Through the main entrance is a covered outside dining area, suitable for a large group of diners. A second door goes in to the main restaurant. The waitress welcomed us to choose a table and took our drink order. Beer is available here, but we had iced tea. The tables and chairs were clean but some of the bench seats were in need of repair. The restaurant was a little dark but had nice background C&W music. I ordered a shredded beef barbecue wrap. My spouse ordered a Turkey sandwich. My wrap was very good. My only suggestion would be to warm the tortilla instead of serving it cold. My spouse stated that the Turkey was very tender and the sandwich was great. We appreciated regular tea fill-ups on this hot day. The staff were dressed very casually which was okay but perhaps jeans and a shirt or Logo T-shirt would have been more appropriate. The parking outside was great. Plenty of room for trucks and RV's. Overall, a good place to eat. The restaurant needs a little upgrading. We will eat there again.

The coleslaw was especially memorable because it was more savory than sweet, with a subtle hint of cumin that gave it a unique flavor I really enjoyed. We also tried the loaded baked potato with brisket, the sliders, and the mac and cheese topped with burnt ends. Everything was very good. The only item that didn't quite hit the mark for me was the burnt ends, which were a little sweeter than I prefer. Even so, they were still flavorful. Overall, we had a great first experience. Between the outstanding fried pickles, quality barbecue, welcoming atmosphere, and variety on the menu, Hatchet House is a place we'll definitely be coming back to.
