I went today for the first time and I will never be back. I was followed around the store and watched like a hawk the entire time I was walking around. The clothes look cheap and bad quality, the jewelry looks plastic, and the employees have a sour puss on their face and are not friendly at all. If I were to be treated this way in the Channel store or Newman Marcus, I would not be offended, but I don't see why these employees acted like they were guarding the Louvre in Paris. I would not have purchased anything in that store even if they paid me to take it. Everyone should take their money elsewhere! read more

This Fox's is much large than the Fox's in Boca with a huge selection of shoes, sandals & handbags. There is a large selection of artsy inexpensive costume jewelry that look like fun. Racks of beautiful handbags, and evening bags were very tempting and looked much more expensive than they were priced. There were two floors of casual and formal summer and autumn closing that were displayed beautifully. It's a shame I need nothing because there is a lot here. When is a bargain not a bargain? Sorry Fox's. But the great deals I found today didn't match my social commitment to buying from diversified manufacturing sources. Quality was definitely up here. And prices unbelievably reasonable. What a great place to buy as I have for years . I'd like to have seen more of a mix. Most labels were only from one place. Preferring to mix it up. Italy, France, China. Vietnam, India, México, the US. It's important to read a label and see independent buying power evidenced by at least a few items at a living wage made in the US. Not seeing one thing made in the US here and only a sprinkling of items from Italy. Had to pass. And believe me it's not easy to do. Now I'm heading to a nearby Deli that has about 6 adult men working there for the past 15 years that are clearly able to afford a house car and clothes. I know this based on the price of the sandwiches they make. Lol and the length of time they've all been there. So Foxes. The new mood here is show me some labels made in the USA. read more

There are only two stores where the Mad Russian (MR) will ever go shopping in person in our town and Fox's is one of them. In a house where nearly 100% of our purchases arrive on our doorstep, it's nice to know that there is a store or two left that are worth making a trip. I've been inside with her several times and it always seems there is something new. Rarely do we leave and not have a bag or two of new found treasures. The fact that the store is laid out in a way that can hold MR's attention for more than 15 minutes is a testament itself on how to shop for clothes. I didn't go often to the store but needed to buy some weeding stuff for my sister, who is not live in New York so came a few times to Brooklyn location. Was buying, then returned some, buying again. After the last return, I discover that I did't get return receipts for VIsa and for Amex they don't give receipts, as cashier told me. After i finally finished with all stuff I needed and checked my credit cards, I was shucked to find out that it was the big difference in amount of buying and returns... I went to the store with all my receipts and printouts form credit cards. To my surprise, nobody where able to help me, including a manager Alla, who was telling that I created a line for people who want to buy the cloth.. She doesn't want to see my documents and advised to call to my credit cards saying that it's happened often here... When I sad that I need a proof of returns, she said they can't provide it me.. It's just terrible. I lost a lot of money and advised to everybody to be careful. read more

I have tried to like Fox's because it is supposed to be a designer discount store. There's two stories, the downstairs has some jewelry, bags, and designer clothes. This place is a hit or a miss though, if you come in see a sweater you like and expect it to be there three days later when you finally came around to buying it, well it most likely won't be there. On the positive side to that, they constantly receive shipments of new clothes all the time. There are SOME deals, some. The jewelry isn't cheap for the quality. There is always a spread of bagels and donuts out while you are shopping but lets be real, what woman wants to snag a bagel with some cream cheese while they are trying to fit into a designer dress? Not me. The upstairs has a large selection of shoes, casual wear, and formal gowns. There is definitely a big selection no doubt but if you see something you like, good luck finding more than one if the first one you saw wasn't your size. Here's the best part, I went in Saturday morning desperately searching for a short sleeved shirt I could wear with leggings, (no such luck by the way) and I walked into the dressing room. NO DOORS. I repeat, NO DOORS. As in, women stripping down in front of one another. There is nothing stopping a man from waltzing up those stairs right into those rooms. I feel like this is not legal? I don't know I could be wrong but it definitely FELT WRONG. Get some doors, women need their privacy when they are trying on clothes!!! Oh, and the return policy is one day or else you will only receive store credit? That just doesn't work for me and I'm sure it doesn't work for anyone else who has a busy schedule. read more

