I also asked him to rototill and amend the soil with top quality amendments. We had talked about the 4 cu yards I would need. He arrived with his crew and they started clearing while Calmo went to pick up the plants I had purchased along with the amendments. He returned and we laid out the plants. I noticed he had not brought the rototiller or the soil amendment and asked. He skipped my question. He asked if I had planned on landscape fabric or bark chips. He said he had bark chips. I had not intended on it, but had 8 bags in the garage. He said we needed 20 more. I was getting frustrated that our visions were not meshing. We bought more mulch. Skipping to the end, my yard looks nicer, but I did not get what I wanted. He tried to push me towards getting sod and also having him put in a sprinkler system. I appreciate the work he did but feel like the communication was not great.

In addition to my original review, I had the experience of using the garbage/dump portion of the…read morewaste management facility today. After dropping off some household chemicals, motor oil, and antifreeze at the Hazohouse, I headed up to the garbage drop off. I was nervous at first because I thought it was going to be a huge process to drop off my stuff but you just drive in past the dog park and head up to the first weight station. Wait for your turn and then drive up to the booth and have your drivers license or ID ready. They will scan your ID and then give you a card with a barcode on it which you need to hold onto so you can show it at the booth at the exit. Then you wait for an open parking stall. Most people backed into the stalls because it's easier to push your refuse over the rails down into the dump container below. It's actually pretty organized. I thought it was going to be a huge landfill that you have to find a spot and where the least amount of trash is and toss your stuff. It wasn't like that at all. I had a Uhaul 10ft truck and I'm actually glad the rails that prevent you from failing into the container are there because they help you get the leverage you need to toss large objects without hurling yourself into the container as well. Still...be safe and don't toss with too much force and make sure your footing is good so you don't slip. Kids have to stay within your vehicle for safety reasons. They have a separate section for yard waste and large appliances, so look for the signage. I kind of hated to use the dump to toss my furniture but after calling Goodwill, Value Village, and Habitat for Humanity and all of them saying they weren't currently taking furniture or being too selective on what furniture they'd take, I decided to just get rid of it in one go. I'm glad I did because the process was easy. Once you're done tossing your junk, head to the exit, give the pay booth your barcode card and pay. The receipt they give you even shows your starting weight versus your ending weight so you know what you're paying for. $64 for two full U-Haul loads of furniture, trash, bedding, and household items. I felt that was reasonable and saved me a lot of time. I also found out that you can recycle styrofoam down by the Hazohouse along with all the other items I listed in my original review.

