Clean. Small rooms. Way overpriced. No ice machine, laundry, coffee, breakfast. Old and run down. Cheapest place in town and they know it.

I was Very pleased with my choice, The Heritage House Suites! It was affordable for one night, close and very charming. The Master's Suite: 15 foot ceilings, large windows that had shutters for privacy ( which I Loved personally), beautiful hardwood floors, large square deep bath/shower, full kitchen with microwave, fridge, oven stove, coffee maker, dishes & silverware, two extra large wine glasses for the wine I brought along. The suite was quiet and very cozy. They offer free wifi, and free parking. They have a Beautiful wraparound porch to sit on during the afternoon or early evening but we didn't get a chance to enjoy, will the next visit !! We will definitely stay again as well as Highly recommend to family and friends... The only think I would suggest to management would be more of a cable or TV package, viewing was limited and nothing to watch. They offer a DVD player to watch a movie but we didn't bring any and the suites didn't offer any collection. ( bring your own movies ) Tracey was Wonderful !! Thank you for your help and patience on our arrival

I had the pleasure of staying two nights at Heritage House Inn and Suites, and I do mean…read more"pleasure." Sure, I could have stayed at a cookie-cutter chain hotel in this university town, but for just a few dollars more, I rented the Master's Suite, literally half of the second floor of this beautiful Victorian mansion, which came equipped with a huge sitting room, a full (private) bath, and a complete kitchen. The kitchen was the selling point for me when booking the room, since I'm on a strict diet and need to be able to cook fresh food (rather than rely on fast-food and takeout). To be clear, this is NOT a bed and breakfast. There are no common areas in the house, and the innkeepers do not provide meals. It's really more of a furnished rental, available for short and long-term stays in Indiana. Pros: Comfortable bed and sitting room furniture, full kitchen, WiFi, cable TV service, full bath, complimentary bottled water and snack basket, off-street parking, walking distance to restaurants and shops. Plus the staff is very friendly and helpful and their pre-arrival communications (confirmation emails) are excellent. Cons: Neither of these should reflect poorly on the innkeepers or Heritage House. But I have to mention them: 1. Noise. Bring your earplugs (I always travel with mine) because 6th Street is apparently a major artery and every pickup truck with a bad muffler in Indiana County must drive past the house between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. 2. Street construction. Indiana is tearing up a bunch of streets, including School Street, which requires the roads crew to barricade the street to any motor traffic. Unfortunately, Heritage House's private parking lot is accessed via School Street, so it's impossible to get to the Inn between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays. According to Becki (who clued me to the secret of taking the alley halfway down School Street to escape the lot during the day), this construction has been going on for months, so be aware you may need to delay your arrival until after 5 or sundown, whichever comes firts. Bottom-line, this was a wonderful stay and I would heartily recommend Heritage House Inn and Suites to anyone looking for a comfortable, private alternative to the Comfort Inn.

I went down to breakfast and she couldn't have been any nicer, she checked on folks constantly. When she wasn't filling the food options she was walking around constantly cleaning. She was the only shining star here. On to the room. My wife had the digital key so I asked for a physical key. I got my key and tried to go into the room to change clothes. Guess what, the key didn't work. So down to the front desk I go. The young man working was friendly but it made me laugh when I said the key didn't work and he said I'm not surprised, making me think this is a regular issue. He tried a new key and it actually worked. The room was older with well worn furniture. The room was not very clean despite us just checking in. There were stain on the walls and drapes. The night stand beside the bed was so filthy it was disgusting. My wife went to get a wash cloth to clean it and the washcloth was so gross from wiping the stand. The bathroom door wouldn't stay shut, I had to prop my toiletry bag against it to keep it from opening up completely. It was weird, the door seemed to rub on the floor when you opened it but then when you tried to close it wouldn't latch. On to the shower, it was gross. There were cracks in the tile that had black mold and mildew in it. There were dark spots in the grout lines. The bathroom also smelled bad. We seemed to have an extremely loud mini fridge that constantly turned on throughout the night. My wife travels extensively for work and said this was one of the worst hotels she's experienced in a quite a long time. We originally tried to book the Hilton but it was full so we had to end up here. If given the choice, stay somewhere else.

I even found myself wondering down to the pool and hot tub to enjoy some relaxation time. What's not to like? Well, unfortunately I was greeted in my room by that annoying yellow tissue... you know the one that signals the box is almost empty. Yet, there was no replacement box to be found. Ok, how about TP? No replacement roll with less than half remaining on the primary. And while the room appeared very clean, I found a foreign hair in the bath tub... a pretty damn long hair! That left me wondering how clean everything really was. While they issues were corrected the next day, they should have never been raised in the first place. The Hampton Inn might not be Hilton's flagship brand, still I expected better and could have stayed else where for less...

AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS -- Health hazard, completely unsafe, and totally unacceptable…read more We checked into the Ramada by Wyndham in Indiana, PA for a work trip and wound up leaving almost immediately -- this was, without exaggeration, one of the most disturbing hotel experiences we've ever had. The property is completely falling apart. The hallways were unbearably hot -- it felt like well over 100 degrees just walking to our room, and it wasn't even hot outside. That's because the windows lining the hallways face inward toward the building, and all the air conditioning units are venting directly into the enclosed hallways. The air was thick and suffocating. Surely that must be a fire hazard, if not just wildly unsafe for guests' health. Everything was filthy -- stained carpets, scratched walls, broken railings. Our room reeked of stale cigarettes, mold, mildew, and cat urine. The carpet was heavily stained, the walls were drawn on, and there were roaches and signs of bed bugs. We left without spending the night. Unfortunately, we had a package being delivered to the hotel, not realizing we'd need to leave so quickly. We tried to call the front desk multiple times -- no answer. We drove all the way back, only to find the front desk worker outside smoking, while the phone was off the hook inside. Completely unprofessional. The building is not secure in any way. Due to the extreme heat and poor ventilation, windows and doors were propped open all over the property, making it feel completely exposed and unsafe. We even noticed abandoned rooms through the hallway windows -- empty concrete shells with no flooring or furniture, just dark and deserted. The pool area was carpeted -- yes, actual carpet around the pool -- and it was damp, musty, and covered in visible mold. The furniture was dirty, the air reeked of mildew, and the entire setup felt unsanitary. The gym was equally horrifying -- every treadmill was broken or ripped apart. This hotel is not just outdated -- it's a biohazard. The fact that it's still operating is beyond comprehension. Shame on Ramada and Wyndham for continuing to put their name on this property. I wouldn't feel safe being in this building for five minutes without a hazmat suit.

Having grown up in the area he was familiar with this Ramada. While checking in he was carrying our little 10 pound dog, Gracie. The clerk said there is normally a fee for dogs but since she is so little I'm going to wave the fee. We were told to park at the rear of the building to enter near our room. We got to the back door and realized we didn't need a room key to enter, the door was broken. The odor was nasty coming into the building. We went down to the bar and had a couple drinks and an appetizer. After listening to the band for a while we decided to go back to our room and take a shower. The water in the shower never got hot. It didn't even get warm. The tub was also dirt (I have pictures if you care to see them). I was sooooo disappointed with this Ramada. It was dirty, stinking and no hot water. The next morning while waiting to check out the woman in front of us complained about no hot water. The clerk said yes, we have been having a problem with that. Wouldn't that be something to tell someone prior to checking in. It wasn't until later that I noticed we were charged the $30.00 for the pet fee. The first charge was for the $155.40 and than another $30.00 for a total of $185.40. He never looks at receipts. When I saw he paid $185.40 for that nasty room I was mad. I thought well at least I'm going let you know how I felt. I wish we would have just drove home.

The lobby was dark despite having a huge chandelier. The ladies at the check in desk kept apologizing. I wasn't in a hurry put my husband had to leave to go to a meeting. He left and I stayed until the computer started working and I could get checked in. My room was at the complete other end of the hotel. I finally was getting close to my room and I saw a hotel employee walking down the hallway spraying the carpet. I figured out it was similar to Febreeze. The hallways smelled musty so the spray was needed and appreciated. The room was a bit small. The lamp in the sitting section wasn't working. Paint was peeling in the bathroom. Then I found out that the hotel had NO KING SIZED BEDS! I threw on my swimsuit and made my way to the pool. It was because of how nice the pool area was that I have two stars. I stayed there for several hours. When I went back in I walked down the hall to the vending machine to get a soda. It smelled like sour milk. UGH!! Later I went down a stair case to let my husband in since he didn't have a key and the hallway smelled like cat urine. There was t a DO NOT DISTURB plaquard for our door but thankfully we were awake before they knocked to clean the room. It seems as though the rooms have had a mini makeover. Now the hallways need one. New carpet and brighter lighting would make a difference.

Many terrible reviews over the past two years. Obviously IHG is not paying attention because they have acknowledged reviews at the corporate level, yet this place still exists! Where do we start? I have nothing nice to say about this hotel. Nothing. These are in no particular order. Most not discovered until it was very late and I was not interested in moving to another room that was just as messed up. Should have read the reviews as they were all pretty bad. Not one or two bad reviews... tons of them. - Breakfast was okay. Fruit looked pretty sad. - Heater was dirty. Grime stuck to exhaust vents and filters not cleaned. - Blinds were broken. When moving them up or down, pieces of rust were falling into the window frame. - Cold air blowing in around the window. - Water stains on the wall that were rust colored. - Dry wall cracking and coming apart. - Barely can use the bathroom it is so small. When sitting on the toilet, the toilet paper holder is jammed up under your leg. - Wall hooks for jackets coming off the wall. Two out of the three fell off when I went to pull clothing off them. - Desk chair leans to the side and is broken. - Stains in the shower. Cannot tell if they are rust or mold. Maybe both. - Ceiling in bathroom crumbling. - Hook on back of bathroom door pulling out of the wood. - Bed was shot. Folded up around me when sitting or laying on it. - Stains all over the mattress pad (brown and yellow stains) as well as on the mattress cover. - Set up against a junk yard. Here are the big ones... - Box around the window was rotting and falling apart from water damage. To add to the fun, it was pulling out of the wall. Brought it to the managers attention and he blew it off. - Headboard falling off the wall. All the anchors were pulled out of the wall. The bed was propping it up. It is bad enough that it moves and the night stands lean. - No hot water. Tried to wash my hands in the evening and after ten minutes, no hot water. Just cool. Went to the front desk and manager made excuses and said I need to let it run. Went back to the room, let it run for ten more minutes, shower as well. No real change. Barely warm at all. Manager showed me water in pantry and it barely got hot. This is a food safety issue as this is where they clean the breakfast area. As of this morning, no hot water either. Water has now been running for 20 minutes. Many of the reviews going back several months indicate hot water has been a long standing issue here. Spoke with the front desk clerk in the morning and they admitted the hot water has been an issue for many months. ZERO replies from the manager. They responded to several other reviews with a blank message. Seems they do not know how to use a computer very well either.
