Chicken with side of street corn and coleslaw

This was the Merkin restaurant before the new location and name was changed to the Four Eight Chicken. Came here in July 4th and place was pretty quiet. Seated and ordered quickly, server was nice. My friend and I broke ordered the chicken with 2 sides. The chicken has a little bit of a bite to it. They also give you a free sample of mead upon request which was good.

This place was recommended by a coworker who's made several Cottonwood visits. We said we were taking a day trip so obviously couldn't drink too much, and this was the perfect suggestion. My husband and I shared the full flight and ordered the tot waffle and the goat cheese and tomato jam bruschetta. It was a lovely light lunch and a great selection of wines. Surprisingly, our favorite was the sparkling mead made with Arizona wildflower honey. Despite cans being a little pricey, we *had* to take some home. My other favorites were the red blend of multiple grape varietals (the Legion) and the sparkling white. The staff was knowledgeable about their options, and the place itself was cute. I liked how I never felt rushed through the experience. There's so much to try in this area, but I'd come back here again easily.

Be sure to check out the ceiling and art detail on the walls. When an owner thinks about every detail then you're certain to have a great experience. Try Lindy's Twaffle (your taste buds will thank you). The popcorn with truffle salt (OMG) -great experience. Yes, the wine is wonderful too. This is a must "stop" location in Old Town Cottonwood!

Had a great time at Four Eight with my dad and his girlfriend. Pleasantly surprised that their wine pours are 2 ounces each, where is the standard is 1oz. Interesting Wines, some sparkling. Bought some of that very unique honey mead, along with a couple of others. That Twaffle thing was pretty freaking great. What a new idea! And both chutneys that were on top were stellar. Charcuterie board was also pretty tasty, and next time I will definitely ask for some of that onion chutney and tomato jam from the Twaffles to be on the board.

    Fun!

What a treat in what used to be Cottonwood city offices and prior to that a jail, a bank, you name it. Just an FYI that the signage isn't great yet so park near Colt and you'll be in good shape. That, however, is the only thing that isn't great. The staff was very knowledgeable, and clearly loves his product and his work. I'm sorry I didn't catch his name. Good solid, basic winebar decor, and the most outstanding ceiling ever...it does Arizona proud.

Another great addition to the growing number of wine bars on Main Street in Cottonwood. Serving up local wines from Puscifer and Four Eight, utilizing Arizona grapes, stop in here to imbibe on Arizona's best. This newly opened tasting room, right in the heart of Old Town, has a fun, upbeat vibe, replete with cool artwork and good tunes to make for a fun afternoon or evening of wine tasting. The food menu consists of some imaginative charcuterie boards, bruschetta, twaffles (YES! TWAFFLES!), and gourmet popcorn. Do yourself a favor and stop in when you're in Cottonwood....and check out the ceiling...pretty damn cool.

Of the Cottonwood wine tasting rooms, this had some of my favorite wines (maybe of all the Sedona weekend tastings) and the staff were super friendly and accommodating. We split the largest flight between the two of us and it was perfect. Fun vibes, great food. Loved the Twaffles!

While making the reservation I made a note that our oldest son is autistic and non-verbal and his only form of communication so that staff was aware we decided to give this place a try. After spending close to $800 on food for our party we decided to exit the restaurant and that is when the problems began. As we were walking out another customer at the bar a patron at the bar decided to squeal at my son but also yell into his face. When who I assumed was her daughter realized we saw what was going on she covered her mouth and told her to stop. Being adults and understanding of others different situations we decided the best method was to approach the management team and explain the situation. I then approached a manger who was wearing a pink colored collared shirt and explained to her what happened and her response was "that hurts my heart, we do not stand for that and we will definitely do something about this." We waited outside for about 15 minutes to see what was going to be done and once we saw nothing was I went back in to speak to the general manager. This was definitely the worst part of the night. Tiana came out to speak to us and I asked her to speak on the side so that other patrons were not affected. Her response to me after explaining the situation was "since we did not see it we cannot do anything." I let her know that was an inappropriate response and that since it was a private business they could remove any patron for any reason but if they did not want to do that then she could just openly tell me that. I then gave her an example and stated "if I stab someone and you do not see it then you would not remove me?" Her response was "we definitely would," to which I stated that goes against what you just openly told me and she that there is damage from a stabbing. I then stated to her that physical damage is the same as emotional and mental damge just in a different form which she seemed to easily dismiss. She then stated that the first manager I spoke to was doing her due diligence to find out what happened and I then pointed out that that manager was actually waiting tables and we watched her do this the entire time so I was not sure when due diligence was being completed. We went around in circles, I asked her to give me the ownership information to which she stated "the owner is too famous for you to know," but eventually gave me the name which I had already searched for in my phone. At this point I openly stated that she could just tell me they were not going to do anything and that transparency would be more appreciated to which her response was "you are not currently dining in my restaurant so you need to leave my property." We did walk away but I hope that this is addressed and not pushed aside. All that to say, I hope this type of discrimination was not because we were Hispanic (the restaurant was filled with 90% Caucasian clients), because we were from out of town (from California) and mostly I hope it is not because the stance of the restaurant is not that people with disabilities matter less. I hope someone reaches out to me to address this concern and I hope no other family has to be a part of what we went through tonight. Tiana seems to be invested in the business and that is great but should also understand her customer concerns. Update to this review: Called this morning (2/17/26) and the hostess said she was not going to help me with any information, that I was a weirdo, to grow up and then hung up the phone on me.

