A belated review of BrewDog, on at least my fourth visit. I demanded a tiny amount of delicious beer as was presented with a flight which is basically IDEAL for me as I got two small glass of light ale which I really enjoyed. I hate the BrewDog decor, it's ugly and looks like it isn't finished and doesn't make we want to stay there. I know it's their aesthetic but it could be done better (see TwentyTwentyTwo for e.g, or their own Underdog in Shoreditch). But now I know about this whole tiny glasses thing I shall be back more often. That chef who made the best pulled pork I've had in the UK has it seems left, it's no longer on the menu which is very sad indeed. The menu did actually look good though, another thing to try!

I love BrewDog beer, it's tasty beer, they have good consistent beers and they have beers that when you taste em you think 'I didn't even realise you could do that with beer' it's a beering experience. But Toby this is what PSBH does, yes you are correct the new BrewDog bar is doing what PSBH does and that's to take people away from the mainstream and shove something in their faces they probably didn't know existed. The two places do however vary from each other, which is brilliant because that means they achieve your varying needs for awesome beer differently. I was partially-annoyed that the Council had denied BrewDogs license request up in the Northern quarter, I think it's ridiculous to stop new businesses to move into an area where their are so many empty units. But. It has definitely worked in my favour. BrewDogs beers obviously dominated the beer offerings on pump and in the fridge, which is okay because their beer is great, they do however stock a myriad of different breweries too, not to the same level as Port Street by a long stretch but they do have other offerings anyone who's inhabited there online store will recognise many that they've got in the fridge. Beer prices are similar to PSBH, BrewDog also offer more beers that you only get by the Shot and what I also pleasantly saw by the Third too. Being able to buy beers in different measures is very important, please please quieten down Mr Man shouting PINTS PINTS PINTS, pints are great if you're having a supping beer but if you're after trying a whole range of flavours getting different measures is a must and long may it continue to expand its presence on the beer scene. So Awesome beer selection achieved BrewDog serves food, now this is a biggy for me, in my eyes its the only thing that stops PSBH being the holy grail of Beering. BrewDog have pizzas and burgers from what I could see (I didn't actually manage to find a menu), I got myself a burger, as I say couldn't find a menu so not sure if there's chips as well but I don't think so as I didn't see anyone have any. and it was a really tasty burger good flavour going on, will definitely be partaking in that maybe during lunchtimes which I'll be able to do bringing me to my next point. BrewDog is not far off being on the opposite side of town to PSBH which is actually great...for me, PSBH is staggering distance to Picc Station where I am daily, and BrewDog is meandering distance from my office at Spinningfields(where I am at least in body, daily) brilliant! I can see BrewDog getting a lot of business from Spinningfields which really lacks heavily beer orientated establishments. BrewDog sports a small beer garden on the front, now If I've got my orientation right it's south facing which means I'm really keen to see how it fares over the summer I'm hoping for much relaxing out the front of the place with the sun beating down though I'm now sure how all the big tall buildings will factor in, I'll just have to do some research in the form of keeping attending BrewDog (it's a cross I'll have to bare but I'm prepared to do it) Inside I completely forgot to go upstairs like a numpty, it was partially because the place was PACKED and we literally grabbed a table inside as soon as we could which helpfully for us was 5 foot from the bar :-D PEURGH! *fist pump* Service was okay, this is not a negative, these guys were seriously rushed off their feet (it's opening weekend) so it was very much a take your order get it back to you bish bosh done, and based on one visit it would be massively short sighted of me to label the service permanently, at PSBH I like being able to chat to the staff get recommendations so I try something new, in BrewDog I didn't feel I could do that, though as I say this is not a permanent label on the staff the place was packed for it's opening weekend, hopefully over time when I'm in when it is quieter I'll get a good chin wag going over beer selection So BrewDog good beer, tasty food, alright location. Long may BrewDog continue to promote the Beer Revolution to Mancunia!

I popped in here for a cheeky pint after an evening meal. The place was rather busy but the service was still fast and friendly. I didn't realise this place did meals, I thought it was just nibbles and finger food so I was pleasantly surprised to see people eating proper meals, possibly somewhere to try in future. There's a wide choice of beers available and for those who aren't aren't a fan of beers they also have their own selection of soft drinks, wines and whisky. Great atmosphere plus there's board games to play if you're up for a laugh and can grab a table. Close to public transport links and there's a taxi rank right outside so crawling home is made easy at this great location :)

