There is no lot (it's repurposed for food trucks) and no sign's to help direct folks to where the entrance is (FYI it's Tracks). I attended the RiNo Holiday Bazaar. I purchased a Groupon for unlimited mimosas during the 11a-2p Brunch Hours. Included was GA admission, sipping glass (which was always full) and a BOGO Breweries Passbook. There were so many wonderful vendors selling jewelry, clothing, candles and soap, just to list a few. The layout was a a bit messy to wonder through but for the most part, it was manageable. The bar tenders were amazing to keep up with the crowds and our never ending need to quench our thirsts. One of the best parts to the RiNo event was the acapella group Reunited, sharing holiday cheer with great tunes! Yes, there are restrooms. Yes, there are tables to sit and enjoy the yummies. Yes, it is dog friendly (well behaved service furries only). BTW, Native Roots Wellness was in hand with CBD products but they wouldn't sell to visitors...weird?????

CU Computer Science Scalable Game Design project worked with them to deliver two conferences, some events in the UMC and others off-site, even an alfresco lunch. All the food was fresh, correct temp, tasty, and plentiful. The student staff was always helpful, timely and courteous. The planning staff was incredibly good at communicating, and patient while we had to make changes after changes. The chef and kitchen crew did a fabulous job of creating menu items for the myriad of special diets. Everyday, several attendees would comment on how good the food was, which has never happened before. Great job UMC events and catering! I would recommend holding a full-service conference at the UMC for sure, and having Catering provide food outside of the UMC as well. They certainly freed up my time to concentrate on the workshop itself instead of worrying and trouble shooting logistics.

If you're looking to cater anything in the UMC on campus, the UMC Catering is THE only place you can hire to cater your party inside the UMC. I know right, it's a little Nazi-ish of them to do that, but it is what it is. If you've ever ate anything at any kind of event inside the University or on campus, it was probably catered from them. I think it's just easier to hire them because they know all the ropes on campus, and they will make almost anything if you find a recipe for them.

We had a preplanned excursion in/around Boulder for the wknd. Heard about this venue and checked…read moreout their concert list. Lo and behold, Tab Benoit (a terrific blues singer and guitarist) was performing Saturday night! Although it appeared sold out, we lucked into 6th row, just off center (on the aisle). At just under $70/ticket it was reasonable. Tab and his bandmates (drummer and bassist) put on a nonstop 90 minute show that really highlighted Tab's extraordinary guitar playing. He also crooned a few ballads in his signature raspy voice (though not enough in our opinion)! In terms of living/performing blues artists, Tab is among the elite. Checkout the 3 video snippets for a glimpse at his versatility. The quaint venue is amazing. At over 125 years old, t's officially listed as historic. And, despite being 50+ feet high, it is made almost entirely of red wood. That yields really warm acoustics that never harshly echo. A quick glance at the calendar and it appears there's something going on 5-6 days/week. Lots of free parking, though you might have to walk a bit, and likely uphill. They sell snacks and drinks at the venue (no bringing in your own). All purses do get checked. The concession prices are high ($6-8 for a single can of beer or a vodka-seltzer) but consistent/average for concert venues. Seats are reasonably comfortable (old movie-house-style, fold up/down, lightly padded) with a nifty cupholder on the back of the seat in front of you. Restrooms are off premises - yep, you gotta exit the auditorium and walk about 75 feet to a small structure that houses the men's/women's bathrooms. Your wrist band that you should have received upon entry, gets you back into the auditorium (don't exit without it)! Oh and maybe don't forget your ear protection - I brought some decent small ones from home and was glad I did, seeing how close we were. Upon exiting the venue it is a little dark along the various walkways to your car and your phone can light the path. Things are congested for about 15-20 minutes but it all moves slowly/surely because it's not massive like an arena or stadium. I can see why so many big names come here!

This review is specifically for the Colorado Music Festival Symphony Orchestra. I have accompanied…read moremy son to three of these performances this summer, and I couldn't be more impressed. I played in wind ensembles and symphony orchestras as a youngster, but definitely fall in the category of amateur, at best. I do love a good night out at the performing arts, though. The orchestra this summer, led by Maestro Peter Oundjian, is exceptional. I can't remember a symphonic performance that was more intricately perfect in ensemble and intonation than the three I have heard this summer. That each individual performer could be put into a large group and perform as one in such an exceptional way is truly awe-inspiring. I'm going to hear the Dvorak tonight, and simply can't wait! For those who don't know, the Colorado Symphony is now fortuitous in being led by Maestro Oundjian, and under his leadership, I can only imagine that the sky is the limit! That said, there is something very special about driving into the Boulder country/mountains to this little auditorium in Chautauqua Park, with exceptional acoustics and an orchestra composed of some of the best musicians from around the country. What an absolute treat! While the Denver Center for the Performing Arts is a national treasure for us in Colorado, I promise you won't miss the traffic and parking fees of downtown Denver!

PROs: ++ Multiple events can happen because the space is dividable via these giant folding partition doors. Kind of a cool concept! ++ I've been here mostly for GABF (Great American Beer Festival) and I can say they usually have things organized pretty darn well. ++ Security for larger event has been good. They don't impose, but they don't let egregious behavior fly. ++ Accessibility is key for a place like this and there are wide variety of options available including ride share and public transit options. ++ Why bother dealing with traveling to and fro? There's ample opportunities to just stay nearby and treat-yo-self a bit. ++ Absolutely love the Big Blue Bear out front. Not much says, "hey I'm in Colorado" like giant blue sculptures. CONs: -- Parking is a nightmare, and expensive! I highly encourage people to take the RTD or ride share to get you to and from your event safely. All in all Colorado Convention Center gets the job done as long as you plan and know what to expect. After years of honing in the experience I can safely say Colorado Convention Center checks the boxes for me. **PRO TIP: If you have a multi-night event you might as well book a room and have yourself a little staycation! Atmosphere & Performance This was The Notebook The Musical…read moreso it is different from the book and the movie. I would say the musical leans more toward a romantic comedy especially compared to the movie and you will definitely notice the differences. That said I still think The Notebook musical is great. I really enjoyed it and it absolutely still has those tearjerker moments. The cast was awesome and everyone sang so beautifully. The performances felt genuine and emotional and the atmosphere in the theater really helped pull everything together. Customer Service Customer service was amazing. Everyone was super friendly helpful and accommodating from the moment we arrived. As soon as I checked in they noticed I was a lottery ticket winner and congratulated me which was really sweet and unexpected. I did not need that but it was still a very thoughtful touch. Staff showed us where to go and once we got closer to our seating area another staff member walked us directly to our seats. Overall everyone was welcoming and made the experience feel smooth and stress free. Pricing & Parking I got my tickets through Lucky Seats. Which is a lottery-style system for discounted tickets. We won two tickets for a total of $78 and our seats were very close to the stage with a great view. Discounted tickets made the experience even better. Parking at DCPA was $17, and they only accept card payments. Parking was convenient, with several nearby options, and it did not feel overwhelming getting in or out. Food & Drinks For food and drinks I paid twenty two dollars total not including tip. I got one Sprite one bottled Sprite one bottle of Coca Cola and a pack of gummy bears. I understand it is for a great cause and supports DCPA but it is a bit pricey. If you need to sneak in your own snacks do what you gotta do. Overall Experience My overall experience was honestly perfect. The performance was amazing the seats were great and the entire night was so much fun. I would absolutely go back again and highly recommend checking out DCPA and one of their shows.
