A birthday supper to remember.
We have been wanting to come here for a while and we found an excuse.
My fish soup made with local fish was delicious and had the right level of thickness. I followed this with the bacon chop and local cockles which was a really winning combination. The sauce that the cockles had been cooked in was excellent.
I was a little surprised that there were not more fish items on the menu. I know local turbot is expensive but 30 quid for one on the bone seemed to me to be a steep price.
They kindly provided a complimentary birthday dessert which was a lovely gesture.
I had two pints of Corish IPA which hit the spot.
The level of noise in the glass roofed conservatory was a minor irritant as conversation was made more difficult. The staff were attentive and chatty in a good way.
