This is a great spot, with a very knowledgeable staff. Frank is fantastic, and they have a sweet dog who "guards" the place. Fair rates and great service! read more

I will never go here again. I got my ring resized but couldn't pick it up for weeks bc they kept closing early without notice. I even went w my hubby to pick out a piece together after work to pick out jewelry together but they were closed earlier than the posted hours. My ring stayed hostage for weeks and when I actually got to go pick it up bc it was finally open, he tried to overcharge me. Claimed it was tax when I had even asked if the original price was inclusive of tax. Disappointing. read more

Located in the loop - easy and efficient to get a new watch battery. Would recommend!

Fast, Effective & Great attention to detail! Frank listened to exactly what I wanted and he made it happen! Very satisfied!

I love this store! Beautiful pieces and lots of variety. I had some jewelry my grandmother gave me that didn't fit, and Frank customized some pieces into one to fit my personality. Also GREAT pricing for the quality. Frank is super personable and will help you find exactly what you're looking for. I recommend this place to all my friends. read more

Frank is a fantastic store owner! I walked in and showed him my watch and he was happy to fix it for FREE right on the spot! It's very hard to find store owners like Frank anymore. Well deserved reviews! My wife was very, very happy with his work. Brought her engagement ring to be repaired per a bent prong. Frank was honest over the phone with me that depending on the nature of the bend that it may require additional gold to repair. Upon his inspection, he said that was not the case. Also brought in her wedding band for resizing along with a watch that needed a battery replaced. The rings look like new, fit even better, and throughout the entire process we felt like valued customers. Grateful for the professionalism and quality work. read more

I took a charm bracelet and an earring to be repaired. The charm bracelet just needed a charm added & the jeweler told me that this would be $5. The earring was white gold with diamonds & one part had broken off. The jeweler said that that BOTH earrings should probably be repaired & he would add gold to each earring to make them stronger & he told me that it would be $60 for both earrings. He said that it would take him a couple of hours to complete. My earrings were repaired as promised & the charm bracelet was also fixed up as promised, on time. However, the total charge was $85, rather than the $65 quoted. And the jeweler talked on the phone throughout the payment process & continued even after I hung around the store to ask him about it. Eventually I gave up & left, but I don't think I will go back, just because I don't feel like he met my expectations regarding the price. read more

I would highly recommend this place!!! Frank was able to custom make an engagement ring out of my gf grandma's engagement ring. Frank who is the owner was able to extract the diamond, clean it and place it onto a new setting and it turned out BEAUTIFUL!!! when I proposed, my gf was shocked of how amazing it turned out. It's her dream ring! I would recommend calling first before stopping by because he might be out of the office. Excellent customer service, quality and very reasonable prices! read more

Excellent local business. Found them on Yelp, gave a quick call to confirm that they honor the 15% discount when you mention Yelp deal. Not only did they honor it, they actually gave me 20% off on the battery replacement for my Fossil watch! The owner Frank is very friendly with great social skills and incredibly helpful. Will definitely go back when my next watch battery needs replacement, rather than purchasing another watch! read more

Frank and his staff are incredibly talented and professional. My fiance purchased my engagement ring from Frank and I have not stopped receiving compliments on his one of a kind, creative work! He was patient and extremely responsive with my fiance in the process of creating the vision of the ring. When it came to ordering my wedding band, Frank was extremely helpful in creating exactly what I wanted and worked his magic to create the look I wanted with the engagement and wedding band flushed together. He was also very speedy in keeping us up to date on the status of the ring and in completing the projects. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Frank to anyone for their jewelry needs. He is super friendly, accommodating and treats his customers with the utmost respect and friendliness. Thank you, Frank! read more

