This DOCK86 is connected to HOM Furniture which is nice you can shop both stores without having to go outside. I feel like most of the customers were in the complimentary cookie & coffee area, lol. It's nice that they offer snacks (in which you do have to consume in that area and not on the sales floor). My sister is in the market for a new couch and my mom was trying out mattresses. Store wasn't too busy for a Saturday. There were a group of salespeople across the store. One eventually came over to greet us. My mom ended up picking up a few smaller items from the home decor area. They had a lot to offer in every area. Worth checking out if you are in the market for furniture. read more

Very disappointed in my order. I bought a diningroom set and told all was avaiable but 1 chair. When i got my order i only received 3 chairs not 5. Now have to wait for a month to get the other 3. Also when i flipped over the chairs i saw how terrible they were put together. Im hoping this set will last me many years being oak but not sure I will go else where for furniure next time. When i called about my order they said it showed that only 3 chairs were available not what the sale lady said. I would have looked around more. read more

We had a good experience inside the store when we purchased a love seat. The salesman was very friendly and we were happy with the quality of the furniture. However, the problem came with the delivery. The salesman had recommended the "garage drop" delivery because there was no extra charge. They basically unload it off of the back of the truck and the customer takes it from there. We specifically asked the salesman if a garage drop meant that they had to drop it in the back alley by the garage or if it could be delivered in front. The salesman confirmed that the front would be just fine. Unfortunately, when the driver arrived & called, he said a garage drop is exactly how it sounds: dropping it off at the garage. He would not leave it in front. He dropped it off in the alley by our garage. Because of the set up in our alley / backyard, there was no way possible we could move this very heavy loveseat ourselves up a narrow stairway and through 2 narrow gates. The 2 of us managed to drag the heavy box into the garage, so at least its secure. And thats where it sits now. We immediately called Dock 86 back and asked to pay the $100 fee to have them deliver inside our living room. We informed them that the new couch is in the garage and mice could be damaging it, so we needed to set up a delivery ASAP. They told us it would be at least a week out before they could come back. We are very disappointed in Dock 86 and probably won't return for future business. If you buy from them, we would definitely recommend paying the extra money up front for room delivery because the drivers will not go out of their way to help you with the garage drop off. read more

Not impressed with the staff. Impossible to get people to help. We were walking around looking for couches. The sales people seemed more interested in their conversations with each other. Really? Sitting around watching people who have questions and just chit chatting. That was turn off one. Turn off two. Prices are not that great. UNBELIEVABLY POOR customer service by management!!!! We went for the Labor Day Sale. Front doors were open. Went into the store. Shopped for 10 minutes and then were told by a very rude man who claimed to the manager..."Hey, you cant be in here. We are not open yet." We told him the doors were open. He said he did not care. They didn't open until 10. I said well, that is in 6 minutes...what does 6 minutes matter? He says it is an insurance liability. NO. Do you know how many stores let people in early if they are standing outside waiting? Plenty. I also OWN a store and we let people in all the time. Is he really wanting me to believe that it affects their insurance if people are inside during non-business hours? What if at the end of the day they are still waiting on customers after closing? Does your insurance get cancelled or what pal? This was UNBELIEVABLY RIDICULOUS. He actually made us leave the store and go outside. By the time we got back to the front of the store it was only 4 minutes until opening. INSANE. What is worse is that we were not the only customers in the store. Another lady was inside with her handicapped mother who had a cane and walked very slowly and they were already at the back of the store. He made them walk all the way up front and exit the store as well. The woman kept saying, can't my mother just sit down in this chair until you open? She can't walk all the way back up front and then all the way back here again! He INSISTED THEY LEAVE for those 5 minutes. Sorry, but what a worthless jerk. Not sure why but every time we need a piece of furniture we drag ourselves over to this store and give it a look. We have never found what we are looking for or left thinking I wish we could buy that! I think the one thing we like is that it is big and open and you don't get hounded by a salesperson up your ass the entire time like some of the others. We have an oddly shaped living room. It is long and narrow with two entrances, an angle-facing fireplace and a large bay window all of which are features that have presented some challenges when it comes to furniture arrangement. Additionally, there is only one wall where the couch might conceivably go and the other areas that are suitable for additional seating are awkwardly positioned in relationship to the sofa. We bought a couch and chair/ottoman set last year and have been struggling with the lack of adequate seating ever since. There has only been seating enough for three people to comfortably sit in our living room so if we have people over we haul the dining room chairs into the living room. So we knew we needed additional seating but weren't sure what would work best (One chair? Two chairs? A loveseat?). We've been shopping around ever since but never found anything that was quite right and that didn't break the bank. Until we went to, Dock 86! We found a set of matching chairs and as soon as we saw them we just knew they were exactly what we were looking for. They complement our existing pieces and now there is additional, comfortable seating for two more people. Once we got them home, we hopped online and looked up the manufacturer and style of the chair and discovered that the retail price of ONE chair was $800. We got TWO chairs for 20% less than the retail price of one. That smacks of a good deal to me!!! Alright, so I have this mattress... and it's getting to be that there is a small crater that I end up rolling into when I am sleeping. You know, one of those "no-flip" mattresses that they marketed that were UBER cheap... So I've been all over the cities looking for a new mattress and I was growing SUPER tired of places saying that I couldn't just buy a mattress it 'comes with the frame and box spring as a set.' I found a generic tempurpedic mattress, for literally $1000 under what a normal one would cost, with a slightly shorter warranty, and it's even more comfortable than some of the ones that I sat on! Needless to say, I was highly impressed with how Marques made the sale. He wasn't pushy, he listened, and he was even cost conscious as I told him that I'm not willing to spend a mound of cash on something I have to replace more often than a car. All in all, my purchase left me smiling, and I got some really great ideas for my new apartment! I WILL be returning here!!! I never feel compelled to leave reviews, however I recently moved and needed new furniture along with it. Shopping at Dock 86 was a breeze. I'm unsure if the associates make commission, but even if they did I didn't feel any pressure to buy nor were they trying to up sell me in anyway. Originally I purchased a smaller sofa and when I realized my space was larger than I thought, they easily and happily exchanged it for me. Even allowing me to keep the same scheduled delivery time! Delivery was a breeze. They called and stated they would arrive between 11-2pm and they promptly called at 10:51am stating they will be at my door in ten minutes. I met them at the door and they said for me to kick back. The real reason I felt like I should comment on their service is that the two men who assembled my sofa took their shoes off at the door! I applaud you men. Even if people enter my home with their shoes on, it doesn't bother me. However that extra step to do so is just fantastic! read more

