Ben was really great to speak to for our first conversation and discovery to understand what we were hoping to have captured throughout our wedding day. Then Bailey took over to coordinate things leading up to the big day and she was speedy to communicate, had suggestions for us on timing and number of hours to purchase, and kept us in the loop on timing for our questionnaire as well as who we would be working with on the day of as our filmmaker. Ian was our lead filmmaker for the day of the event and we could not be more grateful for what we created for us to capture the day. We got the video back in just over 2 months (WOW - so incredibly fast!!!) and watched it the other night for the first time and were blown away with how he captured every moment, our silliness with each other and with our family/friends, how he transitioned from moment to moment to tell the full story and how beautiful the entire video turned out. I had a few days to hire a crew and I called around to several businesses and individual professionals...I found the town was busy, and the options were limited. Most people I talked to, was a mix between fielding a lot of strange questions and negotiating what I could expect with the limited budget I was working with...nothing that filled me with a lot of confidence. I'm generally skeptical of negotiating with someone I've never worked with and can't assess the experience/quality of what it is that I'm negotiating. Moreover, as someone who works in film and tv in Los Angeles, I wanted some certainty that the quality in Chicago would be the same as what I was familiar with my network back in LA. I was running out of time, when a good friend recommended Ben Mahoney's company. From the minute I talked to Ben, he immediately put me at ease. He listened to my specific production needs and worked with me on the budget to find a solution. He could not have been more accommodating at what I considered to be the 11th hour! He definitely understood the type of shoot we were doing and the logistics of the space and sent his crew supplied with what he though would work for the shoot. I've been colleagues with them for years so I know they are just great guys (and gals). Simply a great team of dedicated and TALENTED people. Everyone from Ben to Steph to Jack to A-aron are just really great to work with. I've recently had them do some shoots for my company and everything from setting up the shoot to the final product was flawless. Totally flexible and accommodating with my crazy schedule. I simply gave them my vision and they nailed it! In this industry, there are far too many people who are in it to 'make a buck'.