I was looking for a jeweler near my job and found Frank through Yelp-- I am so grateful that Yelp exists, because how else would I have found such a great guy?! I had not worked with a jeweler before and I wanted to find someone I could trust to not take advantage of my relative ignorance. I had some very old pieces of family jewelry that needed repair and I only had a ballpark idea of what they would cost to fix. Frank took his time looking at them and giving me options. Once I decided what I wanted to do, Frank gave me a very reasonable estimate (at least based on my rudimentary research) and told me he could get them all done within my hoped-for time frame (this was the week before Thanksgiving and I wanted to wear some of these pieces while I was with family the following week)- my lack of planning was no issue for Frank and he met my deadline easily. He even fixed one of the necklaces on the spot so I was able to wear it out! But what sticks out the most for me about my experience with Frank, came when I went to pick up my jewelry. Frank let me know that many of the repairs were easier than first anticipated and charged me WELL BELOW his original (and totally reasonable) quote. He could have EASILY charged me the original quote and I would never have known! Frank's integrity is what has made me a loyal customer. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to support a local business as well as a truly good guy. read more

I was blown away by the beautiful custom engagement ring Frank helped my fiance select. He described my style and showed Frank a few pictures of very differing styles and was able to put together all of the things I liked into a stunning design that I get compliments on every day! I can't express how great Frank was working with on helping me pick out my engagement ring for my girlfriend/now fiancée! Frank has an amazing selection of rings and really helped with the education of the types of rings. I decided to go with a ring that was an original design by Frank. It was a home run with my fiancée, because it was one of kind. Forget those places on jewelry row, Frank offers the best selection and a fantastic price. Thanks Frank! read more

Randomly walked in to the shop today just before close. Frank was very personable and gave my an large discount on my watch. Frank said he is clearing space for second hand higher-end watches (Rolex et al). He has some unique jewlery pieces too. I can see why people are written good reviews. I will be stopping in whenever I'm in the Loop. read more

First time here, fastest watch battery replacement I've ever had. Nice guy, would totally come back.

Had a battery replaced in a watch. Very fast (5 minutes) and affordable. They reset my watch to the correct date and time, and had me out the door in 5 minutes. Very pleasant experience. read more

Frank has been my jeweler for years. His custom jewelry is simply fantastic. He built my wife's engagement ring with a diamond I purchased there, worked with my wife to design a wedding band using her grandmothers diamonds, and provided me with all of my best gifts. However, I would be remiss if I only talked about his big ticket items. Frank has also repaired my watches, replaced batteries, replaced clasps, and refitted/replated an heirloom mens wedding band. There is simply nothing he can't do. The most important thing he does it work with the customer. If you are looking for a quality jeweler and an excellent customer experience, you have to visit Frank. read more

Frank at Frank Michael Jewelers did a wonderful job repairing my watch. He was able to complete the repairs in a matter of minutes. The staff is warm, attentive and inviting. They have a good selection of watches under the counter and the prices are as good, if not better than other places in the Loop. I love businesses that treat their customers right and Frank Michael Jewelers is one of those businesses. I will definitely be back. read more

I work in the building, and initially went to Frank Michael Jewelers for watch repairs out of convenience, but now I go back for the service. I had an issue with a watch after getting the battery replaced, and my issue was resolved quickly and completely hassle-free. Overall the prices are reasonable, and the service is fast and friendly. If you're in the Loop it's worth a walk over to the 175 W Jackson atrium. read more

I had my wedding band repaired here after one of the pave diamonds fell out. Frank and the other salesperson were very accommodating and easy to work with. They repaired it and checked to make sure the rest of the diamonds were secure. There was no nickel and diming and they were a pleasure to work with. The jewelry is beautiful as well, and I would go back when I have a nice gift to pick out! : ) read more

I visited Frank early this summer to begin my search for an engagement ring. Frank was extremely patient with me, and very helpful. I must have visited Frank 3 or 4 times before I was close to making a decision, and at no point did he pressure me into making a purchase. Frank sat down with me and explained the 5 C's and why some diamonds cost more than other or why some are graded higher than others. He then proceeded to show me various different diamonds to show me the difference in each of the 5 C's, which as a visual person this was extremely helpful. By the time I made my decision I felt very comfortable, and I knew I was picking the perfect ring for my fiance and was getting the most for my money in my opinion. When it was time to deliver the ring, the finished product looked better than I had expected. Frank was very responsive, and was even quick to resize the ring after the purchase as it was a little big when I initially popped the question. I would recommend Frank to anyone who may be searching for an engagement ring, and certainly to anyone who is unfamiliar with the process. read more

