We ordered a family size half cheese, half pepperoni pizza. The pizza was decent. It did lack seasonings in flavor. The pepperoni side had more flavor than the cheese side. The cheese was very bland. We also ordered the garlic cheese bread. I was not a fan of it, but my family liked it a lot. The cheese is very thick and the bread is flaky. The ambience of this place was very old style. It's a Friday during Lent, so stopped in for some Fish & Chips. Food and Service did not disappoint. My family has been going here for over 40 years. I was so disappointed yesterday when we stopped for lunch. Disappointing. My wife and i have been making the trek from Hyde Park all the way to 93rd and Cicero to carry out pizza from you for more than 15 years. We normally love your thin crust pizza and your broasted chicken as well. But 6 months ago, we ordered our usual, and when we got home it was clearly burned, and dry, and basically inedible. Instead of phoning in our displeasure, we decided to return the pizza and ask the manager on duty that evening to address this situation. After showing her the pizza, with a totally unnecessary poor attitude she claimed that all Fox's Pizzas looked like that. After we disagreed, and encouraged her to look back at the years of history of pizzas we've ordered, with that same ugly attitude, in a huff, refolded up the pizza box, shoved it back at me and told me the best the best she could do is to give us $2 off our next pizza order. We never gave Fox's Pizza a chance to give us $2 off our next pizza order. We have not been back. That same night, only three blocks away at 95th Street and Cicero, we tried Palermo's pizza. We fell in love with their sauce and crisp crust. In a way, we want to thank Fox's Pizza, for their poor customer service six months ago. This is one if those places who is going to compensate for the recession by helping create it. The prices are so unreasonable, I almost walked out, but one waitress caught my eye so I stayed. Our waiter was decent - no bells or whistles - but he did the job - the bare minimum - but he did the job. I ordered an Italian Beef. The beef - just the sandwich was $13.99. You can see by the picture below the they were charging $11.99 too much. The $13.99 doesn't include fries. Fries are an extra $5.00. You can see by the picture below the order of fries wasn't even one whole potato. I asked the kid to make it wet. He said, "We don't do that here. I'll give you the au jous on the side." Whatever. When the food came, my buddy asked why I skipped on the hot peppers. This joint charges $1.50 for hot peppers. Thats ridiculous. The meat was fatty and dry at the same time. The bread was cut for the lunch crowd, and we were the late dinner crowd. The amount of meat - even this low grade leather - was laughably small. The au jous was Gaucho from the Jewels. It wasn't even legit au jous. Again, mind the photo. Then there were three slices of pickles that didn't know if they were dill or kosher, but they were sure they were mushy and nearly flavorless. This is the last time I'll be crossing the threshold into that mediocre money pit. Screw me once - shame on me. Screw me twice - you're not getting a 20% tip. (He got 15%.) The waitress was lovely - we spoke briefly. It's a shame the place is such a clip joint. I'd go back again and again just to see her. Happy hour is the best here, and Sue is the reason why we always come. I had to have the Sheppard pie which of course is a good sized portion for happy hour and my regular Blue Moon on draft with lemons and oranges of course. You want Irish, this is the place to go to on the south side. The restaurant is absolutley vintage and I live for that! It's a time warp for me and i appreciate that so much being born in the late 60's. Sincerely I do adore the realistic Irish flavor and the kindness of Sue and the other waitresses. They are kind and very motherly, They know the menu and are very honest on picks. You can't go wrong here, even the short ribs are awesome and tangy. And the pastrami on rye, what! Definitely not going to give them a good review just because it's been around for ever but we've been here twice over the last 2-3 years and the quality of their pizza is not good. Always, always over cooked. The Foxs special looks absolutely nasty. I honestly through out the leftovers when we got home cause it was disgusting. And for some reason the cheese/topping never stay on the pizza. My niece had a cheese pizza and 15 minutes later I had 1 bite and cheese came completely off. No stars! Horrible- Been going here for years after tonight, never again. We usually do pizza on Wednesday and/ or Saturday. The last 5 times the sauce has barely been present on the pizza. Now to get into what happened this day. Horrible customer service and racist behavior from the manager. After purchasing my usual order I go outside where I see a truck has