Indeed, the food in this place is not their strong point, but I am always happy to try out anywhere that doubles up as a brewery! At The Fox and Newt the brew Rutland Bitter, Cunning Stunt and Dark Siide, and their bar is littered with other guest ales. The best bit is that they certaily don't cost the earth. Bands often cram themselves in, and when they're not there is a games room for you to flex your arm and try your hand at a spot of darts. It is by no means living up to its potential, with the decor and overall ambience, but for the great prices, who am I to complain.

Hot dog, really good. You may get a bit messy. Isn't that the point? :)

I am not a microbrewery kinda guy, but that doesn't matter because there is something here for everybody. This old school pub is bloody great value for money. The staff are great and the food is really good too. Still working my way through the menu, today it was hot dog, as good as anything you would get in Chicago or New York.

A nice small pub, at least on the ground floor (there were stairs up to somewhere). There are a few too few tables leaving it feeling a little empty, but the decor is warm and there was a nice neighborhood vibe from the number of people coming in who seemed to know the bartender. For a snack we had the chips and sauces (fries and dips, if you're a Yank like me). The sauces were okay, but the standard ones in the tray (vinegar, HP, catsup, mayo, etc) were better.

Smaller than I expected but it does the job! 2 bars and 7 or so food stalls. I went on a Thursday at around 6.30pm and it was a little quiet but on the plus side we found somewhere to sit no problemo. This place serves up street food, drinks and beats (boom boom) Great for a balmy summer evening :) I love that they have covered seating areas in case it rains/for those that can't take the sun. I went for the jerk chicken with rice and peas from 'Jerk', £7 for a very decent sized portion. It wasn't the best chicken ever but the gravy that came with definitely upped the flavour and made the meal delicious. Rice and peas were nicely done, I just wish they did dumplings. My friend got a bagel plus fries and was very happy with her meal, the portion of fries were enough for two to share. Fun summer addition to Manchester's food scene.

You've got plenty of food options, though I was too full from my swine fries (cheers Bangers and Bacon) to really enjoy some more grub, and you've also got some cool drink options. I had a couple of pints of the Pilsner at Kozel LoKal and it went down a treat! Get yourself a spot on the deck chairs on a sunny evening and you'll find yourself not wanting to leave! Great option of quality street food and an overall top place to chill out!

They've done a beautiful job of the interior of this place and it's a really nice place to come for…read morea drink - there's seating at the bar and in a lounge area. I didn't get to try the food or even see the menu but there's an impressive looking kitchen so hope to return for that at some point (actually have now found menu online and as well as a grill they have a big sushi menu!!) Drinks wise, they had Antica Formula vermouth! The bartender had NO IDEA what it was or how to serve it but we quickly got the ice/lemon/appropriate glass sorted and although it might seem expensive at £4.50 for 50ml it's a good alternative to wine for an aperitif. Prosecco was £22 a bottle which wasn't bad either. I thought the ale selection was a little limited although and I couldn't work out what the microbrewery aspect was (curiously they only seem to have a wine menu even though they have an extensive amount of fancy sprits which you can't see properly). As the evening (Saturday) wore on it became increasingly busy and uncomfortable to sit at the bar with people bashing past you to get their order - they probably need to move some of those chairs on busy nights (/you might want to try another option - amazingly the market was actually quieter by that point!).

It's very confusing to review restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, and other businesses as an American…read morevisiting for a bit. I did visit the Strawberry Duck with a local. When he told me about the name of the pub (several times), I was enchanted. I had the fish and chips and much were very fish and chips. I am also a long time vegetarian trying to eat some fish. Failing miserably. The draft beer selections were the same as every other pub in London that I had tried. Found out in my next to last evening in England that Heineken controls the draft scene. I was searching for local, traditional British beer. Only one place in Oxford! I'll keep trying!! Delightful and charming brewpub or pub (again, American). Very homey feel to the restaurant/pub. The service was something. Fine but I enjoyed my experience thoroughly!

After walking for 8.5 miles we ended up back here where we had booked a table for dinner…read more Walking in we were led to a table right in front which was in a middle of a 3 way much to our dismay as people kept constantly walking past us. What I did see of the decor was nice. The majority of the waitresses were young and what I felt inexperienced . Asking us immediately what we wanted to drink without providing a menu and us having to enquire what the soup and pie of the day was. Drinks ordered I browsed the menu. It was just a lot of generic pub grub with not a lot of fish dishes. Saying that I did see some fish and chips get served that looked fab. I did find the menu a bit uninspiring but luckily I clocked the special board and saw the Strawberry Duck with bubble and squeak with garlic mash. Himself had the minted lamb pie and we shared chipolatas with mustard mayo. The starter was nice but forgettable...the mains were the star of the show. My duck was cooked to perfection and everything tasted fresh. The sauce was of perfect consistency and not too sweet. The mash could have done with more garlic but it was a fine dish especially while sipping yummy gooseberry gin. The minted lamb pie was rich and full of flavour with thick chips that were a little undercooked in the middle. To finish we had coffee as we were full. Overall I felt the service let it down a little, Asking if we want sauce when the starter was served with it, not asking how are food was in the beginning , not informing us about the specials etc and in the end we had to order Drinks at the bar as felt a bit neglected. It was nice to have a swift recommendation of what to have with the gin though and the bill was reasonable . Yes I would come back if I went for a walk in the area.
