I've now had a couple procedures at the surgery center at Froedtert, Sergeant Health…read more There are distinct advantages to having something done here, rather than at a main hospital location. First, parking is close and easy. Usually you can stay very close to the door. Second, the facility is small and check-in is fast and friendly and the waiting area is immediately accessible. They have a coffee machine, a table or two and standard chairs and couches for family and patients. There's also a TV and a monitor which tracks patient progress through their procedure for any waiting family or friends not inside with the patient. The interior waiting areas for patients having a procedure are standard hospital bays, with no doors, curtain access, but a recliner chair for companions or family members where they can stay throughout if they prefer. The privacy is perhaps minimal, but the access for the care time is easy and open. Every team member I've encountered here has been great - friendly, comforting, and this is important, they all seem to make a personal connection - even if it's small, that makes you feel seen as an individual. The Froedtert/Medical College is a massive organization and complex, so this is a very limited review of one area, which is the Center for Advanced Care, and specifically the Ear Nose and Throat Clinic. Been coming here for several years, and have always been impressed with the level of professionalism, and care. Especially the staff that work with Dr. David Poetker. Would recommend them to others that are struggling with ENT issues. Once you are in the proper parking structure, it's a quick ride up to the 5th floor. Get off the elevator and go east. Aurora had failed to tell me after my ultrasound that my baby had a cis on his brain and an enlarged lung. So when I came to Dr. Herzog, he gave me the tests to determine if what Aurora said was true. Apparently the cis had disappeared (thank God) and he kept on eye out to make sure nothing else popped up. During delivery he made me feel very comfortable and coached me throughout the whole process. He is STILL my OBGYN and I will continue to work with him because I love his work ethic. He was a new doctor and still had an office on that little side street off of Mayfair. Rd. He was my mom's doctor and even delivered my little brother 19 years ago. Fast forward 10 years Dr. Herzog was my doc all through college and treated me with the Depo every three months for many years. After college I found myself preggo with a new husband. For the first few months of my pregnancy I visited Dr. Herzog. He had changed from the rookie doctor I'd first met. He would blow into my appointments slap his stethoscope my belly and barely listen for a heartbeat and blow out of there. When I tried to ask him question regarding my pregnancy he would act annoyed or roll his eyes like I was slowing him up or something. I complained to mom the Dr. Herzog is so rude now but she didn't want to hear it. During my birth she saw firsthand what a jerk he was. As I said my son was born on Valentine's Day around 8:00 at night so primetime for lovers. Herzog came in like a bull in a china cabinet barking orders at the nurses, yelling at me that I let a contraction get away. I had seen him earlier that day and I told him I thought I was really close to birth and he ignored me. He seemed upset that I refused to go to St. Joseph's to give birth where he would have had his partners deliver my baby. I explained I lived in Waukesha and planned to give birth at Elmbrook Memorial as it was closer and had a newly remodeled maternity wing. That meant that he would have to deliver instead of passing me off to some other doctor. Boy did I pay for interrupting his evening. My family was subjected to the rudeness I had been experiencing in the coming months. Finally I never saw him again after the birth. I had to call him to tell him I'd like to be discharged. He never checked on my son or me for that matter. Just collected a fat check for what took less than 20 minutes and the nurses did most of the work. While pregnant he said rude things to me like " weren't you pregnant in college" or " didn't you or your sister have an abortion years ago" referring to my twin sister who had also been his patient for many years. I was furious at the accusation, as he had treated me with birth control since high school and thru college. I felt he knew I had never been pregnant or had an abortion since he'd treated me for years; he was only being an asshole possibly because I am black. For years I have been angry at how my only child's birth was ruined by this doctor that used to be a nice guy. I don't know what happened Dr. Herzog but you really need to check yourself you lost three patient that Valentine's Day back in 2005 my mother, sister and myself due to your arrogance and poor bedside manner.

I saw this building being built and never thought I'd need to visit, but I had a referral for…read morephysical therapy and chose to try it out. When you first enter, the staff was friendly directing you where to go. Once I was at the physical therapy level I was quite impressed with how clean, bright, and open it was! I worked with the therapist (Isaac P) and his student, each of them were very informative and caring! They were friendly and attentive to what was bothering me. They were thorough in their testing and planning my exercise routine. They have an app which is very easy to use and the exercises were lead by videos and a time clock which was very helpful! My therapist was aware of the cost of treatment and wanted to ensure the end goal-while he enjoys working with his patients, his intent was to not see me again (aka be back to normal)! I love their gym area and the workouts. They're very mindful when choosing them to ensure it doesn't create further pain or discomfort. I am glad I came here for my care and looking forward to my end treatment and healing!

The appointments are on time, the staff are friendly, and the facility is always clean! There is a Lab/X-ray center on the same floor (it shares a waiting room) which is extremely convenient if your doctor orders any tests. There has only been one occasion I had to go to a separate facility, but that was for a unique blood test. An advantage to the Wheaton system is they offer online scheduling, emailing with your doctor, prescription refill request, etc. through a program called "MyChart". I work weird hours, so this has been especially helpful for managing things I don't have time for during regular business hours. Also, I've been able to get results faster on my own without having to come to the office.