I dunno.... this place didn't impress me, and quite frankly, I've seen much better costume jewelry for much less money elsewhere. I don't know why they have to charge so much. I used to shop here a lot but I went in today, and employees were attacking a female politician about her looks and laughing in such a rude way. First of all, that's really unprofessional and regardless of what your political views are, you shouldn't openly speak of politics at work - keep it professional. Secondly, how off-putting to see women criticize another woman due to her appearance. It's just plain mean and degrading and I don't think this type of conversation should be openly had between employees on the clock. Won't be shopping here again. read more

A great experience! No matter when you walk in to the Fox's in Marlboro, NJ, you are greeted by the women who graciously attend to your needs of the day. On my latest shopping event, I was perplexed as to what to buy for my 15 year old granddaughter. Julie appeared and introduced me to"Free People" and other fashions for teen girls. Staff was helpful at this Huntington Women's Discount Clothing store thats been around forever. I had always felt this place focused on the"Working Girl" look. Which I associated this store with "older women" who wore pant-suits and professional clothing. I still have prejudice that it's where your Female Psychiatrists and Mother in Laws all buy clothes. Wife and I were very surprised she actually found a beautiful Tahari by Arthur S. Levine dress originally priced at $180.00 down to $69.00, a great score. I'll put a photo up asap. Men's room was out of order and I wish they were a bit stricter with a no pet policy as I saw one too many lap-dogs being coddled by said snobby older women. The shoes and accessories departments were lackluster in comparison to other discount retailers like Burlington Coat Factory for example. Purses were blah as well. read more

I'm a married guy and to insure domestic tranquillty if we happen to be walking around Huntington before dinner and we come upon a store like Fox's it is my job to say "Of course I'll wait while you walk around the store and touch every single garment and shoe and belt that they have" "Oh, and may I hold your coat and pocetbook while you try that on?" So why 4 stars for Fox's? They have a man pit!! Couches arranged in a square around a coffe table with bagels and coffee on the table!! So while the Ladies shop the menfolk can hang comfortably. Great idea Fox's, the only thing I would add would be a couple of dancers in cages above the manpit. That wil get you 5 stars and a bunch of guys asking their wives "Would you like to go to Fox's tonight dear?" "I'll even hold your pocketbook." read more

Interesting to see just 2 reviews for this store, and the negatives that both mentioned were the sales people - the "we're closing" attitude even though there are customers in the store, and the lack of privacy in the dressing rooms. I would say, that those two things definitely color my experience of this store. The clothes seem pretty interesting, but I am not a constant customer, and as a result I was treated as if I am invisible whenever I go in. I've been there with one of their regulars, so I know the difference. I have purchased shoes, a handbag, and one shirt there in the last year - and I would frequent the store more often if the sales people were just a little nicer. I would usually go to Fox's in Huntington or Mineola, but I stopped by their Forest Hills location to see what they had. I will never go there again. The rudest lady was behind the counter and said she couldn't help me but someone would be with me shortly. She was on her iPhone behind the counter for a while before I left, at least 7 minutes or so, which feels like 20 when you're on your lunch break and just want to pay. On my way out the security guard apologized to me and said there would be another manager there in a little while that could help me. I was like "another manager?" And he was like "yea, that's the store manager." Really?? I thanked him, but I didn't go back. And by the way, the two shirts I was going to buy, nobody helped me find them. I helped myself. Nobody even said hello to me, except the security guard. A very different experience than that of other Fox's. read more

Costumer service is terrible. At least the Huntington store. At least one of the ladies are. Spend almost $300 and still they said they won't take a credit card and said they only take credit as a courtesy. But almost 300 and still not taking credit cards?!.. That's ridiculous.. This woman also appears to be racist. I've been there a few times with my mom and she always gives us the dirtiest look. The other workers are wonderful, but this lady has the biggest attitude. She should not be working in a customer service position. Been there a few times and always had a problem with the same exact lady. Don't go there. At least to the Huntington store. Terrible. This place is great! Went to the Huntington location. They had sooooo many cute and affordable good quality items it was so hard not to buy everything. There was one saleswoman there who was very welcoming and explained the purpose of the store and the lay of the land (like no doors on fitting room, which I didn't care about there's enough privacy). With my large amount of restraint and small budget I got a super cute blouse and a silk/cotton cardigan for me and one for my mom. Already got a coupon for next time via email! Can't wait to go back with a bigger budget lol read more