parked a little too close to our sharing line (no problem for me ). As I go over the puddle of water I look behind me and in the window, I can see an older guy staring and mouthing something as if I did something wrong and throwing his hands out. I mouth back whats wrong. I'm wondering if the guy is ok why is he staring at me like that did I do something (genuinely concerned as to what the guy thought happened). This guy runs out of the restaurant as I proceeded to try to enter the vehicle before I could blink this guy is in my face yelling. I'm stuck because if I move too fast I risk falling in water and possible hitting his truck (never touched his truck before during or after this encounter). The guy starts yelling calling me out of my name as I'm asking him what's his problem and why is he in my face. He reaches his hand in his pocket as if he was about to grab something. My fiance jumped in the middle asking the guy to go finish doing whatever he was doing and let me finish getting in the car. The guy proceeds to express how he feels. Then says if you touch me you'll all go to jail i jave a heart problem. Out comes the manager. His first words were "can y'all leave" talking to me and my fiance in a disgusted tone. He never asked what happened or what was going on if everyone was ok he immediately went and stood next to the aggressor and encouraged the behavior. The cops showed up and after things settled we asked the manager if we could return the order the manager said why should I do that. We told him it was unnecessary the way he came out he didn't ask what happened. He then said he DID NOT SEE NOR CARE what happened he just wanted to defuse the situation. I informed him that in order to defuse a situation it's best to know what happened or what is going on. He proceeded to say he didn't care. I informed him that his other customer ran from the register after just waking inside for 3 seconds and ran to my face cursing at me calling me out of my name. Yesterday we were looking for somewhere to sit down and eat. We had never been here before and I'm glad we came. We started out with the appetizer combo which was somewhere around $14. It came with onion rings, mozzarella sticks, mushrooms, zucchini sticks and then ranch dressing and marinara. I don't like mushrooms at all, and the zucchini sticks were kind of weird. But I did really like the onion rings and mozzarella sticks. We also ordered a large sausage pizza which was really delicious. The crust reminded me of like a cracker crust, it was very crispy and crunchy but not burnt at all. The sausage had so much flavor and the cheese and sauce ratio was perfect. This was probably one of the better pizzas that I've had in a while. We loved it. My only complaint was the pizza was a little bit oily, other than that everything was perfect! read more

We ordered a thin Fox's Special ( medium) it was not cut and the cheese was yellow...It wasn't thin either! Went for a funeral luncheon. This was our 2nd go-round as my family had another luncheon there a few years back. The menu was standard. I don't know the ppp. We had: rolls with butter- soft, but just meh. Many at my table LOVED them, tho, so we are all different. Salad- actually the ranch dressing was incredibly good. Totally a great ranch dressing. Pasta: I did not eat it, but others complained at the table. One described it as "tinny" tasting, but this isn't an Italian restaurant, so perhaps don't offer it? Beef: standard and what you'd expect. Nothing special, but edible. Fried chicken: no better or worse than any others I have had. Corn: I refused it, looked like....well... corn. Mashed potatoes: they are potatoes, but I did not eat mine. The taste was terrible to my palate. Service: Kind waitresses and really good, except when I told the woman about my allergies, she never told me if I was safe to eat. I had to ask another server. Still, I am giving a star for the service because they were all so very nice. Here is where I feel they went wrong. Doggy bag policy: are you KIDDING me? THEY SAID NO to our request for containers for the leftover food. We had some small amounts left and we asked for some containers cuz I can only ASSUME they were gonna toss out our leftovers. The young gal manager came out. She was nice, not belligerent, but firm on her no. I said what a waste it was that they would toss out food. She said that is their policy for family style. I was not happy, and told her what a bad decision it was to THROW AWAY food. OMG! I feel that because I am so mad about their policy, that personally, I would never return. (Of course, I did not pay for the luncheon, but I'd never consider them.) So, only 2 stars total. Good service, and some of the food was pretty decent. 