Truly baller building with glorious, beautiful architecture inside and out as well as cool shops like a bookstore, drug store / pharmacy, coffee shop, French patisserie, several clothing stores, a salon and a theater considered to be Detroit's Broadway where you can catch all manner of musicals, plays, concerts, conversations, and other shows. A Detroit landmark as well as treasure and a definite must see if you are in the city!

As we walked in the Fisher Building, there were several areas in the lobby level where there we photo shoots going on. Two separate bridal couple taking photos. Also, model shoots near the Christmas Tree as well as the stair area to the second floor. Marble floors, gold elevators with unique designs, and entrance to the theater showing Wicked. Unique art deco design. Shopping area with items you do not find elsewhere.

The Fisher Building is iconic, historical, and a must see. The fresco ceilings, marble walls, bronze doors, and art deco chandeliers are incredible to see! Everything is stunning, well maintained, and the details are fascinating. Pure Detroit, a fabulous store inside the Fisher Building, offers tours of the building. Our guide, Jacob, led us through the building and told stories from its history. We learned about the family, artists, and architects involved in its creation. The hour long tour also provided us access to the building which is unavailable to the general public. We were allowed to see different levels/floors and take in the wonderful views. You can sign up and claim free tickets through the Pure Detroit website/Eventbrite page.

My friend brought me for a visit and walkthrough of here when I came visiting from out of town. It was my first time in Detroit, and the building is a gorgeous old art deco building from the golden age of Detroit at the height of the automobile industry. I could imagine this being THE place to go in the old days, with all the gold and beautiful interior. It has been called "Detroit's largest art object," and I can see why. If you appreciate architecture, this is definitely a place worth checking out.

At Christmas, this is a MUST for holiday photos! (And you can still do that during COVID!) And for holiday shopping at The Peacock Room, where I have ALWAYS found something irresistible The Fisher is a Detroit icon

My brother and I were visiting Detroit for a weekend, and we're both sort of architecture nerds. When I learned about Pure Detroit's FREE architecture tours, I wanted to do them all. We were able to squeeze in the tours of the Fisher Building and Guardian Building. The Pure Detroit tour of the Fisher building was great and SO WORTH IT. Our tour guide was excellent - very knowledgeable and funny. And the building was fascinating. Designed by Detroit's most famous architect Albert Kahn, it's a very ornate, 30-story building in the Art Deco style. The building has FORTY kinds of marble, 21 elevators, and stunning frescos. If you don't have time for the tour (although I highly recommend it), you can just walk in and explore it yourself. The building still has many shops, so it's open to the public to explore on the main levels!

Standing front and center downtown, this massive green figure holds a sphere in one hand and a family in the other, representing God and the people--basically everything Detroit stands for at its core: strength, unity, and community. It's one of the most photographed spots in the city, but it's way more than just a photo op. This is the heart of the 313. What makes it even more special is how connected it is to the people. Whenever Detroit sports teams make a run, you'll see the statue repping jerseys. Big moments, big celebrations, big comebacks--the Spirit of Detroit is always part of it. It's not just watching the city grow, it's growing with it. There's also so much history behind it. Installed in 1958, this piece has stood through every chapter of Detroit's story--the highs, the struggles, and the comeback.
