My son Peyton has been attending since he was…read more8 months old and now he is 5 and his journey at FCA is coming to a bittersweet end as he transitions to kindergarten. From the beginning the love he received from Ms Lupe and Ms Maria was so reassuring in the infant class. The support he has received from the staff has always encouraged his development and hitting all of his developmental milestones. Ms Jabeen has been instrumental in his last year at FCA. She really takes the time to teach the kids and promotes their independence while still providing the comfort that my sensitive boy needs at times. I just received his annual portfolio and report card and the staff really went above and beyond to put this together for us. You can see his art and projects throughout the year in his binder and I can see the progress he has made from the beginning of the year until the end. The director Ms Maggie has been great as well as the teacher assistants. I LOVE Ms Cathy. Actually I love them all! On a separate note, I had a second baby a year and a half ago and I had no hesitation to have him join FCA as soon as I could (8 weeks old) because I knew what great care he would receive with Ms Lupe. He recently has transitioned to Ms Kira's class and is also doing great developmentally. The series is precipitated by the knowledge that I will be moving out of Fullerton next year, which already gives me a sense of loss. So let me tell you why Morningside gets all my stars, and a piece of my heart too. Presumably, if you are reading this entry, then you are a local parent in need of juggling a job and childcare, and, so, are considering Morningside. You might be a new parent feeling some anxiety about giving their child over to teachers and staff who they don't know from Adam. I know that I and my wife did. We made calls. We did site visits. Read reviews. But prepare and research as we might, the idea of handing the kids over--literally passing the children over the safety gate to the Toucans' Class--was something that we managed to keep at a distance until the day came. Now, looking back on that day, which happened years ago, I realize that what I was doing was handing our kids over to some of the most caring, loving women I possibly could, ladies who consistently kept the well-being of our kids at heart. Unlike so many yelp reviews nowadays that rate a business without even patronizing the business, this review is written by someone who has sent two kids through Morningside. To learn to care so much for kids who are, in the end, not your own kids, presents challenges that I've not even fathomed. It is easy to get grossed out when your own kid throws up or soils their diapers. It is difficult for me to contain my anger when I see one of my kids throw objects at the other with intent to harm. I challenge you to take a full minute to imagine the patience and compassion required of you to tend to these and other needs of *other parents'* kids, say, when that other kid gets diarrhea or when he bites you on the forearm. Teachers at Morningside succeed on this score. This is one reason I insist that Ms. Katie and Ms. Katrina, Ms. Erica and Ms. Kay, Ms. Kathy and Ms. Heidi, Ms. Julie and Ms. Amanda, Ms. Jenny and Ms. Kelly get all my stars and, yes, a piece of my heart too. Because they continue to love and care for my kids, and because of how they do this. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Both of my children have graduated from this Early Childhood Learning Center in the last few years. Both were completely ready for kindergarten academically and socially. The nurturing and values they teach are to me the most important part. The staff is creative and always changing up the activities and decor. For example they don't just have an area for kids to ride tricycles they made a path with a bridge. At one point it had a car wash and now they are making a gas station. I truly felt my children were loved and safe at ECLC. I would recommend it with ten stars if I could.

As a former Montessori student, this school stays true to the Montessori method of teaching. There are plenty of hands-on learning materials that are age appropriate from 2 years old in preschool to 7 years old in K-1. The kids are able to learn at their own pace and enjoy an environment of collaborative play and learning. Every child of mine who entered preschool had their initial episodes of tears and crying in the first few months. But the teachers at Montessori of Brea are so kind with their loving voices, gentle nudges, and guided redirection to help the children focus on their learning and forget about the separation from parents. Ms. Kim was our preschool teacher for our first 2 daughters and is currently teaching our 3 year old. Our whole family LOVES Ms. Kim! When my two older grade school kids come to pick up our baby, they ALWAYS have to come to give Ms. Kim a hug! She is caring, loving, and has great communication with parents at drop off and/or pick up. There are a total of 4 teachers for the classroom, but I'm amazed at Ms. Kim's organization and memory having to be the primary teacher of 28+ kids and knowing each child's ability. I can barely handle remembering my 3! Ms. Dana was our most recent K-1 teacher and she is just as great! Her lessons helped prepare my daughter for school outside of Montessori. Her open communication and constant use of technology helped prepare us for future apps used in grade school. Ms. Dana was very active in providing updates, even sending pictures to all the class parents of special events and personal messages for individual achievements! With the help of ALL the teachers at Montessori of Brea, our oldest daughter got into GATE (Gifted & Talented Education) and is excelling. Our second daughter is reading three grade levels above her current grade and is thriving at her new school thanks to the teachers and Montessori of Brea. I can only give my highest recommendation for this place! I tell all my neighbors and friends in the area about Montessori of Brea because it has helped our children succeed in and out of the classroom.

After observing different schools in the area and speaking in-depth with the staff, I felt MoB was truly the best place for my brilliant children. If you take a tour, you will observe busy children enthusiastically working with a level of focus you do not see in traditional preschools/kindergartens. The education is top quality, and the staff friendly, patient, and extremely knowledgeable in child development. Three of my children graduated from MoB, with my youngest being the most recent graduate. They were under the exceptional guidance of Ms. Tess (lead teacher and also a music scholar), Ms. Padmini, Ms. Cindy, Ms. Dana, Mr. Vargas, and Ms. Nayna. We are so grateful for their contribution to our children's development. Every one my kids graduated from MoB with high-level reading and math skills, a love for science, strong musical knowledge, a love and respect for nature and the Earth, as well as high self-confidence and independence. My oldest children, now 12 and 10, are in GATE (Gifted and Talented Education program) in the public school system, and continue to excel. I have no doubt my youngest, who recently graduated from MoB, will also qualify for the GATE program. Watching both of them grow, develop confidence, and genuinely enjoy going to school has been incredibly rewarding and affirms our decision. As a school, Arborland is exceptionally well organized. The campus is clean, secure, and well maintained, and the staff consistently demonstrate professionalism, kindness, and a genuine commitment to the children. They genuinely enjoy that time with their friends and teachers, so much so that there are days when they do not want to leave.
