Our experience with Eagles Tree Service almost didn't happen…read more We needed to remove a really large dying oak tree at the top of the hill in our backyard, and knew it would be a big and potentially complicated job. We initially scheduled with another company to do the work. I never like to badmouth anyone by name, but what happened with them is part of this review, and so needs to be said. Suffice it to say it's a big company. A really big company. A Monstrously big company. Let's call them 'Scary Creature' Tree Service. They sent out an estimator who said the job could be done, though noted some of the large dying limbs may pose a challenge. He gave us a quote, and we agreed to it. They finally scheduled us a month out. The day of the service they showed with a decent-sized crew and lots of equipment. Sounds pretty good so far, right? We thought so, too. The crew came into the yard, walked up the hill, looked at the tree, looked at their gear, looked at their bucket truck, looked at the tree, looked at each other, looked at everything again, looked at us, and said it couldn't be done with their equipment. The hill was too steep for the bucket truck, and the tree couldn't be climbed for several reasons. And then they simply left. They told us someone would get right back to us about a reschedule and a new quote if necessary. No one contacted us that day. Or the next. Or the next. Or the next week. Or the next. They finally got back to us and said that the tree couldn't be climbed, so they would need to use an aerial crane, and it would cost roughly 40% more than the initial quote. At this point we were thoroughly annoyed, and contacted a couple other companies, one of which was Eagles. We liked that they are a local family company and the father showed up, looked at the tree, said they could do it, and their quote was substantially lower than the other company's initial quote. The day of the service they showed up on time. They had the same-sized crew and less equipment. And they weren't remotely frightened by the tree. All of the complications noted by the other company, requiring more and more equipment and money, they didn't even blink at. They noted the same issues, but figured out how to deal with them, and then dealt with them. They were all exceptionally friendly and exuded confidence and competence. The son would say things like, "This limb is going to be a fun challenge. It wants to fall over there, in your neighbors' yard. So we're going to tie it off in this way, and it's going to fall here." And as he called it, so it happened. The whole day and the whole experience was perfect from start to finish. They cut up some of the tree for firewood, and even stacked it for us. They went back and cleaned up the yard and filled in the really big divots gouged by the tree and various limbs as they fell. There were just so many little moments and details that they got right. So if you're reading this book-length review and wondering whether we liked them, and whether we strongly recommend them, and whether you should consider working with them, the answer is absolutely yes.

I contacted them to…read moreconstruct an interior PA blue stone pad for my new wood stove and also to install stone veneer on two of the walls. Andrew and Steve are not just stone masons and have excellent skills in both interior and exterior construction that comes in handy when the unforeseen glitch pops up. For example they were able to reinforce the floor to support the very heavy weight of the pad and stove. While working in the basement on the floor reinforcement, Andrew noticed that there was a bump in the basement concrete floor that I lamented had been tripping me every time I did the laundry. Without hesitation, he went to his truck for some tools and remedied that rather large bump at no additional charge. Steve is an artisan, and created a real show piece backdrop to the Vermont castings red stove. The pattern and color variation he put forth is truly amazing and far exceeded my expectations. There was one stone that I felt was a little off in color, and they had no pushback, and were completely open to replacing it albeit while the stone had not fully set, but it was obvious their goal was 100% customer satisfaction. The cuts for outlets, windows, and ceilings were flawless and the mortar joints between stones was applied perfectly. I learned that Andrew is a 2nd generation mason, and he and Steve had been training under his dad since they were kids. I had to travel out of town, and had no worries leaving them the keys to finish the job. They are great communicators and completely trust-worthy. When icy cold rain was forecast Andrew called the night before to alert me of the threatening weather and left it that he would revisit the workday in the morning. He called bright and early to "ASK" if we could postpone a day as he would be cutting the stone and mixing mortar outside. I of course agreed. They also coordinated with the stove installers to help wrangle the very heavy stove pad onto the frame they had built. Andrew and Steve are team players and also a great team, with complimentary skills and eyes that truly ensures a beautiful job. They cleaned up every day and left the job, spotless with no debris. They have my highest recommendation and can handle any masonry job at hand. 6 Stars out of 5!!!!!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Goodman Plumbing. After having a great first…read moreexperience with them, I hired them again because I trusted them. Unfortunately, this second experience was the complete opposite. The original agreement was for Goodman Plumbing to dig down to the curb stop, shut the water off to my home, install a new water box, replace the pipes inside my home, and install a new shut-off valve. After realizing they could not dig into the street to perform additional work that would have cost me thousands more, they changed course and went against the terms of the original contract. Instead of honoring the agreement. Communication was terrible. I waited over a month with little to no updates while my pipes continued leaking. I had to repeatedly contact Goodman Plumbing just to find out what was going on. When they finally came out, they dug a hole and then refused to continue the job, claiming the pipe contained lead. Throughout the visit, the technician was on the phone with someone from the company. However, a Philadelphia Water Department inspector confirmed that my service line was not leaking, and records from the PWD Lead Service Line Map showed my address as non-lead. Despite this, Goodman Plumbing refused to accept the inspector's findings or move forward with the original work. To make matters worse, they broke the tip of my curb key and never told me. Inspector informed me the water can no longer be shut off due to tip was broken off. Goodman plumbing company refused to repair it, refused to restore the area with cement as required by the contract, and left an open hole in the public right-of-way with only caution tape around it. This created an unsafe hazard outside my home. They also never completed the plumbing work inside my house that they were hired to perform, yet still expected to be paid. When I asked them to take responsibility for the damage they caused, I was told it was my responsibility because my home is older. They refused to provide their damage liability insurance information and repeatedly shifted the blame instead of taking accountability. I was also pressured to make a decision within one day and received repeated phone calls the next day pushing me to spend thousands more. Rather than work toward a solution, I felt pressured and dismissed. I was told repeatedly by workers, and Manager Nick they will not fix or place cement over hole as it is now my responsibility, yet this was a part of the contract. The most disappointing part was being told by Manager Nick to never contact Goodman Plumbing again for any future services. As a customer who trusted this company enough to hire them a second time, I found that response completely unprofessional. I regret giving Goodman Plumbing my business again. Instead of standing behind their work, they failed to honor the contract, damaged my property, refused to repair the damage they caused, left my property in an unsafe condition, and walked away from the job without completing the work they were hired to do. If you're considering Goodman Plumbing, I strongly encourage you to carefully review reconsider or if any digging is needed to follow-up with PWD have them inspect first. My experience was stressful, frustrating, and one I would never want another homeowner to go through. Now my home is left with unsafe, hazardous unpaved hole left with dirt they placed over with caution tape and sticks holding caution tape.

