To stay here, you really should like animals. We were greeted by one of their large German Shepherds upon opening the car doors to check. Then upon coming back to the room in the evening, their orange cat graced us with his presence. We stayed in the Artic Fox. Beautifully decorated. Has a cozy fireplace. They have all the fixings in your room to make your own tea, hot chocolate, or cider. The only thing missing was some place to put my clothes: there was no dresser or set of drawers and only 5 hangers. I also do not believe this good for taller people...my husband barely fit in the area the toilet was in, he had to bend down to see himself in the mirror, and the shower was TIGHT. I appreciated the common area they have for guests that complete with books, a coffee machine, television, games, and a complete set of kitchen utensils if you decide to eat in or create a charcuterie board like we did one evening. Their breakfast was REALLY good. Although I did miss having an option for a morning orange juice. Another thing to consider: They took the liberty to enter your room whenever they wanted. They are really picky about not having the gas fireplace going to keep your room warm when you are not physically in the room. Without the fireplace on, our room was frigid. What an absolute gem! This is now going to be our go to bnb when we take our annual anniversary trip to Leavenworth! Dan and Lori were absolutely the best hosts and their property is so beautiful! The breakfasts were delicious and the coffee was so good! Unlimited and ever means a lot for a girl who can't get enough! We stayed in the Red Fox room which was welcoming and comfortable with a walk in shower with the most shower heads I've ever seen in a shower! This place is just wonderful. We had a wonderful welcome tour from human friends (Dan and Lori are great) and animal friends Z, Maya, River and Baloo. Very clean and very welcoming. Absolutely stunning place. Again clean, clean, clean. I know you yelpers like to read how clean a place is. (If you don't like animals Dan and Lori are great at keeping them away from you. I personally love them.) Dan and Lori make amazing breakfast and are super thoughtful on asking ahead of time if you're allergic to anything. For those who are worried about animals and allergies, my husband is actually allergic BUT like I said, Dan and Lori keep the place VERY CLEAN and my husband had no problem! read more

I will be fair and honest in saying that the property is beautiful, the common area is cozy, and the mini horses are adorable. Unfortunately, our experience was soured and we will never return to or recommend the Fox Den. We do expect that when we are out & about that staff will enter the room -- for the purpose of emptying the trash, making the bed, replacing towels, etc. Not to perform an inspection on our compliance with their many rules. We know our room was entered because the 2 throw pillows we were using for back support while watching TV in bed disappeared. They were not fancy or anything, but I guess Lori or Dan did not approve of us using them for something useful? The room did not receive any housekeeping during our 4 day stay. And yes, there are MANY rules. It was like staying with someone's overbearing parents. No bath mat provided. They're so picky about their linens yet a towel is the only option for a bath mat. The waterfall bathtub is a nice idea but makes a mess. The open cutout for the tub leaves little to no privacy for the bathroom. We were greeted by 2 large German Shepherds running/barking at us the minute we arrived. An orange cat likes to lay on the dining table and come into the rooms, rubbing up against everything. Even though we had previously stated allergies after being asked... At the time of our booking and throughout the length of our stay, the website touted a gourmet breakfast delivered in a basket to the room EACH & EVERY DAY. After we checked in, we were told in a matter of fact way that Lori & Dan would be leaving for their own getaway and we would only receive the basket once. The other days someone else was to provide a "continental style" breakfast. No rate discount offered, no apologies made. The 3 days of continental style were horrible/non-existent and ignored previously stated allergens. When we returned home, we emailed Lori & Dan about it. They had the audacity to blame us! They actually changed the website that same day and said we were supposed to request our breakfast by 7 pm each night for the next morning. What?! That was NOT communicated to us. It is a Bed & BREAKFAST, why would we have to put in a request each night??? They straight up lied about the situation and were very, very unprofessional. read more

What a disappointment! My partner and I made our trek to Leavenworth as a way to celebrate the holidays. A couple hours after arriving we were watching tv in our room and it sounded like the owners, who lives above our room, were moving furniture around upstairs. I sent a text asking if there was another room we could move to as the noise was too loud. The hostess Lori came downstairs and banged loudly on our door. After opening the door she aggressively told me "If you don't like the noise you can leave!" Her aggressive and intimidating tone was startling to say the least. My partner and I quickly packed our things and got out of there. This woman should NOT be an inn keeper! No wonder the property is for sale. read more

