We thoroughly enjoyed both of our stays at Anchor Inn on the Lake. We stayed several nights both times and had great experiences. The owners are incredibly nice and accommodating. The breakfast is delicious, unique, and different every day. There are paddle boats and kayaks to take out on the lake, a humongous deck to enjoy wonderful views of the lake and local wildlife, and spacious rooms to relax and stay in if desired. One of the rooms has a cool 2nd level with a jacuzzi tub that has a great 360 degree view. And the sheets....OH MY GOODNESS the sheets!! There are several layers of sheets and covers on top of an already comfortable bed, which makes for a night's sleep like no other. I always have trouble sleeping, but not there! The Inn is in a great location. It is out far enough to enjoy a peaceful and serene environment but close enough to the attractions of Branson and the surrounding areas. You just can't beat the great location. They also have a rewards program to earn free nights. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay around Branson.

The breakfast was delicious- we had French toast with nuts and strawberries. There is a large common deck to sit outside and a sun room. The Mediterranean room has its own private deck as well. There is direct lake access from the property and you can use their two kayaks or paddle boat. The sheets on the bed are absolutely amazing and the two person jetted tub is wonderful and well kept. It was a wonderful getaway and worth every penny for its level of relaxation and seclusion. There is also free wifi and great cell signal.

VRBO Property # 7220935ha 160 Canyon Crossing…read more I did not book my stay here and was a guest of the party that booked and am not able to leave a review on VRBO therefore, I'm informing others via social media channels. The host of this VRBO property resides somewhere in Florida and owns several vacation properties in the Branson area and other states. This host either doesn't care how the house looks or doesn't want to know, and just wants to collect your $$. The house appears great on VRBO, however upon arrival, it appeared to be minimally cared for. A portion of the basement ceiling was sagging and two holes punctured the middle of the sag along with a bucket on the floor, indicating it was leaking at some point. The house cleaning was incomplete, there were stains and rubbish on the floor, doors and walls. The dining room chairs' faux leather was torn in patches. The porch was stained with what looked like either fireworks or smoking stains. The porch swing was haphazardly cushioned. The trash box had trash from the previous guests. When contacted about an issue with the cable box the first evening, the host defensively claimed no one else had a problem. The host's assistant sent cable personnel the next morning and they spent considerable time fixing the issue. The grill on the deck has not been cleaned, the grease pan was thick with grease. Grease drippings were on the deck. Cobwebs were on the ceiling. The pool was drained dry the next day due to an apparent leak. It took a day to be repaired and refilled. When we had an issue with being inadvertently locked out due to a miscommunication, the host was contacted to try to resolve the issue. The host was immediately irritated and began insulting my party with profanity and name-calling. The lock issue was eventually resolved by a locksmith arranged by her assistant, however, at our expense. Spend your money and time with a host who will appreciate your business.

Stayed at Westgate Branson Woods Resort and it's honestly a mixed bag…read more The amenities here are amazing, especially for families. The "Fun House" is a huge win with a rock climbing wall, arcade, and craft area for kids. There's also a full schedule of daily activities, which keeps everyone busy. Between the indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, half basketball court, sand volleyball, putt putt, playgrounds, and walking/hiking paths... there is a lot to do. No complaints at all on that side. They also have a restaurant on site along with a marketplace for basics, snacks, and ice cream, which is super convenient. Where it falls short is the rooms. They are very outdated and definitely need some maintenance. Cleanliness was also an issue for me--I ended up cleaning the bathroom myself before using it, which is not something you want to deal with on vacation. For amenities, 5 stars. For rooms and cleanliness, 1 star Overall, great property and amenities, but the rooms need some serious attention to match the rest of the experience.

The grounds are kept beautifully. The pools stay open late. The fun house is a great feature if you have kids. The shuttle came promptly. The bad: cleanliness is big for me and there were some issues. The floor was absolutely filthy. 5 minutes of being in the room, my son who crawls has black dirty knees and our feet were all dirty. There were pieces of cereal on the floor when we arrived. This is a huge issue for me as it demonstrates they cut corners in hygienic practice. The rooms need serious updating; from the seats to the appliances that barely worked. They've installed the cheapest microwaves they could find as anything we tried do warm became rubbery and impossible to consume. The sign at the entrance says luxury, there is nothing luxury about dirty floors and cheap appliances. Dining... we know this isn't an all inclusive that's going to have all these food options, but the website says a restaurant and the restaurant is closed and for lease. This west gate property is generally subpar.

Details of our stay--received an email the day before our arrival stating the owners had purchased new furniture, bedding, and had "stocked" the room with "luxury" items. Nothing was new, furniture outdated but okay, and no luxury items of any kind were present. The "dedicated work area" was a small round table, with two old chairs (like you find in a dentist's office from the 90s). The advertised, provided breakfast was a pint of milk, 2 small individual juices, two small granola bars, and two individual cold cereals--one of these expired by six months. This was all the breakfast for two people for a two-night stay. The advertised sauna was extra cost, though was listed as free. With cleaning and service fees, room was $175 a night. Weird thing--our room had a small flyer with the picture of a young girl, with a short bio stating she was 13 and was the housekeeper for the room. Unless they are violating child labor laws, I assume this was one of their kids (and could still be a child labor violation?) A blatant ploy for tips or sympathy or...? All in all, way overpriced and not as described/advertised. Their Facebook post states all rooms are remodeled with fireplaces--not true. We had an issue with safety and reported it, nothing was done. This place in no way felt like a wellness spa stay.

Having visited the Hummingbird Inn in years past, we were excited to visit again. However, our…read morevisit was met with disappointment, to say the least. When we first arrived, a man was sitting behind a closed door to the right of the entry in a recliner, almost hiding behind his laptop. We walked into the lobby and saw no one, so we went and knocked on the door of the room where the man was sitting. He finally spoke to us and we were able to get to our room. later than evening, we wanted to take a shower, but found that the shower had no faucet, only a pipe coming out of the wall. That left us no choice but to take a bath in the jacuzzi. Getting in and out was problematic for me, and truly almost dangerous, but I managed. On top of everything else, there is no breakfast so it is false advertising to call it a "B & B". Whereas under the prior owners, I rated the place a 5 out of 5, and referred numerous friends to the place over the years, I am stretching it to give it a rating of 2. Needless to say, we won't be back. It should be noted that the "host", when told of the shower issue, advised that his wife had been working on it and he thought it was finished. He did move us to another room, but the shower in the other room hardly left room to turn around and the water never got more than luke-warm. All I. all, it was a VERY disappointing experience. PS - a phone call on Saturday to advise of the problem with the room was never returned.

The onsite restaurant is convenient for breakfast, and the free game room (foosball, billiards, shuffleboard) and free coffee makers all day. The rooms are nicely decorated and updated, however the noise can be loud if you are not on the top floor as you can really hear the noise from above. So I strongly suggest you get a higher floor (we were on the first floor). Check-in and check-out very easy with automated pin based door codes. Parking was easy as well for room guests in the back, however note that the restaurant gets really crowded by locals or other area guests seeking the good breakfast. I definitely recommend staying here if you don't want to be in the crazy area of downtown Branson. Note it is not walkable to anything else, so you would need a car to get any place.
