Dr. Kuhns looked at the X-rays from August and compared them to the ones in November and realized that there was something terribly wrong with the changes in the images. Almost immediately he scheduled major back surgery, going in from both the front and back in a six hour surgery. A bacterial infection was the cause of the rapid deterioration of two discs in my spine. I had several different doctors try to treat me with steroid shots, radiofrequency ablation, and a spinal stimulator. The pain just kept getting worse until I finally was referred to Dr. Kuhns for evaluation. The rest is history, as I can finally walk without major pain, and getting better by the day. I was impressed Dr DeMaio got all the information pertaining to my issues to assess the problem. He explained my diagnosis thoroughly and treatment. He gave me notes to refer to for later.