My wife and I recently spent our fiftieth anniversary at fox been bedding breakfast. Luv you. The only word to describe it is perfect. We stayed in their fox grotto room for 3 nights while celebrating a big birthday. The entire property was beautifully maintained. I don't even know where to begin on how great the Fox Den and it's hosts are. First of all, the house and the surrounding area itself is just gorgeous, and everything is decorated beautifully throughout. The amenities are abundant (a whole kitchen with a coffee maker, plenty of teas, microwave for popcorn, mini fridge for leftover food, wine chiller, glasses, opener, silverware, board games, TV's, darts, etc.) and the hosts really make you feel at home. My fiance surprised me with a trip to Leavenworth, and we stayed one night at the Fox Den. We were lucky it was sunny and in the 70's the whole time we were here, because we got to see the gorgeous grounds around the house as well as a perfect view of the Cascades, which was just stunning. We stayed in the Red Fox, and we had a PERFECT view overlooking the back porch and out onto the Cascades. It was seriously breathtaking. The rooms were so cozy and welcoming (so was the fox made out of towels and chocolates left on our bed), had a fireplace, coffee/tea if you didn't want to venture out of your room, and a beautiful bathroom with heated floors, and a huge two-person shower with a waterfall shower head and side jets too! The breakfast in the morning was absolutely delicious as well - I really cannot rave enough about this B&B. Next time we visit Leavenworth I hope to stay with them again :) read more

We just left this amazing Bed and Breakfast! The owners Dan and Lori were amazing. From the accommodations to the breakfast cooked daily it was delightful. I loved all of their lovely animals as well. Staying with them really saved our trip since there was no snow but the property had fun board games and darts. All of their extra amenities were a nice touch as well as the jet bath tubs and complimentary taxi shuttle. Will definitely always stay here read more

I can not say enough good things about it! This place exceeded every expectation I had. The owners were the perfect amount of helpful without being in-your-face or pushy (which is found often in B&B's)... They knew when to be present and when to be invisible ;) Our room (the Fox Grotto) was SO perfect! I was impressed from the moment we walked in! The colors were so soothing and the tub was GIANT! WE WONT GO BACK Rating either a 1 or a 5. Unfortunately we will not be going back to Fox Den. It has lovely grounds & accommodations. We arrived on one of the 100 degree days. It was nice inside -I had called to make certain that they had air conditioning. I asked Lori permission to invite our Leavenworth friends over to eat in the downstairs cool dining area. My friend is 9 months pregnant and has a 2 year old-they have no air conditioning. Perhaps Lori should have checked with Dan. He was very unhappy about it and let us know frequently during the 2 hours that they stayed.-even telling us that we would have to take care of any damages that the 2 year old did. What? Of course, we would have anyway. Dan hovered around the indoor staircase listening until the baby cried for 1-2 minutes. We immediately took him outside.We apologized to the other couple staying there about the noise because Dan said they were upset about it. They said that they had not heard any of it and had not complained. Dan made several comments about why they would not allow children to stay over or have weddings there. Yes, he was on top of everything, to the point of being obsessive. If the weather would have permitted and we could have gotten a refund we would have left. Instead we stayed and offered help on his water tank flooding problem. The room was very nice. There was no view except a lovely small water feature in a window well. The air conditioning had no way to be adjusted. So, I was freezing inside and burning hot outside. The dining area was the perfect temperature. The only other problem was that there was noise from above. It seemed to be a bathroom with someone taking a shower around midnight. We could have ignored that in the review if the "attitude" had been more tolerant. We had thought it would be a great place to go back to on our visits to see our friends, but sorry, NO. I fashion myself a B&B guru and this is by far one of the best!! This gem is tucked right into the Cascades, just a little over a mile from the quaint bavarian town of Leavenworth. Relaxation never came so easy as it did here with Dan and Lori as hosts. They really make you feel like family, if you happen to adore your family. You'll want for nothing! The breakfast! For the love of all that's good in this world-you must have the breakfast! It's an experience in of itself, that usually results in the need to be 'rolled away' from the table. Be sure to wake up a little bit early so that you can enjoy your coffee on the deck while watching playful hummingbirds fight for domination at the feeders. It's quite entertaining. In the evenings, fresh homemade chocolate chip cookies awaited us after a day out and about. I may or may not have eaten them all. At once. Leaving nothing for others. *blushes* they were so good. My husband and I absolutely loved staying at this bed and breakfast! Highest standard of service, amazing breakfast, and endless activities near by! The Fox Grotto room is so cozy and romantic. Waterfall tub, fireplace, heated bathroom floors, and almost everything you could think of is taken care of! Dan and Lori are so wonderful and they even sent us some left behind clothes in the mail after we got back. We have just come back from a 2 night stay at this lovely B&B. Lori and Dan are excellent hosts, they offer a wonderful breakfast every morning, even making the menu work for my picky eater boyfriend. Plus they have many helpful recommendations of places to eat, things to do, based on your preferences. The location is great, just a few minutes from the main area in Leavenworth. They have 4 rooms that are all fantastic. We had a huge soaker tub in ours, that we used both nights, and they even provide the bubble bath and soaking salts. They have a lovely area that over looks the garden, where you can sit and relax, along with blankets, if it is a little chilly and fresh lemon/water every day. I can not say enough about this B&B. My husband and I spent two nights here for our anniversary. He picked the place based on photos and reviews online and when we arrived, I was amazed by the beautiful property and home. There is a separate entrance for b&b guests, beautiful common area, and rooms. We stayed in the fox grotto room which has a fireplace, tv, king size bed, waterfall feature outside the window, and huge jetted bathtub in the room. The *only* downside is because the wall is cutout where the tub is, the toilet has minimal privacy, but we made do. The hosts, Lori and Dan, are so kind and were so extra in what they provided. The breakfast part is different because of covid, but they provide a basket of hot food and a blanket outside your door, to enjoy in your room or common area. The dogs and cat are SO friendly, the cat even joined us in our room a bit. It was definitely a relaxing and lovely splurge and I wish we could have stayed more than two nights. We stayed here for New Years and had an amazing time! It was our first stay in a BnB and we ended up upgrading our room- which was gorgeous! Waterfall jet tub, heated floors, cozy bed. The most DELICIOUS breakfast! Sweet cat friends popped in for a hello and fresh coffee was always on. Hosts had great suggestions and were pleasant conversation. We will definitely come again. Hosts are so welcoming and friendly unlike any other B&B I've stayed at before. Usually the hosts are friendly but a little awkward or makes sure you know it's their home first. Not in this case! They welcomed everyone as though we were family, it was so pleasant. Now to the place.. very nicely done. Dan finished most of the guest's layout himself and I spent a while talking about it with him. Great man, knows his craft and they have excellent taste. My husband and I just spent 2 nights here as part of the "Stay and Play" package with Stevens Pass. I feel like I can't say enough good about this Bed and Breakfast but here are the highlights: 1 - The location is great, it's far enough away that you feel secluded (what we were looking for) but close enough to town that you can easily go in for dinner, shopping, activities, etc. Less than a 5 min drive. 2 - Lori and Dan are excellent hosts. Aside from being incredibly friendly they are also accommodating. We had to leave early to go skiing on Saturday morning and wouldn't be around for the regular breakfast time so they packed us a breakfast to go including some snacks for after skiing. 3 - The room we stayed in was perfect. We had a big jet tub and shower in ours which was perfect after a long day of skiing. Also I am OBSESSED with the sheets on our bed. I have to find out what they are. 4 - We checked out on a Sunday which also happened to be the first round of the Seahawks playoff game. Dan and Lori invited us to stay and watch the game in the common area even though they weren't going to be there. Talk about putting the customer first!! I highly recommend this B&B to anyone staying in the Leavenworth or Stevens Pass area. read more

