We had a pretty terrible start to my birthday meal. A pub lunch that really didn't get off the ground. But Frankie and Benny's saved the day for us.
They made us feel special. They offered us a really cool booth, but we are something of a Reubenesque family, it wasn't you g to work, so they found us somewhere more suitable. The staff were attentive. Our one complaint ward that my sister's Tango tasted a bit weird. She told them and it was immediately replaced.
We had a Meat Feast Sharing Platter and a pizza garlic bread for starters. At there were five adults, this was the perfect size. All that was left was rib bones and a bit of ketchup.
We had
Chicken and mushroom penne - piping hot and tasty.
Chicken pitta served with chips - my sister in law loves their barbecue sauce.
Sticky ribs - dad said theory were lovely. Once we'd worked out exactly how to eat them.
Bacon double cheese burger - it defeated my sister. It was a source of sorrow for all of us.
Chicken and bacon salad. I asked for more vignagret but I didn't need it. It was spot on.
We had pudding too - brownies, chocolate fudge cake, apple pie and a banoffee basket.
The staff also made my day by giving me a birthday cupcake and playing Stevie Wonder's Happy Birthday.
To top it off, my sister in law downloaded the Frankie and Benny's app and we got 50% of the main courses which made my dad really happy.
I know that our future celebrations will be at this restaurant. They saved my birthday. read more