I was really disappointed the one time I visited Dock 86 - so much so I will probably not go back unless I am looking for something very specifically and cannot find it elsewhere. They advertise so much and make it sound like "the" place to shop, but really I found the quality to not be great and the prices to not be very cheap compared to how they advertise. They do have a lot of items - it could be a fun place to look around to get ideas for things, but then go find cheaper somewhere else. :) And the employees are all friendly and helpful. So they are doing well on that front. Check it out, but don't be surprised if you're not impressed. read more

My husband and I need a new couch and have done the tour of furniture stores in the metro. We found something that we liked at Ashley Furniture but had driven past Dock 86 on our way home from something one night and wanted to give it a look. Cool concept! It is sort of "outlet" meets "scratch/dent" meets "Overstock.com" for furniture and home accessories. Everything in there was leftovers, the last one, something scratched, etc. and very few were what I would consider ugly. Everything was very on trend and most everything was very comfy. They are ONLY open Friday through Sunday so don't go in the middle of the week thinking you'll avoid a crowd. We had set our top line budget at $800 which gets you a regular old uphoulstered couch with minimal frills but that is OK. We ended up taking home a beautiful nail head trimmed, beautiful wood base uphoulstered piece with ottoman to match for under $500 with tax. Amazing! Ringing us up took a bit because they're only 3 weeks old and have some kinks to work out yet but it was totally worth it. They took another $20 off the price because the item we wanted was the last remaining one and it had a few big dings in the ottoman that they're going to color in so that you can't see (not fixable- but we'll just turn it around so that side faces the couch and all will be fine). They do deliver and set up for $100 but we're just going to rent the menards truck for an hour and do it ourselves. I will be back when the need arises and you should go too! read more