If there's somewhere I can guarantee frequent review updates on, it's BrewDog. An old faithful in terms of drinking dens, it's had my custom on more occasions than I'd care to admit. Although it remains consistent in regards to branding - that standard BrewDog, in your face spirit - their beer, menu and staff all change. So time to update. We visited on a Saturday night so, naturally, it was practically rammed. However, when comparing the queues down the street for Albert's Schloss and Revs de Cuba, I counted myself lucky for even being able to get in! A booth table quickly became free and the three of us set up for the evening. The guys headed up to the bar to try a few of the different beers, and I had a Sideburns cider, which was served cold and crisp. It's the food that has especially changed since I last visited; going from BBQ to burgers, I haven't been compelled to eat here in a while as I think they shunned their mac & cheese and brisket dishes too soon, but the fact we had a seat eventually swayed me. The other half and I shared some hot chicken wings, chilli tater tots and a juicey lucey burger. The wings were great - I'm a big fan of them being served so rustically, meaning you can imagine them actually attached to the chicken - and I could've eaten a bowl of the chilli on the tots alone. Unfortunately the burger was a big disappointment, with no melted cheese to be seen anywhere, and so salty I only ate half. The sides have bought me back round to considering BrewDog more than just a loyal boozer, though I think they should focus their efforts here rather than on burgers or big plates. Quick, easy and affordable.

Upon walking in the first thing you notice is the uninviting smell. I was tempted to walk out but decided to stay and seat myself upstairs. That was confusing in itself, but since a waiter came upstairs I won't deduct any points. The chicken burger was terrible. Undercooked. Stay away from the cola it had NO taste. I asked for the wings to have sauce on the side, although it came sauce on them it was tasty. My burger was excellent, as well as the chips(fries). The staff was nice and then environment was cool, attractive, busy but not overwhelming. I would eat here again.

Brew Dog is already pretty well known for it's, frankly ridiculous, range of ales, lagers, stouts, IPAs and porters. Today, for the first time, I experienced what happens if they also put their slightly obsessed minds to the perfect BBQ! I went for the Beef Brisket; two huge slices of sweet, peppery, tender meat, complimented by a huge chunk of crusty malted bread. On the sidelines, but not in a supporting role by any means, creamy, cheesey smoked mac and cheese. Last, but not least, a dollop of slaw and some crunchy pickles. I went for the signature Punk IPA with mine, which was brilliant, although they do make some very inspired sugestions for what to enjoy with each dish - fantastic! If you're in the mood for some smokey greatness (and it's after 4 on a weekday, 12 Fri - Sun) you should definitely let the Brew Dog off the leash (sorry...).

Beer heaven but pricy. I've been to Brewdog quite a few times. The first was for the amazing Christmas event with Yelp last year then every couple of months since. The interior is great but usually quite busy so it's not easy to get a table at the times we usually go. The beer selection is rally good, as you would expect, but they also have wine and spirits. I've asked them to make a dark and stormy cocktail for my before and they happily obliged. The staff are very knowledgeable about the drinks so if you are unsure what you might like just ask. I wanted mulled wine which they don't do but try happily recommended a beer they had used previously to make something like mulled wine. I haven't had the food since last Christmas but it was excellent then and another Yelper I know has great taste assures me the burgers are fantastic now. Overall a great place but do watch the prices, a few pints can easily add up here.

    Brewdog's BBQ menu....to die for!!!

No matter how you feel about their marketing strategy, which has quieted down a notch lately now that I think about it, Brewdog is one of the few players that are spearheading the beer revolution, it's undeniable. I'm no expert but their beers are amongst the best I've ever tasted. Their bars are pretty cool and increased the level of comfort recently as well although it lacks a bit of music atmosphere. Play some good Rock n Roll guys!! The food is blooming delicious and great for the money as we tried earlier this year at an Elite Event. My only grump is the price of the beer. I understand the much higher cost compared to industrial beers but I'm actually comparing with the likes of Magic Rock, Thornbridge and Co and the beers at Brewdog consistently more expensive.... Or so it feels. Still, the quality is there, no question. Never had a boring beer at their bar! Let's not forget service is top notch, staff is knowledgeable and helpful and the place is always clean!

Love this place I will always try to come back here. The beer was amazing. AMAZING! When is was time to eat I ordered a Cluck Norris which is hands down the BEST chicken sandwich I have ever had. Ever. I still think about it longingly when I have other chicken sandwiches. The staff was amazing very attentive and seemed to be unbothered by all my questions about the brews on tap and my requests I highly recommend going. Great atmosphere. Amazing brews. Spectacular food. Please do me a favor just think of me right before your first bite of the Cluck Norris. God I can't wait to have another one! Enjoy.