Just minus the one star here. The employees, and I think one lady might've been the owner, completely ignored me, helping other more fashion forward looking women. Just appalling behavior. I made it so obvious I wanted assistance and they still brushed me aside. I left the one blouse I might've purchased on the floor and didn't put the jewelry back I had tried on. Then I stormed out, and basically told those biatches to go F themselves adding that I had a decent chunk of money from a car accident settlement to go spend elsewhere. I had never been to this store before and decided I would take a look. They had good brands and decent prices on some stuff. I was excited about the stuff I was going to try on. I found a top that I was maybe going to wear to my bridal shower. My fiancé was with me and came back by the dressing rooms so I could get his opinion. All of a sudden the woman next to me starts making a scene and says to my fiancé "You shouldn't be back here, why are you back here". She gets the manager and says "He isn't allowed back here is he?" She didn't seem to have as much as problem and said "O yeah you have to wait over there" my fiancé kindly said he came over so I could show him what I tried on and walked out of the room. As I was in the dressing room the woman and the manager were whispering about him and says "You know I was naked in here, going on and on.." like my fiancé was looking at the 60year old naked woman . At this point I was uncomfortable and infuriated and they made my fiancé uncomfortable. Their was a better way of going about that and yelling at him and making him uncomfortable was NOT it. I walked out and you will not get my money or my respect. *PSA* FYI their dressing room curtains are SHEER. Their is no point in even having them because you can see right through them, whether or not you are standing in front of them or outside the room. What I will give you is a some advice to get some actual curtains so your customers don't think people are looking at them naked. I will never go back there again. read more

Always have a diverse selection of clothing and very good prices. Friendly staff that are always willing to help. The clothes are usually well organized and the store feels very open, not stuffy and crowded like other clothing shops. Just remember to have cash or debit card, no credit cards! And the return policy is different for most clothing stores, so be sure to ask about it. read more

I had a very unsettling experience at Fox's yesterday. I was there, trying dresses on with my sister. First of all, their dressing rooms do not have curtains, so you are forced to change in front of the staff (let alone, people you don't know) and very close to the door of the fitting room. It's not very safe, nor private. While we were changing, the dressing room woman reminded us to please put our clothing back on the rack, which of course we said we would do. The woman previous to me must have left clothing on the floor, which I didn't even notice was there. I put my two dresses back and left my sister changing in there. My sister came out and told me that the dressing room woman said to her, about me, "I told her to put her things back on the rack!" And further scolded me to my sister. My sister was nice about it, but then stopped responding after the woman kept scolding. My sister told me what happened, so naturally, I went to apologize to the woman, and tell her that those weren't my clothes and I didn't even see them. I found her in the dressing room, and nicely said, "I apologize, those weren't my clothes!" She didn't even LOOK at me. I thought maybe she didn't hear me, so I said it again. Again, not even a look up. I looked at my sister and told her we had to go. Ridiculous! I left the store, very upset, and walked down the block. However, I went back in and talked to the manager. She was very nice about it when I explained the situation to her, and told me that that woman is "usually very good." I don't care what she usually is--you simply cannot disrespect ANYONE, let alone a customer, like that! I am baffled at how rude she was! I'll never be stepping foot in there again. It has some really great finds, good brands/upscale designers sometimes for a great price. But you can find that elsewhere...like Marshalls, TJ Max, Loehmans, etc. The one thing this store has that the others don't is tons of negative energy, catttiness and attitude. Ruddest staff ever! They also don't accept credit cards - at least that's what the really rude, disorganized sales woman told me when I went to pay, after I had to yell at her for taking a customer who clearly was cutting the line right in front of me. I waited for 15 minutes though I was next in line to pay for one item because the cashier women were 100% incompetent and slow. The dressing rooms have no doors or curtains, seems like it may be some sort of anti-shoplifting tactic but it looks like a concentration camp in there, very uncomfortable. It was my first purchase there and I am 100% done with this place. They should be investigated for all kinds of violations. No credit cards accepted, no doors in the dressing room, tons of video cameras recording everything...you do the math. I will certainly not be returning. In response to Olivia. First of all, you are there to shop and it is their job to pick up the clothes after the customer tries it on. They are getting paid to do that. Some customers are nice enough to return the clothes but some don't. Employees should not have an attitude about it! I've been shopping here for years and really am pretty baffled by some of these negative reviews. Fox's is my go to shop for a last minute party dress, discounted Free People and all accessories (great jewelry, shoes and bags!) Some times you have to dig to find the good stuff, but there's always a gem of a deal to be found. My favorite aspect of the store is that it offers such a wide range of styles; I can find boho/casual stuff, job interview appropriate clothes and date night dresses under one roof. My only gripe is that they only take debit cards/cash but otherwise Fox's is one of my favorite places to shop. read more
