The recommendation was to rebuild the wall, add drainage and level the flooring. Other contractors wanted to basically rebuild the entire patio which would have been overkill. They right sized my project and priced their work fairly. My kitchen overlooks the area they were working. So throughout the day I could see their diligence and attention to detail. It was quite a task, especially the removal of the original adhesive but the were total pros. However, when I contacted Grant and Powers, they started out with an email with some essential information like their insurance, a pamphlet and other information to get us started. We talked about what we were looking and then waited for our appointment Our appointment was different. Instead of going outside and talking about size... Gene sat us down to talk to us. He wanted to know what we wanted, what we were looking for and what we wanted to spend. We told him about how we were going to use the space and what we wanted and gave him our budget. Afterwards we talked about modern trends and what designs are in/out, how we wanted to place everything. Then off he went with the rest of the team to start designing it after a small down payment. He asked about budget and we talked about how much it might cost, but of course, the final bill could vary depending on the design. A few weeks later, we had another appointment where he showed us the design and it was amazing. They really sat down and listened to what we wanted because it looked amazing. The budget was completely out of our range.. granted, we knew our budget was on the low side of things, but they were willing to work with us to make this affordable. Finally, our day arrived. We got a call the night before that they were arriving in the morning to get started. During the process, the team were good...i would give them a 4.5/5 for a few minor things.They did talk to us a few times but I wish we were updated better. They were good about protecting our lawn even though some areas did suffer. Luckily (For us and them), our backyard had nothing out there. It was just bare land with green-ish grass. From start to finish, they were done in a week. We waited an extra day for another group of guys to show up to set up the firepit and show us how to use it. They were in and out fairly quickly. In the end, we got a beautiful patio. One section to entertain/eat. The other area is for the firepit and grill. Due to the design, they both feel separate from each other. We did find some minor damages that the team did not let me know or Gene. But he is going out of his way to making it right and I appreciate it. Ive had some neighbors stop by to marvel at the patio. They changed the project start and end dates three times, each time offering a different excuse. After multiple follow-ups, they finally started the job but failed to complete it as agreed. They requested a deposit upfront, which I unfortunately paid. After that, they stopped showing up and continued to make excuses without finishing the work. In conclusion, I strongly advise against hiring this company. Never pay a deposit to any contractor until the project is completed to your satisfaction.

I have had chinch bug problem in my lawn since last year which was destroying our front lawn. I was…read moremisdiagnosing the problem (thinking it was brown patch) all along and nothing seemed to work. Finally, I gave up and called Lawn doctor. Don (the owner) came to look over the lawn and he immediately found out the problem. He patiently explained to me the problem, showing the problem bug and even suggesting a solution. I was pleasantly surprised by his demeanor (very professional, not pushy) and decided to go with him for the application. Based on Don's suggestion, I could have been a prick and done the treatment myself from store purchased insecticides (I couldn't do it!). Don gave me a quote for two applications. I felt the quote was reasonable and justified. After the first application, the crew came to check the results. After checking the grass, (on the scheduled day of second application), I got a call that a second application was not necessary and therefore they hadn't applied it (and of course I wasn't charged for the second application). The company could have easily applied the second application and charged me for the same, and I would have probably paid for it without questioning. But the company didn't do it. It stuck to their morals. I personally felt very happy that such honest and trustworthy companies still exist even today. Now I know who to consult for all of my future lawn care needs and I would strongly recommend and endorse them for anyone looking for a lawn care company. (Note that I don't usually write out online reviews for companies, I only do so when I really feel touched by a companies gesture)
