As a teenager, Cranbrook was my rival, as I went to Country Day for high school! As an adult, Cranbrook is one of my favorite places to walk with my dog all year round. We love coming here to appreciate the House & Gardens, walk around the lake, soak in the architecture & art, and share it all with our family and friends! Every time we come here, we see photoshoots happening (and maybe I have done a few for my dog too in the past) - whether it be senior photos, weddings, family photos, or what - Cranbrook is the perfect backdrop! It's dog-friendly, if you haven't gathered that yet, and the campus is so big that there is so much to do here. Nowadays, we love parking at the art museum and walking over to the House & Gardens and around the lake to the Japanese Garden and just doing that path regularly! It's a fantastic time every time we come here and I hope we can continue doing it for years on end. Thanks for being you, Cranbrook!

They also made accommodations for my seed oil allergy by cooking the chicken without any seed oils. The bartender Alicia went above and beyond by mixing up my own Dijon dressing with olive oil and lemon and no seed oil since I couldn't eat the premade dressing. Amazing service. We will be back!

The dish was generally good though a few bites had an odd almost sour taste that threw me off. I asked whether the orange juice was fresh and I was told it was it's just not squeezed in-house. Supposedly it comes from a place that presses it for them. If they're really paying someone to deliver "fresh" juice they're not getting their money's worth because what I was served tasted exactly like carton OJ. Service was inconsistent some staff were warm while others felt noticeably cold. The restaurant itself is decorated in a very eclectic way with trinkets scattered throughout. I don't think I'll go back and I'm not sure I recommend this place to others.

It is a non-profit organization, always looking for a helping hand. They were closed the other day when I visited. This location is run solely by volunteers, and had no signs with hours of operation. Ah, but during my visit, a couple of the volunteers happened to stop by and gave me information about the organization. I took a brief walk around the well manicured grounds and found that they have a farm museum, carriage house, root cellar, smoke house, summer kitchen, school house and of course, the Wisner Mansion. While I was there, I shot a picture of the historical marker which is prominently displayed close to the roadway. Their next big event is an Ice Cream Social on 26 JUL 2014 and it promises to be a great time. Hours of operation are 11am - 4pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, library included. Group tours are scheduled in advance. I see it's been a little slow here in updating info, so contact Sara at 248-338-6732 or office@ocphs.org with any questions or to RSVP. Web site: www.ocphs.org. I credit much of my growth to incorporating her goddess candle and bath soaks into my new moon routine. She's intuitive and crafty, when I commissioned her to make candles for my birthday party last year she nailed it. Mind you, I only offered her "sparkly and blue/purple" as descriptors! The candles were periwinkle votives with gold sparkles and a feminine, relaxing scent. Above and beyond usual favors! I am excited for her brick and mortar vision manifesting, and went the opening weekend for a crystal reading. She told me what all the crystals meant and even sent me home with some, as well as Palo Santo and a ritual made just for my current needs. Highly recommend!

I've been a longtime fan of The Pentacle Path online store so I was thrilled to find out she has a real shop for tarot readings and more. Well, a sort of pop-up located inside of Supernatural Lingerie, but its her own space and it's comfortable and cool so thats good enough for me. Shiva is so sweet and insightful - she knows her way around a tarot deck, let me tell you. I also appreciate her sincerity and honesty, she has a really refreshing take on all things mystical that even this jaded New Yorker can get behind. I only wish she was on the east coast! So do yourself a favor, fire up those magical crystals and book a session.
