July 29,2026, I had 2 rear tires replaced by them w/ new Hercules offbrand. Aug 4, i took the car out for the first time and drove to Asheville. The right rear tire was flat. I drove to Firestone on Patton. They said the tire had black powder from the filing of the edges to make it fit the metal rim and that the heat, the overfilling and over aggressive filing left a loose fit around the metal rim that had let air escape. I later confirmed this theory with a deputy from the Sherrif's office. Aug 5 i took the tire back to FT&W and demanded my money back. They took possession of the tire and only refunded $75, half of the tire's $150 price. They said i had hit a curb with the rear right tire and thats why it was flat. They also said there was nothing wrong w/ the tire. I have 4 witnesses that will confirm my account of events, as well as receipts of what work was done when, and by who.

As a newish resident of Burnsville, I relied on locals to steer me to my next tire place, and our…read moretown FB group seem to love Phil's. So, I needed two tires, and this being a small town, I called to ask if I should make an appointment because I've spent hours at a Firestone even with an appointment. They were incredibly courteous on the phone, and that extended to my visit. The two tires I received were comparably priced to Wal-Mart, but I'm absolutely 100% positive that I didn't have to drive 40 minutes to get subpar service, so I would have paid more to avoid the headache. I went and had breakfast while I waited, and hit the thrift store. I was gone less than 45 minutes, and my car was done and waiting for me when I returned. I was so pleased with the experience that I made an appointment for the other two tires, and any repairs I may need in the future. If you are local, you already love this place. If you are visiting, or a part-time resident - this is where you go to not get ripped-off or hassled. I should also mention, they were kind enough to check on my brakes as a courtesy. Ample seating in the waiting area, and adequate enough parking for the size crew they have. If the parking lot is full and you didn't make an appointment, I think you'd likely be in for a wait. Google Maps wanted me to access Phil's from Main St., but you have to do so from 19 - FYI.
