of real estate agents -- he provided so much value to our search. I honestly believe that his expertise, experience, and emotional intelligence helped us to get our home. Long story short -- don't hesitate to hire Bob for your next home search. He is an honest and trustworthy person who has your best interest at heart and is willing to think "outside the box" to help his clients get their dream home.
