When we contacted Edward at Canadian Blueprint he quoted a much more realistic price for the work. He promptly came out with his assistant to get started on the drawings. They were quick and efficient at getting the work done for us. Later, we decided to extend our renovation project to include the kitchen. Edward was very accommodating to get more drawings done for us so that we could get our kitchen permit secured. He was very friendly and personable, which made the process very easy for us. He even stayed and had a cup of coffee at the end. We were very impressed by the service we received and would highly recommend him and Canadian Blueprint to anyone in need of their services. I guess not many Yelpers use the services of a draftsperson or an architect). We called him Tuesday afternoon. He came Wednesday morning. True to what he says on his website, he gathered all the information he need then, and didn't have to come back to check things. He had the drawing ready for us on Monday morning. Great!!! He charges by the hour, not by project, but the figure quoted us was pretty accurate (the actual bill was about $80 less). I'm not qualified to judge the actual drawing, but City Hall said they were good! He takes cash. He said that with the small projects (like ours) that he takes on, it's not worth the chance of getting a bad cheque that he would have to chase down. Makes sense. He gives receipts for the cash, so I was fine with that. He draws by hand, not on the computer. But he keeps the original pencil drawings and gives you the printed copies (City Hall won't accept pencil, anyways), so he can make adjustments if you need him to. He mentions on his website that he is a BBB member. I did find him there, but I think it would be more helpful if he linked to his BBB page :). The category is currently "Architects", since Yelp didn't have one for "Drafting", and I figured this is closer to what he does than "Graphic Design". His website mentions that he designs renovations, but I don't know if he designs from scratch.

Frank quickly put on paper what both my husband and I were envisioning for our house. He is extremely creative and a great listener.
