Where's the I am so terribly sorry how can I make this right. My original review was removed, and while I can't say for certain why, I can only assume Layne did not want this experience visible to other brides. My experience with her was awful. In my opinion, Layne made repeated promises that turned out not to be true. I was told my dress would look a certain way, fit properly, and be ready before my wedding. Instead, it was not even ready until the DAY OF MY WEDDING, and after all of that, it still did not fit correctly. It was so big that it kept falling off of me throughout my wedding night. I felt like I was constantly being reassured and promised things that never actually happened. That is why I personally feel she lies and makes false promises. I trusted her with one of the most important parts of my wedding day, and I ended up stressed, crying, and worrying about my dress right up until the wedding. What made it worse was that when I gave her the opportunity to make things right afterward, I was instead asked for more money. A bride should never have to deal with this on her wedding day. Based on my experience, I would never recommend Layne or this business.

But... you have to just hope you get paired with a good stylist for the appointment. Unfortunately you (as the bride) are only able to look quickly at the dress inventory for about 5 minutes when you first arrive to pick a few to start with, but your guests are never allowed to help at any time during the visit. Throughout the short appointment all dress selections are made by your stylist. Which I unfortunately did not get matched with someone who was understanding what I was looking for. Maybe she was new, I'm not sure? I have read other reviews saying they aren't a size inclusive salon, which I don't think I could agree with. I'm hoping that is maybe just a story of the past. I was super impressed to see how many "extended sizing" sample dresses they had. As a normal dress size 14, I'm considered a "plus size bride" which can be very stressful for some. Thankfully almost every dress I tried on were in those extended sizes, which helped me to feel much more comfortable through the process. So thank you NY Bride & Co for that!! The salon is clean & the workers do seem happy to be there. I just have now heard from multiple friends that they all had similar experiences as mine - upset that their guests weren't able to be involved in dress selections (they're the people that know us best) & frustrated that the stylists don't listen to the brides wants and sort of just make dress selections based on what they think will look best on the bride to be.

We had to recently get a memorial plaque made for a service and at first had all of it done on a wood base with a gold plate. It looked fantastic! I was really worried that he wouldn't take our piece or that it would be to hard to do on marble. He had no issue at all and charged the same price as the other day. What impressed me even more so, was that he was able to use his tool to etch in a Chinese name in addition to all of the other stuff we had written. Here is the kicker...the price was out of this world. There was no "per word" nonsense here. The guy charged us the same for both pieces and one had Chinese writing on it.
