Thats about it. I am hoping it was because it was a little early (5:30), I am hoping it was since it was the Saturday before Easter, I am hoping that they were short staffed, I am hoping it's too early in the season for outdoor seating, I am hoping SO many things because I will be back but not for food for sure. Negatives: In addition to the VERY limited menu; (that was a WELL WORN & wrinkled) what we did order was not much higher quality than freezer food. The pretzel bites - just like "Superpretzel" with cold whiz on the side. The "Zingers" NOT. They were a boneless breast cut into strips and drowned in sauce. Mozzarella sticks - again, basic at best - I've had better come out of my air fryer. Cheesesteak small and lackluster. The pulled pork sandwich could have had potential had it not be dripping in sauce. Both sandwiches served with cold unsalted fries. In addition to the poor quality of food, we had to order it and go back and pay our bill at the bar despite being seated at a table. Interior: Cute design - a small three-sided bar with comfortable seating. Large barrels along the wall with chairs for seating. The interior was dark but not unpleasant. Photos hung high upon the walls and looked like an afterthought as none are framed, nor fully attached and are curling in the corners. There was a large room perfect for events. That was big bright and inviting. Exterior: This is where I am assuming the "magic" happens that I have heard so highly of. An enormous outdoor area with bar and patio, more picnic table style seating slightly up the grounds which appears to have yet another bar, but I am not sure since I didn't walk up. Lovely grounds and LOTS of parking. In all honesty I really wanted to walk out before we ordered and somewhat wished I had because I WANT to like this place so bad and am REALLY chalking this up to a bad night. I am thinking 1675 is more of a bar rather than a bar/restaurant/pub. Despite the food, the drinks are on point. We have had their liquor before from their other location and it is high quality. My blueberry lemonade was bangin and helped make the food somewhat tolerable. I will be back later in the season, maybe on a night with entertainment with HIGH HOPES that the planets were misaligned last night and our experience was simply a fluke!

I didn't have the pleasure of visiting Dog & Bull before it was renovated, but I visited last night and can't wait to return. My friend and I made a reservation for 5:30 PM (just in case) as we read online that reservations were recommended, but I don't actually think one was needed. When you walk in, it's bright and inviting. The garage doors throughout the property provide a ton of natural light. I can only imagine how lovely it is when they're open in the summer. Additionally, the outside has a nice patio and an area with a fire pit. The restaurant's layout was designed wonderfully! Our server was Alex (Alexandria) and she was the epitome of exceptional service. She checked in on us multiple times and always had a smile on her face when she came over. We really appreciated having her. The baked feta and hummus appetizer was just as delicious as it looks in the photo. The thick pieces of garlic, roasted red peppers, olives, cucumbers and pita bread triangles paired so nicely with the feta. The hummus was warmed up and it looked like the kitchen staff may have torched the top of it. It was phenomenal. Boy do I have notes on the lentil burger - it was 10/10!! I'm not a big bean person and even though this burger had beans in it, it somehow tasted like an actual beef burger. Sounds crazy, I know, but trust and believe it was pure excellence. I added cheddar for an additional charge and upgraded my regular fries to garlic parm fries. Finally, the caramel apple bread pudding... oh my oh my! What a DELIGHT. The top was piled high with a big scoop of frosting. Yes, you read that right. Frosting! Not ice cream! You can taste the apple pieces in the bread pudding. My friend and I wanted to order it twice. It was THAT good. It was easy to make my way to Dog & Bull from Center City thanks to the Septa station located directly behind the restaurant. Street parking also wasn't too bad yesterday. I literally took one sip and left it there. The cheesesteak was good on a seeded roll. It was ribeye and it was done well. Hence tge two stars. The bbq platter had brisket, pulled chicken, ribs, corn and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was the best thing on the platter. The pulled chicken was sitting in a bowl of grease. The brisket was big globs of fat. The ribs were okay. They put a tiny line of sauce on each item. The service was rushed and spotty. I had heard good things, so we decided to give it a try. This was my first time at Broken Goblet and I was impressed. The space is large. They have a full stage set up and a really nice lounge area with sofas that are so comfortable. There is also Dillias Cafe inside where you can get what looked to be great food at reasonable prices, Menu will be in my photos. The space has a very industrial feel with some very cool lighting accents including a very Turkish inspired chandelier. Bathrooms were clean. Bar staff were super nice and even though it was crowded I never needed to wait for my drink. In the lounge there were also huge TVs which would make this a great spot to catch a game with friends. I'll definitely be back! Thank you Broken Goblet for hosting this event and to Tito's who donated the signature cocktail so 100% of proceeds went to Philadoptables.

It was always a simple/sorta dive neighborhood bar with good wings, good people and simple beers on tap. I stopped in on a recent Friday afternoon with a group of 17-20 people to check out the new "Slim's". The bar area itself looked renovated and the rest of the seating areas looked like they just cleaned up and added some badly needed lighting. The girl at the bar had to be very new or just lazy. She really didn't know the menu, was vaping by the register, didn't seem interested in helping anyone but her regulars, had customers buying her drinks and gave me my tab with no details. I'm a pretty tolerant guy, but she was not an asset to the owner at all. She was a total liability and waste of space. She anchored herself behind the bar looking at her phone until someone acknowledged her. We ordered the homemade taco dip with tortillas - the dip was cold and looked to be store bought in a plastic container with some dip thrown on top. Mozzarella sticks were awful and again the sauce was cold. I ordered the lambchops myself which said they came with "slim fries". I asked the bartender what slim fries were and she didn't have a clue. They were just crinkle cut fries. I enjoyed the lamb chops, but they were very salty and spicy. Spice doesn't bother me, but it should be added as a note on the menu. They had "Slim's beer" on tap which the bartender claimed was the owners own beer. It had to be either a Coor's or a Miller product. It was not very good. Either their lines aren't cleaned weekly or biweekly like they should be or it's just a macro beer with their own name on it. Quite a few customers I chatted with said the wings are still good, so I'll have to try them sometime if I'm in the neighborhood. Sadly, we all left hungry after an hour or so to go to a different establishment (we were much happier at the second place). We paid all of our checks without an issue, but the service and the product were far under expectations. There is a lot more effort needed at Slim's for them to get my business again.
