As an eat in place, you can get anything you want in any kind of bread for a pretty fair price. They have three boards of sandwich suggestions, but if that isn't enough, you can devise your own. Always take my Mum and Dad there - they have a great time deciding what to have - breakfast baps are incredible and very good value. Coffee is big and strong. They have a loyalty card which allows a free one after about nine cups - a nice touch, and obviously competing with Nero down the road. The deli counter has a nice selection of food, some unusual stuff - but I do think you pay for it. The olives in particular seem to be very expensive, and I don't really feel they are any more special than from the right supermarket.

The menu is well thought out and all gives the impression of a fresh creative chef behind it. I went for the chicory, blue cheese, smoked venison salad - because I just cannot deny 3 things I love to eat all in one dish! It was delicious - admittedly not massive; it would probably classify as a large starter but for lunch it was actually a good size (my eyes are too big for my tummy!). Mum was delighted with her omelette meal which was a bit more hearty (and I had a mouthful and if I hadn't been so taken with my meal I would have had full blown food envy!). But never fear, in Atlas they just nodded and took our order, and I have to say it's the best coffee I've had in Nottm in some time. With a lovely selection of cakes (I recommend the carrot cake) and an interesting sarnies and salad selection, I can recommend it, especially to anyone trying to escape the clinical Cafe Nero / Starbucks chains. My only reservation is that they need to pay more attention to cleaning up around the coffee machine (it was a bit offputtingly messy).

It stocks local produce and also foods from around the world. It has a really good deli counter where you can get cheeses, meat and olives. It also does good locally sourced meat and eggs. You can also design your own fresh pizza! A bit expensive, but at least you know where your food is coming from.

The Australian waitress could have been much friendlier but the best part of the evening was the atmosphere- great 60s rock playing at just the perfect volume in a dimly lit interior. Perfect for relaxing. I ordered a glass of the house white and it was AWFUL so another waitress we had kindly too it of the bill. The next night we popped into the other location around the corner where the bottom floor is even smaller (although there is a spacious second floor). Also lots of tasty little deli-delights, including biscuits, crackers, relish, sauce, dip, jam, sweets, breads, cakes, etc. There is a small café serving cheese plates and other light snacks with tea, coffee and soft drinks. The cheese shop has been in the Flying Horse walk arcade for at least 10 years and is a nice little change.