3 stars lost for the food I did not care for, and their doggy bag policy. We think Fox's has the best pizza. The sauce is just right. I've been going to Fox's for decades. Their salad with the hard boiled egg is the best with creamy garlic dressing. The deep fried mushrooms are very good. Fox's is a tradition for us. We go to Florida for the winter and you have a hard time finding good pizza there. I've had it in the past, it just wasn't up to par.. So I asked for a side of Alfredo sauce and some parmesan cheese to fix the flavor is because it was lacking and. I've had it in the past and it was really good. Just must have been a bad cooking day... I was surfing the reviews for this a week and I found across a few complaints about the food so maybe they have a different cook... I hope the managers read these reviews and taking consideration what customers are saying.. If not for anything but for their business sake.. unfortunately human nature of customers tend not to go back if they're not satisfied and they don't complain either. This place is disgusting! We always go to the Orland or Mokena locations (which are great) but had a flight to catch at Midway so stopped here and wished we didn't! First ordered Sprites and the syrup bag clearly needed to be replaced so got Cokes. Ordered fried zucchini and one of them had a piece of fried plastic stuck to it which my mom put in her mouth... the potato skins were missing the chives that come on them. The reuban and shepherds pie were GROSS and took one bite of each. At this point we asked to speak to a manager (tall blonde woman) who made excuses that didn't explain why the food was so disgusting lol but took the shepherds pie and reuban off the bill. Our poor server then asked us if the manager was mad at her and seemed afraid, we assured her that she didn't nothing wrong but we felt very bad for her! My husband and I really need to thank the staff and manager last night for accommodating our party of 15 at last minute. Our reservation fell through at another place and we were scrambling to find somewhere to celebrate Mother's Day with my mother in law. Even though we had an hour to eat (they closed at 9pm) and the rest of our family didn't show up until 8:30pm we still had a really nice time. My husband and I, having previous restaurant work experience, know the last hour is usually clean up and drawer count time. We always feel horrible showing up anywhere an hour before closing. The manager could've told us no, she also could have been really rude to us for showing up an hour before they closed, but she wasn't. She was very pleasant and a joy to talk to. Our family had never been to Fox's before...we, however, had visited the Hinsdale location a couple years ago and knew the food was delicious! We tried the Bruschetta pizza and I am definitely coming back to try it with chicken next time (suggested by the manager) The rest of the pizzas and the appetizers were delicious as well! Not a bad lunch spot. While having my car serviced at a dealership a couple of blocks down the street, I decided to check this location out on a whim. Irish themed pub with a good amount of beer choices, as well as pizza and chicken wing choices. I wanted something light, and the food met my expectations. The IPA beer was Chicago-style heavy and hoppy, which is how I liked it. The server was good. Not great, yet good. I know that she had other a party of 12 ladies to deal with at the time, so I gave her a break. It just took a minute to get the check, as well as being somewhat light on the conversation. For some reason, the decor within the pub is more on the dark side, even in siting at the window. No matter. I chilled out, perused social media and had a couple of brews before I received the call that my car was ready to be picked up. If I could give this place 0 stars, trust me, I would. The employee was very unenthusiastic, (and possibly on the spectrum) and there was hair in my food. little do they know, I love hair in my food. I licked the pizza sauce off of it and I added it to my collection. There were rats running around everywhere and one of them stole a slice of my pizza! The employees didn't try to get them out and they were just feeding them tiny pieces of cheese! I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich. The bun was burnt. However, what made it worse was that I almost cracked a tooth on the unrecognizable object. See photo. The waitress called over the manager. I showed the manager the "space rock" and she said, "What is this I'm looking at?" I told her it was in my sandwich (which I only took maybe 3 bites out of before pulling off the burnt portion of the bun and biting the crap rock). She then said, "Well, if that 'supposedly' came from here, that isn't something in our kitchen or anything that we have. It could have come off of the chicken." I was highly offended by the way she said "supposedly' and her implied message. I have been Googling trying to figure out what the rock, piece of crap, or whatever the disgusting object is.
