I guess not many Yelpers use the services of a draftsperson or an architect). We called him Tuesday afternoon. He came Wednesday morning. True to what he says on his website, he gathered all the information he need then, and didn't have to come back to check things. He had the drawing ready for us on Monday morning. Great!!! He charges by the hour, not by project, but the figure quoted us was pretty accurate (the actual bill was about $80 less). I'm not qualified to judge the actual drawing, but City Hall said they were good! He takes cash. He said that with the small projects (like ours) that he takes on, it's not worth the chance of getting a bad cheque that he would have to chase down. Makes sense. He gives receipts for the cash, so I was fine with that. He draws by hand, not on the computer. But he keeps the original pencil drawings and gives you the printed copies (City Hall won't accept pencil, anyways), so he can make adjustments if you need him to. He mentions on his website that he is a BBB member. I did find him there, but I think it would be more helpful if he linked to his BBB page :). The category is currently "Architects", since Yelp didn't have one for "Drafting", and I figured this is closer to what he does than "Graphic Design". His website mentions that he designs renovations, but I don't know if he designs from scratch.

Our builder requested that we sit down with a drafts person to draw up some plans so that we were all on the same page. Frank quickly put on paper what both my husband and I were envisioning for our house. He is extremely creative and a great listener. Hi Dana,   Just a…read morequick note to express my sincere and heartfelt thanks for all of your extraordinary (ordinary in the "SaraCares book") work on my carpet and sofa.   The carpet, which you cleaned countless times (who does that?) to bring it from very soiled to pristine, looks spectacular and changes the mood of the entire room.   Your tech, Aaron, who expertly cleaned the sofa and delivered and laid the carpet (along with several other tasks), could not have been more accommodating and amiable; he was the icing on the cake. He did a truly outstanding job on both, above and beyond expectations.   On top of an impressive and exemplary job, you even offered me a sizable discount (who does that?). Unbelievable.   Your accomplished customer service, hyper-attention to detail, seamless and stress-free execution, unwavering integrity and pedigree, and a passionate and consistent desire to execute and deliver the absolute highest quality possible is incredibly rare and so appreciated. There is no other service I will ever use or enthusiastically recommend.   I suppose this "quick note" was a challenge. Turns out, it's quite impossible to express my thanks for your work in a short, dashed off missive.   Bravo, Dana!   Phil

When we contacted Edward at Canadian Blueprint he quoted a much more realistic price for the work. He promptly came out with his assistant to get started on the drawings. They were quick and efficient at getting the work done for us. Later, we decided to extend our renovation project to include the kitchen. Edward was very accommodating to get more drawings done for us so that we could get our kitchen permit secured. He was very friendly and personable, which made the process very easy for us. He even stayed and had a cup of coffee at the end. We were very impressed by the service we received and would highly recommend him and Canadian Blueprint to anyone in need of their services. Thanks Edward!

This was a large 4322 SqFt / 6 Bedroom / 6 Bathroom View Home in the Arbutus Vancouver neighbourhood on the West Side. A very dramatic design that featured the amazing Northern View of the West Side of Vancouver, Downtown Vancouver, Burrard Inlet & the North Shore Mountains was created for this lot. This Modern House was designed as a reverse plan to maximize the view exposure from the top floor living / dining / kitchen & entertaining level. This address offered a very open concept design with no wasted space throughout. As an industry professional I would always suggest to source an Architecture Firm who is going to create you not only a design that suits your needs & desires, but once who will create a design that is SELLABLE. Stuard Howard Architects did just that on this home and made my job a lot easier! Thanks!!
