Super nice folks. Comfortable tasting room. Was willing to craft a flight based on my wine choice. That was awesome!

Charming country vineyard (with an even cooler name) that has to have some of the best wines in Md!…read moreIt's a little hidden but well worth the journey! Diane, the lovely owner is so gracious and sweet and was able to handle the flow of oenophiles quite effortlessly. They have the main tasting room and also an adjacent room that could accommodate a group tasting. Diane did a great job of giving us a detailed description of each wine and I was actually pleasantly surprised! I'm not a huge fan of Md wine but truly enjoyed the wines here. I purchased a bottle of the Estate Red and they had a wonderful sangria made with their Chambourcin which I also purchased. I love supporting local and especially such a great vineyard such as this one that is also a working farm. I would encourage anyone to venture out to this vineyard--but actually put the address in your gps and not just the name, you will end up at someone's home. I assume this family are use to people ending up at their home-they have a sign that has the address of the vineyard on it--thank you mystery family!

What a cute tasting room and attached barn with a burning fireplace. It's a little out of the way but worth the visit. Don't follow Waze unless you type in the address and not the name of the winery. We'll be back.

Sunday Funday: Part 2…read more Before or after an adventure, you always deserve a treat! Whether you tried something new, finished what you started, or simply spent the day creating memories with people you love, there's always a reason to celebrate. Thunder Ridge Vineyards was the perfect Part 2 to our Sunday Funday. This family-owned winery is warm and welcoming from the moment you arrive, with something for every taste, ciders, reds, whites, sweet wines, and, of course, everyone's summer favorite...wine slushies! And if you're hungry, order the wood-fired pizza! Ours disappeared so fast we didn't even get a picture and that tells you everything you need to know. Great wine, good food, beautiful vibes, and even better company. We'll definitely be back... Next time, we're bringing some new friends along for the adventure! Cheers to always finding a reason to celebrate!

The brick oven pizza was good but I'd love more flavor and wished they used oregano and basil in the sauce. The wines, of course, are the reason to go. We really enjoyed several reds and a white and bought three bottles to take home. The staff was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable about their wines. It was too cold to sit outside but I can see returning and enjoying some wine on the outdoor patio in the summer.

I took my Grandmother to Wyndridge Farm for her 92nd birthday lunch. I hadn't been here in years…read morebut it's largely unchanged. The grounds are really beautiful and would definitely make a good place to host a wedding or other big event. They make their own cider and beer and their menu features a few gluten free options including GF buns and GF pizza crust with other GF options clearly marked. We ordered the brussel sprouts and buffalo wings to share and my grandma and I split a white pizza on cauliflower crust. The brussels were good but nothing life changing - I do think if they cut them in half they'd have turned out more crispy and less mushy. The buffalo wings were slathered in a delicious sauce and very good. The white pizza was just OK. We asked for chicken to be added but they forgot. The crust was thin but not very crispy. I caught a glimpse of their regular pizzas which looked delicious if you are able to tolerate gluten. I also had the Wyn-mosa, their take on a mimosa. It came with their citrus cider mixed in and it was a really nice combination. They even put a candle in our dessert for my grandma, after I secretly requested it. The food is nothing super memorable but it's a good option if you're in the area.

Another wonderful experience!…read more They now have a big tent covering their whole outdoor patio, so we can sit outside rain or shine, which is wonderful. Hubby and I both enjoyed pulled pork sandwiches and the chocolate/white chocolate mousse for dessert was amazing.

They aren't open every day except for Tuesday and Wednesday. If you are thinking about going on a Thursday Friday or Monday be aware those dates are by appointment only. They are also available to host private events. Looks can be deceiving, when I arrived it looked like it was someone's home. Come to find out it actually is the owners of the Vineyard's home and they have a tasting room attached. The parking lot is very small and only able to accommodate a few cars. I recommend car pooling if you can. They have a very nice patioSet up with fire pits and heat lamps that I would be willing to bet would be nice to sip wine and have a conversation. It was a little bit too cold for my taste when I went on a Sunday in November so I chose to go inside. The tasting room is small and due to Covid restrictions they have limited seating. Mask use is mandatory here. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines that I have. I don't know too much about wines Oh I opted to have a tasting. For seven dollars I got six samples of wine to choose from. After sampling them all I made a decision to purchase a bottle before I left. Definitely a great experience and I recommend anyone who enjoys wine to make a trip.

The woodfired pizza was excellent. Now the bad news: the winery is apparently in legal trouble with the neighbors, and it's easy to see why. The main entrance was washed out, and our GPS erroneously directed us to go down a neighboring driveway. After backtracking we saw the tiny handwritten cardboard sign directing us to the actual alternate entrance. I'd suggest to the owners that they try to address the misrouting problem with Apple Maps (and perhaps others), and/or put up a bigger sign. My first choice of drink (their own branded orange seltzer) was so cloyingly sweet that I couldn't drink it and actually poured most of it out (my friend really liked the cranberry cider flavor, though). The wine I got to replace my drink was just OK. I'm not a wine snob by any means, but if this is the best PA can produce it's not surprising that the region isn't known for winemaking. I wish Moon Dancer well and hope they make it. I'd love to be invited to a wedding there!