As I don't drink, I went here primarily because I heard good things about the burgers, and ohhhh were they correct! The venue itself is trendy and modern in a "New York Loft" style, very clean lines and fancy dangling lightbulbs, and a big blue neon sign reading "IN HOPS WE TRUST", yet there were also a stack of classic board games to play by the seating area, which made it quite quirky :) Now I don't drink, but the barman offered me a sample of three beers which were the most popular beers and which would accompany the food well. He gave me great detail on the methods they are made in, and the flavour notes I would be able to detect, however because I don't drink, all three tasted like that nail varnish you put on your fingernails to stop you biting them. Yechhh!! I asked for a Fentimans Victorian Lemonade instead (they had a small but good quality selection of soft drinks). They have the beer specials on blackboards above the bar. I was amused by the one called "Tactical Nuclear Penguin" :P Also I should point out that the toilets were modern and pleasant, but when I was there, they needed cleaning, which was odd as the staff who were on were just stood around not doing very much and reading the paper... wouldn't have taken much to check the loos on occasion. Now I ordered "The Los Feliz" burger, which was described as "The Californian classic. Juicy griddled beef with American cheese, pickles, onions, lettuce and Punk IPA sauce". They also don't come with fries, because they're quite colossal burgers in themselves! Also, they were well priced, not these £14.00 burgers you get at some places which are all price tag and no delivery, (*cough*Smoak*cough*), but a very pleasant £5.75 I asked for mine without lettuce. It came out on a board, helpfully cut in half, and skewered to keep them together. Now this was one helluva burger. One of the best I've had in Manchester by far. It was cooked perfectly, still juicy and pink in the middle as burgers should be, and bursting with flavour! (So many places "cook the burger through, to be safe" meaning you often get a brown, dry, chewy burger. Not at Brewdog!) So although I can't vouch for the beers that make Brewdog famous, the food was superb, and reasonably priced, and I'd definitely go back!

In going to be honest here and tell you that despite the fact we went here yesterday, my recollection of this place is minimal. If that isn't a good sign, then I don't know what is! We went for the Arepa! Arepa! Arepa! Take over (which was excellent, by the way) and got stuck into all the beers they had. Started on one of the taster boards, and although there was plenty there that I enjoyed, it seemed a shame to not delve deeper into the menu and keep on sampling. Judging by my mounting bank statements, I can see that we ordered a couple of the more expensive bottles of beer, but would say that the price didn't make them any nicer. Just stronger. We had a bottle of Tokyo Norgo(I think it was called that) and a Dog B. Both were great, but the Dogma tasted just as nice and was a third of the price! Come here if you want good beer and food, and have some money to burn

    Just proper craft beer!

As an Equity Punk myself I easily spotted the Brew Dog logo as I walked through Manchester the other day on my way to the office. However it was 8:30 am and I decided that, even for me, that was a bit too early for a beer! When lunchtime beckoned however, and knowing that Brew Dog was on my route back to the Railway Station, you know where my belly took me! I didn't have long and luckily the service was helpful & efficient and I was soon tucking into my 'Juicy Lucy' burger with a craft beer alongside (see what I did there...?). A fabulous choice of beers, a good snack type menu and cool surroundings...this is why I love Brew Dog and it's business model! Why not 5*....I feel that prices for food are a little on the high side for what it is...but hey I'm an investor so maybe I shouldn't complain too much! And, aftrer all, I do get a good 20% discount during the week! :-)

In short: Atmosphere: warm and woody with limited lightings like your general pubs with casual sofas on the top floor. Beers: Delicious British made beer that has been brewed in Aberdeen, which includes lagers and pale ales. The best part about Brewdog is their craft beers which are brewed in limited quantities for those who are beer connoisseur. WIFI is available upon request which makes this a great place to work on your laptop instead of the traditional cafes. Plugs are available on the ground floor but not the top.

Recently opened, the new restaurant is one of the few on First Street so it is quite easy to find. Obviously we took advantage of the January offer and judging by how busy it was on a Tuesday night, so did a lot of other people! Walking it the vibes were really good with great lounge music playing and people chatting away. The menu and drinks offerings seemed to be the same and prices very reasonable. We all knew what we wanted to have anyway- our favourite burger or pizzas! We started with a sharing platter which would probably suit 2 people more than 4, but everything on the board was cooked perfectly. We especially liked the spicy mayonaise as it had a good kick to it. I really liked the burger- big thick and juicy with accompaniments to match and we ordered 1more mac and cheese to share halfway through our meal cos we couldn't get enough of it! The staff were really friendly and bubbly which made the night an even better experience. We sat on the outside tables, so you might want to watch out for the heaters, as they are really hot! I must say, I was very impressed with this restaurant, and dare I say it, as good as the original!