Purchased kitchen table and chairs called and set up delivery. Told them I had to leave for work by 4 o'clock the day of delivery, associate acknowledged that. said a delivery person would call me in the morning and let me know the approximate delivery time. They never called and never came, wasted an entire day at home expecting a call and delivery. I called them just before I had to go to work, they said I was scheduled to receive delivery between three and six o'clock. I questioned why they would schedule it the time I told them I would be at work. All I got was a partial apology. Found a love seat that fit perfectly into our small living room and we loved the look of it however, it has not held up very well. My husband and I are both older adults with no children at home so it gets minimal use. Cushions became misshapen rather quickly. We paid $900 and expected it to hold up much better than it has. We've been here a couple of times browsing and just made our first purchase. We picked up a close out floor model TV stand that was cheaper than comparable items online. A few of the other things were more expensive. The sales people weren't pushy (a nice change from most furniture stores), the selection large, and the prices are reasonable. Which doesn't make any sense considering they rely on commission for pay. I ordered a 7x10 loft size rug and they told me that it would be in the store within 2 weeks. After three weeks I called and asked them what's going on and they didn't know what I was talking about. Eventually a manager came on the phone and told me that the rug will be in a month later and that she would personally follow up with me to make sure I am updated on the status of the rug. She has never called, not even an email. Clearly they just wanted the sale by telling me the lie that if they don't have the product they can order it. That was a complete lie. Do not shop here! Never again! (Sales gal was super great!!!) We bought some patio furniture from the "tent". Not 3 weeks later, a hole appeared in the seat of one of the chairs. Looking closely, there is a screw holding the frame together right under the hole so when you sit, it rubs. What poor design!!! Called customer service, they said "The tent is as is." I said "But it wasn't like this when I bought it!" Too bad, so sad. I should have gone to Menards!!!!! What a waste of $1,000. read more

Good product but financing is misleading. Says 0% for a certain period but when bills comes in it gives very small monthly payments and you are left to calculate paying off in the period they explained in the store otherwise you incur a very large interest charge. As opposed to Ashley furniture which gives you the rate you discussed in the store. Won't be returning to Dock 86 ever again. read more

As we purchased the couch and chair, we sat and listened to a man dealing with the same issue as we are now. The foreshadowing here couldn't have been any more clear. Poor customer service response and even worse products. Our sofa started falling apart after about 30 days of it being in our home. The seams at the top of the arms are unraveling on both sides, up near the back of the couch, between your shoulder and elbow. We called and called and called, only ever got the machine. And then we when finally reached someone five months later, they said they'd been trying to call. So we had the technician come out and assess the situation, ten months into having the couch. Never heard back from the technician. I called and left messages, no one ever called me back. Finally I got someone on the phone today, one year to the date of when we brought the furniture home, and the technician and customer service department deemed the damage negligent on our part and that the warranty wouldn't cover it. Right. How did I know this would be the result of a year of waiting? Also, they charge $70/per HALF hour for labor to make any repairs, but they will generously pay for parts. So, $560 to repair. OR, get this, they'll sell us a new couch for $350. None of this makes sense to me. The manufacture skimped on how they put the couch together and by sitting on the couch, it causes the seams to pull apart, but that's negligence. We're still dealing with this, but I'm so furious about this situation, I hope it stops at least one person from shopping at this business. Don't fall for the gimmick of "low prices" and don't be stupid enough to eat their cookie bait. They sell garbage and their ethic is atrocious. read more

Horrible place to buy anything! We bought a chair almost a year ago and we've had to fix it 4 times already! I asked for a refund, or even store credit to get something else and the woman told me that's what warranty is for, if we can fix it we will. I don't feel like calling every few months to get a chair fixed, this is ridiculous. and a waste of my time. not to mention how difficult it is to even schedule a time for someone to come out, they don't even give you a time, they give you a 4-6 hour time slot. Short version: Dock 86 was charging $100 more for a sofa than the brand name store (Ashley Furniture) and it was an older version that had been discontinued for over 6 months. Dock 86 was playing run around w/delivery dates of sofa, due to run around, we cancelled our order and purchased the same, but newer version and brand new (not floor model) sofa direct from Ashley and saved $100! Main takeaway: If you're in the market for furniture, go to all the brand name stores first and see what you like. If you have the time, then check out Dock 86 to see if somehow the price is cheaper on a similar product. From our experience it wasn't and the other sofas we considered at Dock 86 didn't seem that great of deals either. If you want a $5-6K leather sofa set for $2500, check this place out. But for lower end items to begin with (under $2K), you're not saving much and perhaps paying more like they tried to do to us! Long version: We visited Dock 86 on Saturday December 13th, 2014 after looking at a few other furniture stores. We were in the market for a comfy reclining sofa for TV and movie watching. The store is very open and bright, even though they had some construction going on. The store was laid out nicely and the products you're looking for are easy to find and compare. After trying many sofas at previous furniture stores and many at Dock 86, we found a winner. During our time walking around (about 10-15 mins) not a single sales person came up to us. After about 5 more minutes waiting at the sofa we wanted, because the salesman in our area was busy with a customer, another salesman who just finished with a customer down the way came over. He looked up the stock of the sofa we were interested in and told us they didn't have any current stock, but there should be a shipment arriving on December 14th (the very next day). He told us that there were 6 other customers in line for that sofa and we should pay today to reserve one of the sofas. He then told us that even though it may come in on the 14th, it wouldn't get checked into the system and we wouldn't be able to pick up until the store was open again next weekend (only open Friday-Monday). That was fine so we said we would pay 50% down now and the remainder when we picked it up on Friday (12/19) or Sunday (12/21). After connecting w/customer service twice during the week, they still had no ETA on the sofa. I got a voicemail on Saturday (12/20) stating that they had not received the sofas as expected and the new ETA was 12/30/14. About 10 minutes later I received another voicemail from the salesman stating that he didn't think the sofa would even be here on the 12/30/14 date he just gave me earlier and asked if I wanted the 3 week old floor model for 8.6% off. I was at a Christmas party during this time, thus did not return the call until later. I asked for my 50% down payment to be refunded back to my card. Their refund policy is 1-2 weeks! So we'll see how long that takes. We actually then went to Ashley Furniture in Fridley and found the exact same sofa, except newer (the one we saw at Dock 86 was a lighter color that was from a model version that was older and had been discontinued about 6 months ago) for $100 CHEAPER! So lesson learned, Dock 86 is NOT CHEAPER than the brand competitors. read more

