In September 2025, I hired Tomas Landscaping to rebuild a small sidewalk area where the pavers were separating. Tomas built a small retaining wall, replacing several of the original pavers with concrete blocks, recycled pavers, and gravel fill in lieu of existing pavers. Within just a few months, the pavers have significantly separated. Because it has been less than one year since the project was completed, I notified Tomas that his retaining wall was collapsing, and he said he would charge me to right the wrong. When I informed Tomas that I dont believe I should be charged twice as a result of his inferior craftsmanship, Tomas immediately speculated the failure was perhaps the work of moles. However, there are absolutely no moles on my property. Without ANY on-site examination for actual cause and effect, this mole theory was presented as justification to absolve himself of accountability for performing work with substandard proficiency and skill. In addition, Tomas underestimated the cost of material necessary to complete the project and therefore exceeded his original quoted price of $3,890 and inflated the end cost to $4,515 (an additional $625) and one extra day to complete the task. I continue my quest for local landscapers who possess integrity, pride in their craft, and stand tall behind their workmanship.

Reggie and his team have gained my complete trust and confidence. Reggie is clearly experienced and has excellent judgment in terms of what needs to get done to achieve the look you're going for while addressing your concerns. For us, we were extremely focused on protecting our old growth trees so everything was done my hand to protect the root systems. We also wanted to maximize privacy and prep an area for more fencing--Reggie achieved both. He is extremely knowledgeable and gives advice any ISA arborist would as well. Andres, the main guy was probably responsible for purchasing cheaper brown (ugly) rock Instead of basalt that we wanted, yet he quoted basalt. He also quoted me pricing for a full day, possibly 1.5 days he said for 3-4 workers. Next day he shows up with only one guy plus himself. They finished the work in 2.5hrs, hardly close to the day or day and half he quoted. He also told me the area would need 2 yards of rock but he only brought 1 yard. So now the rock does not match the existing rock and the full area was not done per his quote. When he ran out of rock, he insisted the area we wanted to be covered was much smaller. Andres was very argumentative each time either my husband or I tried to ask questions or give instructions. His English is very broken, either intentionally or unintentionally. He just kept saying "I know what I doing, you don't worry...". He does not take instructions well especially from women (at least the vibe I got) and he is not truthful. His prices are also ridiculous. To lay and compact 2 yards of crushed rock (actually we only got 1 yard) he charged us $2500. He kept saying over and over, "I don't drink or smoke, that how I know what I doing, you don't worry". Trust me this guy is not to be trusted and he will twist what you say and then call you a liar. I will be reporting him to Spokane BBB. Do not hire Miguel Landscaping for any reason!!!
