From Jean K. Jim is good old fashion service - He's there when you need him. HIs company is…read morevery personalized where you don't get lost in the larger structured businesses. Our powder room toilet flooded our home causing extensive damage upstairs and to the basement. We had a sewer pipe that needed to be fixed - He knew exactly what the problem was because he was familiar with the original installation as my development was being built - he takes interest in the community especially has a keen interest in the plumbing aspects of his community. He didn't need to charge me an exorbitant amount of money just to assess the problem as two other companies wanted to. He dug a small 6' hole, fixed the problem and reseeded the patch for grass growth. Later I called him to check on my powder room toilet - it wasn't flushing right. He replaced a tube on to the flushing system (took all of 1 second). He noticed that the exposed air conditioning wall stack (exposed until our home is repaired from the flood) had holes in it. He went out to his truck and he patched up the holes with aluminum tape. Above & beyond. It's nice to deal with an upstanding person who takes pride in his profession. He called it a courtesy call.

Excellent Service! We knew our furnace and AC were on their last legs, so obtained quotes from…read morethree local companies to replace them. The quotes were several thousand dollars apart. IT Landes were not only the cheapest, but we also felt the most comfortable with their sales person ("project estimator"), Frank. He was not at all pushy, the pricing was straightforward and well explained. Fast forward 1.5 years, one AC repair and the furnace suddenly died in the middle of winter. Frank was back out the day we called. No surcharge for emergency service, no deposit required, and the new quote was actually a few bucks less than previously. Installation was scheduled for 2 days time, so Frank brought us two portable space heaters to keep us warm in the meantime! The installation team did a great job, (mostly) kept the rest of the house clean, and the finished job looks very tidy and professional. Best of all the new HVAC is quiet, efficient and the house is very comfortable. One note: I wouldn't recommend going with the Carrier-branded thermostat that Landes recommended. It doesn't get good reviews online and there are plenty of other better ones out there. We chose the Ecobee 3, but there is also the Nest and others from Honeywell.

A technician came to…read morecheck our dishwasher, was at the house for only a couple of minutes, and we were still charged the full diagnostic fee. I completely understand there are costs associated with travel and expertise, but I expected our membership to provide more value or some reduction in situations like this. As it stands, it's hard to see the benefit of being part of the program.

Donnelly's Plumbing Heating and Cooling - Nick in one of our trucks, Donnelly's Plumbing Heating and Cooling

Donnelly's is one of the top rated plumbing and HVAC specialists in the area. It's a shame to see…read morethe volume of poor reviews for this outstanding company. Most of them are just upset to have to be dealing with household management. I understand, but it's not fair. They replaced our water inlet valves for our washing machine - 10/10 service. It was pricey, but you get what you pay for. They didn't charge us for new hoses. The new valves are fantastic. Huge improvement. We also had them upgrade our entire HVAC. They gave us a VERY competitive price. Knocked an entire grand off for booking the same week. Minor issue after install and they called in someone who had technically just ended their shift. Above and beyond. We joined their protection plan for priority scheduling plus a free AC and furnace inspection annually. Holding off on the free plumbing inspection to do our own due diligence first. You only see Donnelly's trucks around my area for a reason. Outstanding quality. My advice would be to seek more estimates for smaller jobs, but do not hesitate for big/important projects. Clean, respectful, down to earth. Highly recommend!

I called Donnelly's to get their assistance with diagnosing an issue with our in-wall Roman-style…read moretub faucet that was experiencing poor hot water flow. After identifying the faucet model number, cartridge size and installation details, I expected the technician to be capable of helping me get over the final hurdle and check everything out. Because it wasn't a "name brand" OEM (it's a Home Depot in-store brand - FLG) that uses a generic cartridge rather than a manufacturer specific one, plus the fact that the faceplate appeared to be secured with silicone caulk (it wasn't - just two rubber O-rings for the opening for the diverter valve and the main cartridge body), he said that his manager could only authorize a COMPLETE VALVE BODY REPLACEMENT - which would have involved removing the tub, tearing out tile and drywall, and several hours worth of work. He wouldn't even touch it other than removing the covers to expose the lock screws that held the handle in place. He said he'd need an Allen key and would have to pull the cover completely off to get to the shutoff valves in the valve body. What self-respecting plumber DOESN'T CARRY ALLEN KEYS to install small handles and hardware? I was so angry that I shut off the water main and the hot water to the house and started disassembling the handle and removing the cartridge before he was even gone. Fifteen minutes later I'd diagnosed that the cartridge was fine, so I went ahead and pulled off the faceplate, found the local shutoff valves, cycled them closed and open again, and then tested the cartridge to find that the water was flowing perfectly! I wasted a $49 diagnostic fee on mediocre service. Plus, the guy smelled strongly of cigarettes, which was very unpleasant. The only thing he did right was put on foot covers when he walked into our home. I want my money back! TLDR: I do not recommend this company. They fleeced us for a diagnostic fee and I fixed the issue myself in 20 minutes.
