Turtle fudge was full of creamy caramel and crunchy pecans.

Frankenmuth Fudge Kitchen is smart. I liked that they set up their store to create an experience while also accommodating large crowds. On the day of our visit, the candy maker demonstrated the fudge-making process. Even though tens of millions of Americans make fudge at home, crowds still gathered to see the magical process of transforming ingredients into a large loaf of fudge. Opposite and adjacent to the fudge-making operation, there were four (maybe six) stations where fudge was being sold, so the undecided did not have to hold up the decided. I went with the turtle, chocolate fudge laced with pecans and caramel, and salted caramel cashew. In retrospect, they were too alike: fudge with caramel and a nut. I should have gone with the cherry fudge, mint, or raspberry chocolate. There were also sugar-free and vegan options. Note that at the time of the visit, if you purchased three, you can get the fourth one free. Service was fine. As I mentioned, the store was set up to expedite the purchase process - something I appreciated.

Wow it is so peaceful on a week day at the Fudge Kitchen. We walked in and only one other person was in line. We got to sample a few flavors to see what we wanted. They charge about $10 per brick which varies depending on the weight. If you buy 3 you get one free. I came with my husband and father in law, so we decided to buy 3 of them to get the deal. They were all delicious. They do give you a few wooden knives to cut them. They also have a card that explains you have to keep them room temperature and to not put them in the fridge. You can freeze them for up to a year. They will last about 3 weeks at room temperature. I really suggest coming on a week day. We came Friday and it was a great experience.

Great place to watch fudge being made! It's defiantly a stop in place- a must see. Don't forget to sample the fudge before making up your mind- the samples are the best way to know what fudge taste best before you buy! They also had some good taffy!

I am shocked I haven't reviewed Frankenmuth Fudge Kitchen sooner! My family has stopped here on our annual trip to Frankenmuth for as long as I can remember. If you're lucky you can always watch the employees make the fudge, which is really cool! This fudge shop offers plenty of options for everyone. My go-to is salted caramel cashew or rocky road. There's plenty of space to check out all the flavor offerings. They used to offer samples, but I'm unsure if that's a thing thanks to the pandemic. Everyone here has always been kind. If you buy 3 slices of fudge you can get one free. The total is around $21 or so. Great deal! Fudge also doesn't melt so you don't have to worry about that! Stop in today!

Tourist trap candy shop... nothing new. Get samples and feed your sweet tooth. Nothing special.

Watch it made before your eyes, don one of their free caps and get a free sample (generous portion)! That sums up my encounter here. We walked in as a large batch of caramel infused chocolate fudge was being molded on the cold slab of marble. It's fascinating to see this process done by hand and equally impressive is the vast variety of fudge concoctions produced inhouse. I think we spent nearly 15-minutes just watching the man shape and trim the huge log. I was content with watching but when he offered my family samples we all said yes. So rich, so chocolatey, so decadent and heavy. I can't really eat this stuff anymore but if I was to buy someone something special I'd consider coming here.

My husband sampled a fudge and then bought some. They gave it to him in a pre-packed box and it was old and crumbly. Nasty.

The bigger issue for me is the pricing and consistency. Charging an extra $1 for alternative milk in 2026 feels a little like cash grab? Especially when a lot of people order it out of necessity, not preference. On top of that, the specialty lattes have gone up another dollar in the past year, which makes the quality even more important. I've had good drinks here before, so I know they CAN do it well but this last visit was rough. My $6.50 "specialty" latte tasted like burnt coffee water with none of the flavor I ordered. For that 20% increase in price, I expect to actually taste the specialty part. That said, the employees were genuinely kind and super helpful. They happily added more almond milk to help salvage my very sad latte, and I appreciated their attitude a lot. Overall it's a cute spot with sweet staff, but the pricing and drink consistency need some serious attention. I'd love to see them tighten things up because it really could be great.

No spontaneous afternoon is complete without some ice cream, and I quickly found a place there that served some big scoops. After mulling over a number of flavors (sadly, not able to sample at this time of the pandemic) I decided on a small serving of cake batter ice cream. I was expecting something about a third of the size, but I wasn't going to complain -- never a thing as too much ice cream! I grabbed a table outside in the shopping center and dug in, but sadly found that I couldn't finish the whole serving. Hot temperatures melting the ice cream plus me filling up on the huge serving meant that a bit of it went to waste. It's an ideal size to share with someone if you just need a little something sweet! Still, when the warm weather has you screaming for ice cream, it's not a bad place to grab a scoop!