I bought a 1300 dollar couch that after a year and a half is falling apart. Like broken springs, seat material falling apart allowing stuffing to come out. I have another couch bought at the same time that is used about the same amount that does not have a single issue. To spend this much money on a couch and then be told too bad that there was nothing they could do. I will never buy anything for this sorry excuse for a company every again. read more

Talked me out of the one I was there to get, and into a really great collection. I get enough sales and up selling in my average day. Was given a quote for an item which the sales person added numerous "add-ons" to -- like a loveseat, fabric protection, etc... We confirmed that if we went home to measure and came back the next day that the inventory would still be there and we would be able to order. I came back, got the order all set, handed over cash and the sales person got the total wrong -- twice. Said they had a tough computer system to update which is why it took 30 minutes (even though all my info was current since I just updated it when getting the quote) and then after scheduling my delivery and paying for my item. She let me know it actually wasn't available until OCTOBER... and this was July. Waste of time. Poor customer service. read more

There used to be HUGE selection of unique pieces...You worried whether you'd missed something as you serpentined thru the displays packed onto the floor. I stopped there today and was VERY disappointed by how they've pared down their inventory to the point there's not nearly the inventory there was. Prices seemed higher as well from what I remember. A lot of run of the mill furniture you find everywhere else. Just what we needed in the metro area. More run of the mill. Not. My experience with price matching: when a business offers to price match and isn't specific on their website about which types of retailers they price match with; I double check with their customer service via chat online. I confirm they price match with any retailer. I go into the store and ask about an item I'm looking at and ask to have it price matched. The first salesman tells me they don't price match with Amazon, only like minded physical stores. He doesn't say, "Let me double check to make sure with my manager." He aggressively refused my business because he says they cannot take that much of a price cut which is almost $200. I then ask a second salesperson about their price matching policy and he calls a manager twice, because the first time they were unreachable, and then tries to call them again, and confirms with a store manager that yes, they will price match the item in question. This was Dock 86 and Hom Furniture - salesman Josh Lamm from the mattress department was more helpful than the sales person in the actual department I was in! Josh was super helpful and professional and tried like mad to assist me in my questions regarding the price matching policy. You'd think in they end, they would want my business and to move inventory that isn't moving. Such a frustrating process I felt I did all of my due diligence prior to shopping. I made sure to get the store managers name which was Deb Peterson that said yes, they would price match with Amazon. Please make sure you're educating your sales reps and they shouldn't outright deny someone a sale - make sure to double check if they aren't sure. It's better to ask questions than to refuse business. I haven't yet made the purchase because I'm still searching for the lowest price I can afford and also still debating the purchase, but what an ordeal! read more

Ugggghhhh this place SUCKS! It is another HOM Furniture conglomerate so that alone is a reason to STAY away. The stuff they have there is CHEAP quality and the prices aren't even good. They have pieces from a brand called Styleline that you can get cheaper with free shipping from a variety of websites. I'd say its hit or miss, but I think its only MISS. The sales people are seriously underpaid and on commission which is the Hom Furniture way. They treat their employees so badly and it really shows. Our salesman actually fought with another guy on the floor for trying to help us. Then he took us to the back to show us what they have waiting to go out on the floor since we drove so far to get there and the warehouse manager chewed him and US out for being back there.