I was terrified by the thought that sewage would come pouring into the house. I know someone who had that happen and it was a nightmare. Mr. Sweeney had the most up to date equipment available. He ran a camera down through the toilet to see what was happening - and it was bad. The roots of a massive cherry tree had gone into the pipe and clogged it. When the backhoe started digging, they found a full septic tank the house was built in the 1950s. Unbelievable. It was just left there when the house was connected to the township sewer system. The full septic tank sat there for decades apparently. We had no idea when we bought this house 3 years ago - maybe the previous owner didn't know - or maybe they knew and did not disclose it. The sewer pipe zig zagged across the yard to avoid the septic tank! It's surprising this crazy mess lasted as long as it did. The tank was pumped out and broken into pieces. Mr. Sweeney did not increase the cost !! So now we have a proper sewer pipe to the township system - and the full septic tank is gone. I am so grateful to Mr. Sweeney, his son and his crew for helping us. And he is an incredibly nice guy! He briefed us every step of the way. Sweeney's Mechanical is absolutely the best !!

What a great experience, they saved the day ! Bucks Mont Environment said they would come and do the clean-out, I kept on waiting and calling and they never appeared. So I threw a Hail Mary and called Franc, they said they would be over in less than two hours. We received "emergency" service on a Saturday, they showed up in less than two hours, went to work, addressed the job on hand, and did the little extra things that made the job perfect, Felipe, was so kind, gracious and determined to make sure everything was perfect before he left. Our ejector pump died and these guys were wonderful! I thought we would have to invest in a new pump, but they convinced me to have it looked at. Turned out they were right! The pump was fine and the problem was an electrical panel. They were wonderful at communicating through the process and really cared about our family's welfare. We had a terrible experience, from start to finish. Before the second visit, I asked Sean what the estimate would be, since he was rushed to get the work done on a Saturday. I specifically said that there was no rush for the project, and he insisted they come out right away because he had double booked his projects. He said the estimate would be 'give or take $500.' Let me just say that the wall was left completely open from the washing machine. That's fine, since they were upfront about the need to have a contractor come repair the wall, but this was not included in the price. I received a bill for $550. I paid the bill, and the next day I received an additional bill for $280. I called and left a voicemail to speak with someone regarding this, and received no call back. I called a week later, and received a call direct from Sean. He was insistent that this was my fault since I did not request a formal documented estimate. Okay... I said maybe it is, since I trusted the verbal estimate he had given us. This plumber came recommended from the previous owner, so I just assumed they were trustworthy. I said to him, I understand we are on the hook. However it's a really horrible situation since we had been upfront about just moving, have a newborn, and were very tight on money. If we had known it would be almost $800 for 2 hours of work not including repair, I would have said no. Not right now. None of it was urgent, he insisted he come out within 3 days on a Saturday to do the work. He reinforced how I should have asked for a documented estimate and began to yell about how "I don't know what to tell you. I have kids. I have my own bills. I have my own bills to pay that would buy your house." Needless to say, said thank you anyway and hung up the phone. I would absolutely never recommend this company. They should be ashamed how they operate, and speak to people.

Ray has helped me with a couple of different plumbing issues…read more One was an emergency..during that super cold winter when the temp went down to zero..I had issues with pipes that I didn't even know EXISTED behind the wall of my mudroom freezing. Water was entering my basement walls..it was a mess. He came as soon as he could. Cut into the wall and fixed the pipe. Explained that there was a pipe behind the wall for a washer/dryer--the previous owner never documented this or explained it to me (it's a very strange, rear-of-the-house mudroom that was an add-on.) For the second visit, I had a sewage back up. He came and diagnosed it, and fixed it by cleaning up the sewer line under the street. Apparently, my home piping is pretty sturdy and modern, but the pipes under the street are old and thin. So I have to be careful what gets flushed down my toilet. Yet another thing the prior owner didn't inform me of, and I had to learn at a cost to paying Ray from Streamline to fix. At least he was reasonable! I will definitely hire him again. In fact, I'm planning to contact him this weekend about a new water heater.
