Sunset view from 18 hole tee box

Since we started to play this golf course earlier in the year we witnessed enormous improvements. Every month some good things happen. But, what's the most important for us great people work here and they are all this time on the highest level of customer service. The golf course is challenging enough for average players to enjoy every single time playing here. Greens are well maintained and pretty challenging. River Club membership provides you a free drink, enough to attract you to stay and patronize the "Persimmon Pub"

We have loved every bit of our membership here. The service is great, and the food is fantastic!…read more Becca is always accommodating and is responsive when it comes to group family events. We love the pool events, and we will be doing golf camp this week for our 5 year old. Easter and Christmas time are magical times for the club with tons of social events. So despite the long drive down Concord road to places I never visit, I pulled into the guard gate, told them my name and party, and was allowed to enter. SWAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNKKKKKKKYYYYYY neighborhood y'all. Like really SWANK. Like country stars and billionaires swanky. Need to learn to play golf on that golf course so I can catch me a sugar daddy, no? Anyway, the mansion was Pleasant Hill, an old house built in 1854 by Colonel Winstead. It has been restored with period decor and is quite interesting to check out. They have room to set up tables for groups of diners and apparently even have weddings/receptions here. There's a large outdoor patio area for the same type thing. There's even a separate bar area so that people arriving can gather in there to get drinks and not block up the space between the tables since it is a little crammed in there when fully set up. The staff is welcoming and seem to really love being there which adds a nice Southern charm to the whole thing. Food was your standard group dinner stuff - salad with some really good thick balsalmic vinaigrette, entree was steak on one side, chicken on the other, and roasted vegetables and potatoes in the middle. Steak was medium well and a little on the bland side, chicken was standard. Overall just really average but when cooking for a large group it wasn't bad. The dessert was a decadent chocolate cake with white icing but the chocolate syrup covering it was definitely Hershey's syrup. Not like that's a bad thing! Overall seems like a really nice place to have a unique group dinner, rehearsal dinner, etc. And apparently if you live over there and are a member (of what? not sure) you get a deal on this. So move over to the neighborhood and then invite me over to your swanky place!

I've been a loyal Golf Galaxy customer for a while and have purchased many things from the store,…read morebut unfortunately, my experiences there have become extremely frustrating because of an employee named Dakota. I've been to the store multiple times, and each time I've felt uncomfortable and unwelcome because of the way I've been treated. I often feel like I'm being watched or treated as if I've done something wrong simply because I walked into the store. I've also felt like I wasn't allowed to do many of the things I normally would expect to be able to do as a customer. What makes this especially disappointing is that I genuinely love golf, and these experiences have made going into the store something I no longer look forward to. I should be able to shop and enjoy my time at Golf Galaxy without feeling like I'm being treated like a criminal. I've tried expressing my concerns through reviews before, but they have been removed, which has made me even more frustrated because I simply want my experience to be heard. I'm not looking for special treatment--I just want to be treated with the same respect as any other customer. I'm a loyal customer who has spent a lot of money at Golf Galaxy, and I hope management takes the time to look into my experiences and make sure customers are treated fairly and respectfully.

I went from barely breaking 90 to an 8 handicap in one season thanks to the incredible people at GolfTec. I was extremely disappointed with my experience here, especially as a beginner…read more Before booking, I called to confirm a few things: 1. Whether this would be a good fit for a beginner 2. Whether they could help me determine if I should play lefty or righty (I'm ambidextrous) 3. Whether my partner and I could take lessons around the same time I was told 1) yes 2) yes and 3) yes, but back-to-back. Which gave me confidence to book. Before the lesson, I completed the online questionnaire and spoke directly with the instructor, Rocco, clearly stating that my main goal was to figure out my handedness. I was assured this would be addressed. During the lesson, however, I was only given a left-handed club and never had the opportunity to try a right-handed swing. Even when I asked if I should switch, I was told we would continue with left-handed only. Since determining my handedness was the primary reason I booked, as well as something I confirmed multiple times, this was extremely frustrating. Additionally, a significant portion of the session focused on discussing long-term lesson packages, which made it feel more like a sales pitch than a $95 instructional session. After the lesson, my partners instructor asked me if I decided on left or right, and I replied that my instructor only gave me the chance to swing left. The other instructor seemed surprised. My partner did pick up a few helpful tips during their lesson, which is why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. However, we both felt some pressure to sign up for additional packages, and I ultimately did not receive the specific guidance I came in for. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this location for beginners looking for personalized instruction or help getting started.

Then it occurred to…read moreme that the better way would be to sign up for a "Fitting" and allow another pair off eyes to watch and work with me so the right decision would be made. That's when I was paired with Travis Roe yesterday morning to guide me through the process. Needless to say it was an experience worth signing up for. Travis asked the right questions when we met, put together a number of different shafts and heads to work through, he was constantly getting my feedback throughout the process, and in the end we were on the same page when it came to making the correct decision concerning my upcoming purchase of a new set of irons. I have not looked back since placing my order for the new sticks because I know that what I'll be swinging will have my fingerprint on it. I came into the store not having ever met Travis, and then left the store knowing I had a friend I could continue to stay in contact with as I work through the rest of my bag in the future. I highly recommend the process of getting fit, otherwise a person will keep buying new clubs every year only to keep getting the same results. In the end, you'll end up saving money and start enjoying your golf in a new way. Mark

I suspect management didn't expect a post luncheon surge on a holiday weekend. They have custom fitting and virtual driving ranges. So go in and try before you buy. They have all major brands available and starter bag kits. The women's section was sparse though. A great selection of second hand clubs, although I did see a Hybrid with duct tape holding it together listed for $75. That's nonconforming and illegal for play. Plus, it's broken. So any budget works here, although $2000 will get you nicely fitted.