I have tried to negotiate to have GOAT honor the "free fuel/truck" charge on their website. They refused. I asked them to reimburse for the mileage that I spent on my vehicle for a 2nd trip that they caused as we had to go back to the old address to ensure they loaded the items that they missed on the 1st trip. Their "customer service" refused. So, they caused an unnecessary 2nd trip because they had another customer's furniture in their truck upon arrival and because the crew was too lazy to put everything into the truck the 1st time...yet, they don't refund because they're only offering partial services. When I place a grocery order they credit for the items they don't have in stock...they don't charge me the same price for partial services provided. Just know this company just wants your money. They do not care about you or your move at all. ______________________________________________________________________ I've thought a lot about this experience before writing my review. First, we have used professional movers (3 different companies) prior to this experience. All of them went well or very well. This was absolutely no bueno. 1. There's a moving special on their Yelp page "First-time customer special New customers get a free fuel with a purchase of $400." We did not receive this as they charged us $80 fuel/truck fee non-metro. 2. The moving vans on their page are clean, have their name, and don't have missing pieces to the door to prevent items from falling out. See attached picture of the van that came to our home. It looked like it has survived downtown Los Angeles. 3. The movers on this page are wearing uniforms. Our movers showed up in plain street clothes. They didn't announce who they were, they walked in, immediately told us they were not advised by customer service/sales how much stuff we had to move which, brings us to #4. 4. They advised that because they weren't notified how much stuff needed moved they already had another customer's items in their truck! This led to two trips, an extra hour of time, me calling/emailing about 10x, and absolute frustration with the entire process. See attached pic (none of the items in the truck belong to us). This is as soon as they arrived and opened the door pre-loading our belongings. 5. I knew exactly how many boxes we had, the crew volunteered we were very organized, our move from a 3br w/ a garage 2 yrs ago took 2 hours from arrival to unloading finished at this address. When the crew walked in the lead told me no less than 5 hours to move a 2br apartment. He then notified me that he wouldn't be able to wrap any of the furniture or it could take at least 7 hours. It ended up taking exactly 3 hours as I had indicated to customer service, plus an hour for them to drive back and pick up a few items that would have fit if they didn't have the other customer's furniture in the truck. This 3 hours included them finally wrapping the furniture. We had to donate some of our own blankets to the cause as they didn't bring enough blankets. 6. After trying to reach customer service for 3 hours, then negotiating for over an hour, we finally got them to waive charging us for the 2nd trip driving time. However, see #1 where they charged us for fuel even though their promo on Yelp (which is how I booked) says no charge for fuel. 7. Overall the move itself was 10x more stressful than it needed to be. They should send an empty truck as they never notified me that they were sending me a partially filled truck. And, they certainly didn't charge me for only the portion of the truck available to me. If you advertise "no fuel/truck charge" then honor it. When your website shows a professional truck and crew wearing uniforms then offer that...it helps a house of ladies feel safer. And, on moving day answer your phone and solve problems within less than 4 hours as it makes it seem that now that you have my money you no longer care. 8. The lead spent the last 20 minutes of the initial unloading time rearranging the previous customer's belongings and GOAT's equipment. So for 20 minutes we paid for 3 crew and received assistance from 2. 9. Customer service were all very polite...even during the crisis they caused. I will be asking for a refund for the portion of the fuel charge that was billed in error. I'm not even asking for a refund for the portion of the truck we weren't able to utilize since the truck was partially filled with another customer's inventory. And, I didn't ask for a reimbursement of my wasted time and my own vehicle's fuel for a 2nd trip. I will not use this company again. See attached photos to back my claim.

I used this company a few years ago for a move and it went OK. The rate was good and they did a…read moredecent job although I asked their movers to mask because we are immune compromised and one of them removed her mask right in our faces while we were paying which I did not appreciate and was dangerous. This time the crew was 45 minutes late because they went to the wrong address during the first part of the move despite me being very clear, repeatedly, where to go. That was very inconvenient and my mom had to wait around in her car outside a storage unit while I kept having to message to ask what was going on and barely got a response. I received the final invoice and paid it immediately with a nice tip anyway. A couple days later I started getting a bunch of emails from the company saying that I hadn't paid. I sent them a screenshot of the $0 invoice balance and the transaction on my credit card. It had the name of the owner and a transaction ID and their ZIP Code. They continued to message me every few days saying we didn't get your payment, you must've sent it to the wrong place, they even sent me another invoice like they expected me to pay again. I kept telling them to check in on their side and that I didn't know what else to do. I provided ample screenshots showing that I paid and they kept blaming me and trying to bill me again. I finally filed a dispute with my credit card company which was painful because I'm disabled and making phone calls hurts me. I didn't know what else to do because this is not a small bill and the company wouldn't stop bothering me. Finally they made a call themselves and immediately sorted it out which they could've done in the first place and then they apologized to me and said yes you did pay right away it was an error on our end. This was a complete waste of time and completely unprofessional. It's not appropriate to harass a customer who paid, who has clear evidence of paying, instead of just doing your due diligence and trying to resolve the issue without making me feel doubted and blamed for days. I can't recommend this company and I'm very angry about the way I was treated. Harassed for something that wasn't my fault at all and that they could've resolved with one quick phone call on their end instead of bothering me when I had just moved and they know I'm disabled. Avoid this company.

Instead, these guys came and removed the branch, repaired our roof, and fixed the ceiling with such an expert patch job that you can't even tell where the hole was on our ceiling. Not to mention, they did all of this in one day, the very day it happened and was very reasonably priced! Definitely recommend. Definitely would hire again. 10 out of 10.
