I suspect management didn't expect a post luncheon surge on a holiday weekend. They have custom fitting and virtual driving ranges. So go in and try before you buy. They have all major brands available and starter bag kits. The women's section was sparse though. A great selection of second hand clubs, although I did see a Hybrid with duct tape holding it together listed for $75. That's nonconforming and illegal for play. Plus, it's broken. So any budget works here, although $2000 will get you nicely fitted.

This Academy Sports sits near the intersection of Mallory and Nichol Mill, not far from Cool…read moreSprings Galleria, and is your standard Academy location for the most part. My office is not too far from here, so when I am after something specific, in my most recent case, a weighted vest, I swing by this location. Of course, even though I am after something specific, I always browse their gym clothes and shoe wall. The store is well lit, well kept and clean. Service is standard. I am acknowledged on the floor and the cashiers are friendly and helpful when needed. Overall, while I did not find the type of vest I was after, I enjoy this location for what it is, and surely will be back when the need arises again!

I've been a loyal Golf Galaxy customer for a while and have purchased many things from the store,…read morebut unfortunately, my experiences there have become extremely frustrating because of an employee named Dakota. I've been to the store multiple times, and each time I've felt uncomfortable and unwelcome because of the way I've been treated. I often feel like I'm being watched or treated as if I've done something wrong simply because I walked into the store. I've also felt like I wasn't allowed to do many of the things I normally would expect to be able to do as a customer. What makes this especially disappointing is that I genuinely love golf, and these experiences have made going into the store something I no longer look forward to. I should be able to shop and enjoy my time at Golf Galaxy without feeling like I'm being treated like a criminal. I've tried expressing my concerns through reviews before, but they have been removed, which has made me even more frustrated because I simply want my experience to be heard. I'm not looking for special treatment--I just want to be treated with the same respect as any other customer. I'm a loyal customer who has spent a lot of money at Golf Galaxy, and I hope management takes the time to look into my experiences and make sure customers are treated fairly and respectfully.

I found Club Champion after my son had used them for his new clubs. I was paired with Eric who was easy to work with and made the whole experience very smooth as he took the time to explain every step of the process and how they were going to take the data collected from my various swings and use it to match me to MY perfect set of clubs that would fit MY game. We spent time swinging all sorts of clubs with different setups until I found the right fit. I am looking forward to my new clubs and can't say recommend Club Champion enough.

If you are looking to get fitted for new clubs, make sure you schedule an appointment ahead of time. This is the best method to ensure someone is available to dedicate one-on-one time with you. I've done this twice and never had issues.

Dakota may be the most unfriendly employee I've encountered at this store. On my most recent visit,…read morehe told his coworkers to "keep an eye on" me -- loud enough for me to hear -- which is the second time he's done this to me. When I asked to pay for bay time, he refused and cited a rule requiring a 24-hour advance booking, even though the bays were completely open. I checked, and this isn't a policy Golf Galaxy actually has. I'm a Golf Galaxy member and a repeat customer at this location -- I've made multiple purchases here and have always been respectful while shopping. All I'm asking for is to be treated like any other paying customer, not watched like a suspect for no reason.

I don't know if the tragically low ratings are warranted. But I do agree that there are several…read moredisappointments here. My wife was in search of the famed Bombas socks, size large. Good luck with that because all we found were small and medium. Have you not noticed the plethora of tall, athletic women in Williamson County? Note, Bombas socks are not with the socks near the shoe section because they find the need to have two sock sections. She also found an unusually low stock of leggings (compared to other Dick's) outside of the Calia brand that she doesn't prefer. Again, see comments about athletic females in this county. On the bright side, they're definitely keeping up with the Williamson County lacrosse craze and offer a tremendous variety of equipment in all popular sports for young people (except maybe ice hockey). So at least somebody there is paying attention to what they're selling.

As with most Dick's, they have a solid selection of sportswear and you can usually get a solid deal on good quality athletic and athleisure wear. My only gripe with this location is the service, or lack thereof. On my last two trips in I was looking for something specific and needed assistance locating. Finding an associate that wasn't on the registers was nearly impossible, and when I did spot one, they seemed to scatter when they felt I was going to approach with a question. On both trips, I ultimately just looked, didn't find and left. And oddly on my way out, both cashiers who were not assisting other customers didn't even interact. The store is kept in good condition and is clean on each visit. Always stocked well and easy to navigate. Overall, not the best Dick's experiences.