Always, Always, Always go to Frank Jr!!!!! For whatever you need. From watch batteries to custom pieces, to high end watches, Frank Jr takes care of you each and every time in a very efficient manner. I live in the suburbs and will not go to any other jeweler. Frank Jr's attention to detail, personality and affordable prices make him the best jeweler in Chicago, hands down. I have heard horror stories from friends, relatives and co-workers about shady suburban and city jewelers. Every time i recommend Frank Jr to them and am yet to have a negative thing said about him. I highly, highly recommend his store for any jewelry need you may have. If he doesn't have it in the store he will find it or make it!! read more

Frank was amazing. I wanted a custom piece done, which is a design I've wanted for a while. It was nothing Frank had seen before, but he made it perfect. I brought him two necklaces I already owned because I wanted the piece to be the design of one while in the style of the other. He quoted me between $175 and $200 for the custom made pendant plus the chain for it (both sterling silver). I was happy with this price, and left both of my other necklaces with Frank so that he could custom make my piece. Usually, he makes a mold of a piece, but because mine was silver that would be intertwined (as in, made by hand) there would be no mold. It came out absolutely perfect! It was done within 10 days, and when I went to pick it up he had taken care of my other jewelry, and also made sure that the chain was the right length, offering to exchange it if I needed (I didn't). He also asked if the pendant is what I expected, and offered to make alterations if I wasn't satisfied (I was...very). I was surprised when my bill was exactly $175; he kept his word, and kept it on the low end. I absolutely appreciate his hard work and his loyalty to his word. My necklace is beautiful, and I get compliments on it often. It is a seamless piece, which is very impressive. I absolutely recommend going to Frank Michael Jewelers if you need any custom pieces!! read more

I went to Frank for my wife's wedding ring and wedding band two years ago. I do not like shopping and I was referred to Frank by a friend. I went to Frank and never went anywhere else because I never needed to. Frank did an amazing job! Just recently I went back to Frank to buy another ring for my wife. Frank knocked it out of the park and did another amazing job. Completely custom! I have since moved to Elmhurst,9 but Frank is my jeweler. He also cleaned my wife's wedding ring at no cost! Frank is hands down the best and most professional as they come. Around a year ago I started looking for an engagement ring for my now wife, and was referred to Frank. From the moment he started helping me out I was blown away by his service and knowledge. Frank was able to help my find the perfect ring and matched it with an amazing diamond. Every time I came into Frank's store during the process, he made me feel like family. My wife and I also picked out our wedding bands from Frank, and it once again he brought the family like feel whenever we were there. He would also take the time to shine my wife's engagement ring each time we were there, and gave it a full complimentary polish before our big day. Without question I will be recommending others to go to Frank for any of their ring or jewelry needs because he is truly one of a kind and actually cares about his customers! read more

Frank Michael might be the most useless business owner ever. My fiance got my engagement ring here, and we made an appointment to have it re-sized on a Saturday. When we showed up for said appointment, Frank was no where to be found. There is a front desk in the building where his shop is, so we asked the front desk man to call his personal line. Frank hadn't even left yet to come to the shop. It took him about another hour to actually show up. So that was strike one.. Somehow I was able to overlook this, and decided to get the matching wedding ring from Frank. I first used the email contact form on his website to attempt to make an appointment. No response. I happened to be taking a Friday off of work, so I thought, oh I'll just go in during regular hours. Google told me they opened at 9 AM.. so I headed over there and arrived around 10:26 AM. No one was there, the shop was dark and locked. Thinking maybe google was wrong, I called their number and the recording told me their hours were Mon-Fri 10:30 AM - 6:30 PM. Ok, so I'm 4 minutes early.. I'll come back. I went next door to CVS, shopped a bit, and came back at 10:40 AM. Still closed. no one is even there setting up. I hung around searching for the ring I wanted other places online (Frank's website says the hours are 10AM - 6:30 PM, btw) and left as soon as I found it (around 10:50 AM). Still no sign of anyone when I left. If Frank can't be bothered to actually show up for work, I'll buy my rings from someone who can. read more

15 minutes before I needed to leave for the airport, I noticed my watch wasn't working. Looked up this place on Yelp and high tailed it over. My fiance got my engagement ring from Frank Michael Jewelers and I love it! I wanted something not too common, a contemporary ring in yellow gold. He custom made my ring, and it looks great.
