Nice decor, plenty of room Freshly cooked quality food there are a couple of bad points tho Lack of atmosphere and Limited menu
but we absolutely adore the foxcote inn. The pub is really spacious inside and the decor is nice - a little continental perhaps, antique touches here and there. But for us the open-plan layout gave it a complete lack of atmosphere, which was most disappointing. we also sat there and decided it felt like a railway bar (albeit a plush continental one). We found the menu to be a little limited. I suppose this is because everything is cooked from fresh and certainly the quality of the food was great, far better than many pubs where you feel your meal has just been warmed through by an inexperienced cook. We opted for Angus burgers, which were good quality and well cooked. Sadly we were not inspired when it came to desserts and left after the main course. Perhaps it is because we went with such high hopes after the Blue Strawberry that we came away feeling a little disappointed. Certainly there is nothing wrong with the foxcote Inn, the service and food were all good, and we felt it would make a good venue for family lunches as it feels like an adult surrounding yet children are catered for with their own menu, and the space means you are not in too close proximity with other diners. We will certainly go and give it another try at some point, but are not rushing back as we thought we would. read more
