Brought in a print for framing as (I thought) I'd gotten a really good deal with the store's Groupon. The associate was polite when going over framing options, but things got weird when it came to a quote. I was surprised by the initial price (~$350), but he offered me a military discount which made it slightly more affordable. When I mentioned that I had a Groupon, he told me I couldn't have the discount (that he offered me!) since I was using the voucher. He claimed he "couldn't do two good things for me." The new quote was over $500! Um, ok? A voucher isn't a coupon/discount and there was nothing in the fine print saying that you couldn't use the Groupon and a discount. He then told me that the Groupon was usually used for smaller jobs. Again, nothing to that effect in the Groupon language. The whole interaction was polite but strange- It's like they didn't want my business or to honor the voucher. If you don't want to take Groupons, don't offer them? As another user said, seems like a ploy to get you in the door. Went to Hobby Lobby instead and paid $130 for the exact same frame and glass options. read more

Overall, Ozzie's work is unmatched. I had 2 items framed and matted here with a Groupon. Unfortunately, I don't think I got my value out of it. There was no pricing detail and the Groupon was seemingly dismissed as "... That's for smaller items.". I was given a price and paid. And it was a lot. Nearly $500 for two items. With $400 in Groupons. So nearly $1,000 in framing for 2 items? So my $200 in framing for one item cost me $200. Plus my $44 for the Groupon. For a 16x20 print. The $156 value was seemingly lost. The Groupons were redeemed after the purchase and before the pickup. So was the work done worth $244? Yeah, I think so. Maybe. Kinda. Well, not sure. Because if I paid $200 and I had $200 in a Groupon, I really got $400 in framing. Was it worth that? Definitely not. A similar item on sale in store, including the artwork, was $199. I provided my own artwork. So I figure the $44 I spent on the Groupon was just a complete waste. And the carnival antics on pricing confirmed it. But... The work IS really good. Just plan to empty the wallet. And if you have a Groupon, accept that it's just a ploy to get you in the door. Basically a $44 cover charge. It wasn't worth trying to challenge it after the fact because I knew it would be expensive (prior experience) and honestly the work is good. I just feel like the pricing was super confusing and lacking transparency. read more