Magical? Chemical?…read more The alchemist is not only a nice surrounding to sit in but the service and food are great and delicious. When we checked in and were asked if there were any allergies we made jokes about my husband's allergy to cinnamon - that we would not need to worry about out it before desert. We ordered a few items from the menu - which is a very delicious mix of classics with some twists (tempura fried fish and chips for example). Order was taken and a couple minutes later the manager came and said "I am sorry - but the sauce to the fish contains a bit of cinnamon" wow! We change the order of course and the manager came back to the table asking if we would be worried about cross termination. We have been not and everything went well after that. Great service. The food itself plays with the alchemist theme for example the chorizo meatballs come with a syringe to inject your own amount of cheese (what you think? Yes of course o injected the whole Syringe into the little delicious meatball duhh). The menu consist of a lot of small items which makes me so happy since I can have so many bites of different things and at the alchemist they are all worth it! And of course classics like burger, salads and sandwiches alongside their mains. The menu is not too big but literally has something for everyone. You have to try the crispy pork skins! After we had been told that the crispy fish contains cinnamon my husband learned they offer their "chicken in a basket" as a vegetarian version as well and that is what he got. Damn that is so good: A bed of chips (fries for our American friends) are surrounded by one of the best coleslaw I had in a long time (almost as good as Guy Fieri's if not even better) then slightly pan seared onions and peppers layer on top of the fries. Ready to be mixed in. Then of course a generous amount of chicken or in this case plant based chicken smothered in a sweet chili sauce. Not to forgot to mention that it came with an extra little bowl of dipping sauce. Delicious! We also had a mocktail which name I might not be allowed to recite here let's named it "virgin adult film star" what a perfect combination of fruit, creme and sweetness. Yummmmmm To end the night I had coffee and Choclate - any serving of coffee comes with a set of three pralines. What a way to end the night at the alchemist. Fun place to go to though if you don't care about that stuff!

A group of esteemed Mancunians gathered in the Bier Haus, which is a delightful addition to one of Spinningfields latest hotspots, The Long Bar (owned by, you guessed it, Living Ventures). After a quick introduction to the charming prince, we were taken through a tale of the dizzying history of his family and their ties to the production of Kaltenberg, which is now brewed under licence and distributed by the award-winning Lancashire brewer, Thwaites. As Prince Luitpold explained, the company much prefers to set up local production of their fine ales to ensure the quality and freshness of the brews. Operations are expanding to Ukraine and Asia next year. We progressed through a wide variety of brews, each one getting a little bit darker and a little bit stronger. Before each tasting, the Prince imparted his considerable knowledge of the brewing process and flavour profile of the lagers and beers, including their impressive ABV%. In true Bavarian style, guests feasted on magnificent frankfurters the size of cricket bats in a bun (exaggeration but you get the point). After the tasting, the charming Prince fielded relevant questions about the brand, as well as the odd reference to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (don't ask). It was a truly unique experience, and we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon in the cozy Bier Haus. We have a new found respect for Kaltenberg and The Long Bar.

We arrived just before last orders but received a friendly welcome and weren't rushed out. I enjoyed my Aperol Spritz (which thanks to our recent Yelp elite event is my new favourite aperitif), they also appeared to have some fancy beers on the menu including one relatively unpronounceable one which my friend I suspect deliberately chose as I was ordering. Music was good too and overall this was a much more chilled option than nearby Alchemist, which was rammed. Granted the selection of cocktails is severely limited, but really if you have a mojito on the menu that's essentially satisfactory, isn't it.

I had been to Sakura back in my uni days and remembered having a great night with my best girl friends (may be it was all about the company). I was again invited for a Greek Carnival night there last month, so decided to go because it was a Friday night, I had no plans and a carnival sounded like fun! Every time I get off the cab on Deansgate I have a bad experience (some drunk girl shouts at me or I see someone throwing up right in front of me at 11 pm) so that night could not be an exception obviously! I got off the cab and witnessed two guys (wearing super tight tee-shirts with a fake tan and looked like they walked out of an episode of Jersey Shore) fist fighting each other. Moving on, I enter Sakura and the whole atmosphere was very much like a trance Greek carnival -- Every one was dressed up in fancy dress with neon sticks in their hand and the club. The drinks were reasonably priced so I could afford quite a few and the music was good enough to dance to after a few cocktails. The crowd was very international and mostly filled with students. Verdict: I definitely had a good time, and come on what else can we expect from a night club in Deansgate Locks? P.S Need to edit the review after my recent experience -- because I don't think I would recommend anyone here!

She then told us to get a seat and she would come over. Even though there were just a handful of people in the bar, we had to wait several minutes (so it seemed) for her to come over. The drinks menu on the tables were just with the cocktails and things like sake (and maybe shots??). It didn't have any of the bottles of beers and different draught beers. I asked the girl if they had Asahi beer - a well known Japanese beer. Since its a "Japanese bar/club", I expected them to have it. She didn't even know what Asahi was. We ordered a couple bottles of beer and opened a tab. We were surprised how much each beer was. For a simple bottle of beer, they cost £4.25 each. Didn't stay for food so can't comment on it. May be very good??