Lori and Dan were so accommodating and made a delicious breakfast every morning. It is the perfect distance from town, with beautiful finishes all throughout the house. We enjoyed our stay at the Fox Den! Such a lovely getaway with great hosts who provided all that you could possibly need as well as a delicious breakfast to get your day started. I look forward to returning again soon! The room we stayed in (The Grotto) was beautifully appointed with a large jetted tub (room for 2!) and a comfy bed. The sheets are amazing and we got a great night's rest after a long day of shopping and Oktoberfesting. They have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and fun. First, I only review things that are either extraordinarily awful or excellent; but in this case it was most definitely the latter. The Fox Den is literally a slice of heaven cut into the hill side of Leavenworth, WA. I've stayed in 5 star hotels and B & B's across the country, and this was by far our favorite experience (Glen Ella Springs in GA a close second). If the amazing breakfast prepared by Lori isn't enough, the spectacular views and extra little amenities put it over the top (spray bars on the patio the summer or speakers throughout the house with separate controls and iPod dock). My husband and I just stayed two nights for our 10th anniversary, an event made even more wonderful by our incredible experience at the Fox Den. They went out of their way to make it special with a card and chocolates and a welcome sign. This beautiful venue has all the charm and friendliness we love about bed and breakfasts, combined with the feel of a personal resort. The hosts are friendly and genuinely happy people who love what they do. Lori is an incredible cook, breakfast was a dream every morning with fresh local fruit, warm baked muffins, Dutch babies, ... oh it was delicious. We stayed in the Fox Grotto suite, which was spacious and open with a gas fireplace, waterfall tub and separate shower. Downtown Leavenworth is a five minute drive, and the train station a short walk. Will definitely be back! read more

My fiancé and I stayed here while we celebrated our anniversary and basked in the beauty of Leavenworth. There are not enough ways to say how much Lori and Dan made our stay an incredible experience. First impressions are key, and this one did not disappoint. We were greeted by their (tiny!) foster kittens and resident dog - an animal lover's dream! Dan quickly met us at the door and offered us a warm welcome and a tour of the house. Inside the home everything is fox themed in such a cozy, rustic way. There are amenities available at all times, and our hosts were always available when needed, but provided the feel that we were alone and on vacation. The sprawling garden surrounding the house is perfectly manicured, inviting you to come sit by the serenity of the fountain or hike up the hill a little to see a panoramic view of the mountain range. Above and beyond all of this, Lori and Dan cooked up some darn good breakfasts every morning. From creme brûlée french toast with homemade jam to frittatas with sausage, you'd leave the table feeling full of savory foods and ready to start the day. After just a few short days we left, but not without tight hugs with Lori and Dan. Needless to say we are going to be coming back to stay here any time we come to Leavenworth. When a family offers their home to strangers and accomplishes making them feel like family when they leave, why go anywhere else? read more