I've been in Cornville for 4-1/2 years and came here for the first time about a year ago. My review was based off the entire party. This time it's just me. I came for the olive medley app which is an amazing concoction of imported olives, sundried tomato, artichoke hearts, fresh herbs and lovely mild goat cheese. It's served warm with buttered and toasted baguettes and the entire app is absolutely sublime. Learned today it develops from a recipe in California! Tastes like it! I also had the rigatoni with spicy Italian sausage. Large portion (half is dinner later) with toasted bread and fresh Parmesan. The marinara is hit with fennel and tomato bits, so much flavor and the sausage has just the right spice. The sur andes Malbec was the perfect wine. They have a very impressive and extensive wine list, great price points. The restaurant is set above Oak Creek, hence Up the Creek. Ample windows provide bird watchers beautiful views of Cornville natural wildlife. Prices are better than Sedona and this place, while off the beaten path, is every bit Sedona-worthy! Another little hidden gem I'm grateful to live close to.

We ordered shrimp cocktail, cheese platter, elk, lamb, a Sedona burger and the pistachio crème brûlée. The elk was so good and the sauce was amazing. The lamb was good too, though we found the sauce to be too overpowering so dipped it in the remaining sauce from the elk. The burger was also very good. So large had to eat with a knife and fork. The pistachio dessert was a delicious way to end our meal. The restaurant itself was very small from what we could see and we did make reservations. We sat by the window that overlooked the creek and saw several hummingbirds as there were feeders outside. 10 out of 10 would recommend. Happy to support a gem like this. We will be back for sure!

Queen B is owned by musician Maynard James Keenan (lead singer for Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer) and his wife Jennifer, and that's neat to know. The record store has a wide selection of vinyls of specific genres. It's clean and inviting. You can listen to records if you'd like and they can ship to your home if needed. There is the famous Puscifer statue, where people from all around the world leave offerings. It's worth a visit. Attached to it is the cafe. I appreciate the opportunity to eat good breakfast food in the middle of the afternoon and my friend had the kimchi ramen, which was delicious too. We ate outside on the patio, which was serene. I visited the vinyl store with my wife since it is the only one in the greater Cottonwood/Sedona/VOC area. Even though my wife and I are mostly alt/metal core listeners, my wife is also a big Swiftie and there are exclusive drops at record stores for Record Store Day. My issue is with the way customers are treated at this store. When my wife asked what drops were coming in this month, she received a very curt response from the girl at the front desk saying they are not allowed to discuss what is coming into the store. Weird, but okay. She asked my wife to tell her what she was looking for so she could contact her if they received it. When my wife told her it was a Taylor Swift album, she basically laughed in her face and said they would never carry Taylor Swift there, making my wife feel judged and stupid for even asking. It is unfortunate that this employee chose to not only judge my wife for her taste in music but also decided to be really rude about it. I get that the store has more of a metal/alt aesthetic and they are allowed to carry whatever they want, but treating customers like they are lesser for liking different music is just really dumb and in my opinion pretty against the art form entirely, especially when it comes to punk/metal/alt/goth genres. Customer service should not be hostile to the people walking through your door. We obviously will not be going back, which really sucks because as vinyl collectors we would love to support the business. Vinyl stores are so rare nowadays, but if they are going to judge you based on what you listen to and be crappy to your face about it, we do not want to be supporting this place anyway. Do better Queen B. Art is subjective and you are doing a bad job and should be ashamed of how you are representing it.
