Yes, they can be cranky if you expect them to magically know things you can't describe or come in with an attitude. Ask nicely and you'll be treated the same way you treat them. Plus, they really do have the finest sod sold anywhere.

However, with the second project I purchased 1000 sq ft of pavers, crushed limestone and sand totaling around $5500.00. The problem, when I returned the left over pavers, I was told if I was not returning a full band of pavers I would not be refunded for this amount. This was not what I was told by sales at the time of purchase. Bebergs originally said returning what was left over from the job would not be a problem. I will not be a return customer there to do the retaining wall project at the front of my house.

They are also very picky about what you can use store credit for on the few items that are covered under their guarantees. I have a really hard time finding what I need due to the compact layout and lack of much signage. Employees are usually friendly and helpful but it can be hard to find one who is available. Even though it's a much longer drive, I usually go to Bachmann's instead to spend less and enjoy an easier experience plus worry-free guarantees.
