I called City Plumbing counter sales last week after speaking to Amy in Bradford Whites warranty…read moredepartment regarding extended warranty on my BW water heater. Bradford White representative Amy provided me with the correct part number to extend warranty out two years and four years. I provided City Plumbing sales counter the part number for the four year extended warranty because they did not offer the two year extension and I was quoted me $276 to extend my water heaters warranty four more years over manufacture warranty. I drove to City Plumbing today and the same part number to extend the warranty on my BW water heater by four years increased by $150. I asked Tim in counter sales why the same part number that I called about last week now costs more. He gave an answer but did not really explain the increase. I feel that the price of the warranty was marked up after the counter sales manager spoke to his BW representative for the Gainesville area. I did my due diligence and still ended up paying more than the estimate provided just a week earlier. Normally I have had not had any problems like this from City Plumbing. I'm curious as to what has changed in customer service to not stand behind pricing from a week before for identical product?

The store…read morewas neat and clean, well laid out and had a large selection of standard size doors and windows of various designs. Their prices are fair, not knock down discounts but not overly expensive. The surplus stuff outside is around $100/per piece less expensive. I think my only down vote would be that they don't provide delivery but that is a minor inconvenience. I prefer to shop local owned and operated and Builder's Surplus is exactly that. I like this place and I like the people!

The title of this business is misleading. While they do have a large selection of windows and doors…read moreand other building supplies, most of their really cheap stuff is surplus that is stacked outside in the weather. It's only a few hundred dollars cheaper than retail, and most of it has some damage, bugs and debris and has been sitting in the weather outside. It's not stored properly. secondly, if you buy something that is "brand new but not used surplus, it's actually not much cheaper than Home Depot and it has no return policy. We bought a door and a window that cost us almost $2000. It was literally only a couple hundred dollars than Home Depot. we called them one business day later and said we needed to return the window because it was not gonna work. They would not allow us to return a brand new window that we had just bought one business day earlier. They did offer a store credit, but what good is that when you have a window that you cannot use? buyer beware. I would not buy anything from these people.

I had to pull up in the handicap spot because I was getting a fridge and didn't know where to load it so I went back to look at the fridge and then come pay for it she talked to us so rudely and yelled to move it and I was in a car accident with a brace so I couldn't walk far she yelled at us to move and there wasn't any customers there or anyone in the parking lot and yes I do understand I couldn't park but there are others ways to talk to someone she did not have to be so rude like that and make my minor child cry in the car walking out. I have a big family and My family shops there a lot and has always purchased appliances there when we were in need of something. I've never had a experience this bad I mean if you don't want to work there or around people find somewhere else to work. On our way out the man in the front in a recliner shrugged his shoulders. There are ways to talk to someone and ask questions. What's wrong with saying or asking "hey do you mind moving your vehicle you can't be parked there?" That would have been a better way of talking especially with minor children around.
